Okay so Ive had many cats before, and they all love the shit out of cat nip. what cat doesnt. BUT my current fur baby is reacting the weirdest of them all. AND I MEAN WEIRD. So i might have accidently hot boxed my house with cat nip. Found a cat treat recipe on pinterest that is made of wet cat food and cat nip. Made them and baked at 350 for 15 min and the smell has just filled my small apartment. At the moment my cat is flipping nuts and just meowing crazy like with different tones and pitches. Its so funny!!!!

LOL, pot brownies for cats. I call catnip 'kitty reefer' because after my cats are done going nuts over it, rubbing their faces in it, meowing like crazy, random bouts of sprinting through the house, they completely pass out and look, well, stoned.

My mom's cat doesn't react to it AT ALL. He'll sniff it, bat at a toy, and then walk away uninterestedly. But you give him a honeysuckle chew toy and he goes NUTS. He starts kicking it and rolling it around, and chasing it, and he rolls into furniture and makes demon cat noises. It's hilarious.

My girlfriend's an my cats, on the other hand, love the stuff. They'll both find a catnip pouch, chew on it and drool on it for 15 minutes, and then run around the house like they're possessed, with hugely wide eyes. SO FUNNY. They run around, Tokyo drifting around corners and smashing into furniture and walls.

LOL @ the cat nip brownies! love the idea :') seems like one of those things where it sounds good, but actually doing it...results in your apartment smelling like that crazy old cat lady's house on the corner.

my cat is about 6 months old, and cat nip makes her crazy. pupils go all dilated, runs and jumps on everything haha

i have two cats and one of them just kind of gets aggressive and runs around while on nip (which is what most cats do) but the other one just passes out.

I had a cat once that loved the stuff and would roll around in it. My current cat? He could care less about it. I've seen him get more excited over fish food.

I had a Siamese cat once that didn't react to cat nip at all. What it did like was angora and wool. I had to keep my angora and wool sweaters put away where he couldn't get at them. If he did get a hold of one, he would drag it around and growl at you if you tried to take it away.

My boyfriend accidentally spilled a container of catnip on the floor once. My cat went bonkers. She broke things. Needless to say we don't allow catnip anymore.

My mom's cat used to eat the catnip and then lay on the living room floor and howl. Cats are weird

I've never used any on my cats. It seems my presence and care is enough to get them all lovey-dovey and wanting to stay. Its unexpected happenings that take them away.

Old, and obsolete.

There is no way my current Siamese kitty could care less about catnip. He's more of a peppermint addict. I think he wanted harder stuff than peppermint.

My Mainecoon boy on the other hand gets super cracked-out on it.

I've got flames on my chest. It's a lot to live up to.

My girl cat does the typical running around crazy act, but my boy cat will drool on the packet and just lay down and roll in it. I guess he's trying to get the oil in his fur so he can save it for later. And if there's catnip in the house he WILL find it. He's my little addict.

Mr roommate's cats are both weird. The younger one seems to mostly get antsy. The older one gets more easily annoyed with the younger one and lazier about doing anything about it.

Literally went to a catshow where over the PA, they say very clear "CAT CRACK" in reference to catnip. Its hysterical.

One of my cats, who lives with my mom, becomes a frisky, angry, nip-hoarding warlord. Her two babies (she came to us pregnant and ever-so-slightly feral) roll around on it gleefully until momma turns into a bossy pants and has to have all the nip for herself. Our eldest cat, my lovey orange boy who basically will be rude to anyone else (scratches, bites) but is my baby, likes to roll in it, eat it. Give him a catnip kicker and he's delighted.

My accidental baby will roll and flop in it, scoop it on her paw and eat it. I gave it to her to quiet her when she was in heat because I couldn't tolerate the yowling T_T (She's fixed now! They just didn't have an earlier appointment at the time! :( ) She hasn't gotten nip in a while but I haven't bought any nip toys. The "biodegradable or some other" cat dancer toy I got is supposed to have nip inside the mouse but that's doubtful.

my Goose has zero reaction to cat nip. it's the most disappointing thing. when we adopted her, we bought her catnip bubbles to play with, and a bunch of catnip toys, but she was having none of it. :' (

But my two boys adore catnip, especially my Percy. Goes nuts for it. He loves the catnip bubbles. :D He gets excited whenever I even touch the bottle. If you give him actual catnip, first he rolls around in it, and then he eats it. The only unfortunate thing is that he forgets to put his claws away when he's had some 'nip.

That's amazing. hahaha. I'd say poor baby, but I'm sure your cat was fine. (And happy.)

My cats act like any other cat while hopped up on cat nip. We have cat nip socks. Like, an old sock filled with cat nip. I used to have wild cat nip that my granddad would pick, dry, and package up for us and my parents. But since he passed away I've had store bought. Store bought is no where near as potent as the wild stuff.

My bengal GI has seemingly endless energy and loves to play and run around, but the couple of times when I've gotten her toys with catnip in them she's actually been indifferent about it. Which is a bit odd, because this is a cat who can otherwise get very hyper if she gets excited about her favourite toys or food, or if she sees a squirrel on the other side of the window.

Of course I might just have had bad luck and bought toys with old catnip so there wasn't much of it left, but in any case I'm probably sticking with non-catnip toys that I know she loves from now on.

i live with my gf and her mom, and every night her mom puts out cat nip for their three cats, and each one reacts differently and i LOVE IT it is great

Baby-cat doesn't seem too interested about it, but still enjoys the experience. Meanie-face rolls and flops and gets REAL crazy. and Penny just eats it......and then flops her chunky body over hehe
