Hey all of you lovely Subeta peoples! I know we all have plenty of pets on here, but I'm really wondering about offline pets. Tell me what you have, how many, their names, a favorite story about them, or even something quirky they do that makes you love them even more!

I have one cat named Peach Fuzz (with many nicknames, like Peachykins, Peachy, and Smoosh). She's pale orange with some stripes and then a cream-colored belly. One of the quirky things she occasionally does is lick windows! She's my little weirdo ^.^.

We've got 4 and a half cats. The half cat is the newcomer, a 4-5 month old calico with lovely markings. She showed up on monday and walked right into the house, not that I can blame her, it's cold as anything out there and she would probably have frozen to death! Our other, older cats are a bit non-plussed by this stranger just helping herself to their home, and we're still debating if we take her to the shelter or not. She's currently been loaned the name Wee Dingus, until something more suitable comes along.

Dobby is the head of the household kitty. A rangy gray tabby with black stripes and white eyeliner. He showed up out of nowhere at my brother's house as a tiny kitten with hugely oversized ears. Turns out somebody had jimmied open one of their livingroom windows and abandoned the kitten into their home. Since he showed up without warning, had big ol' ears, super affectionate and afraid of nothing, along with the somewhat mangy looking gray outfit...what else could we name him but Dobby?

Max is the grumpy ol' lumpus. His full name is Maximus the Mighty Meeperbiscuit! Mostly we just call him Biscuit and he weighs in about 20 pounds.

Noel was another foundling. Max got out on Christmas Day a few years ago and while searching the roads for him (we live in the country) the husband spotted a little white kitten. She was more than happy for him to pick her up and bring her back to the house. Spotless white, no fleas/ticks/mites, litterbox trained and obviously well socialized, she was abandoned into the country on Christmas! Grr, some people really need a whoopin'.

TJ, short for Tiny Jackson, aka Capn' Teej. He's a lovely marmalade tabby with extra toesies on his front paws. Super shy, he rarely lets himself be seen by strangers, and is always first at the foodbowl of a morning.

I just have one cat named Snowflake. I found him when it was snowing 13 years ago (where I live it hardly ever snows). He could fit in your hands. He is the sweetest cat. Currently sitting next to me.

I currently have two cats, both brown tabbys. Cleo is the older female at 18 (whom we affectionately call 'granny'), and then Oliver the younger male at 7. We had a third (the middle 'child') but she passed away a couple years ago.

I'm also a dog walker and house-sitter, so I have a bunch of like... extended pets (mostly dogs) that aren't mine but I see all the time, haha!

I've got a cat named Leo, and a few cichlids (both South American and African).

Funny story about Leo- we spent the first month or so thinking that Leo was a girl! The adoption agency had said female, and we originally named her "Catalina" after the island of the coast of Southern CA. It wasn't until we took "Catalina" to a vet for some scheduled kitten shots when the vet said "Uh oh... I have some news for you....Catalina is a boy!"

So we changed the name to Leo, which sounded close to the shortened "Lina" that we'd been using, and that's that! The new name fit very well though, because Leo did (and still does, even at nearly 8 years old) like to dangle his front paws when he lies somewhere. He looks just like those lion statues in front of libraries!

I have a 6 year old Great Dane who is super spoiled thanks to my mom. I swear the dog eats better than I do. I also have a 2 year old cat. I wish my cat was more cuddly but I still love the stinker to death. Oh at the moment my brother has his fish aquarium set up here because there isn't room in his apartment.

I have a miniature dachshund. Her name is Pixel. :3 Named her that 'cause she was so small when we got her. Quirky name for a quirky dog though. She is totally ball crazy. Will try to hoard all the balls. Company means ball. Even eating means ball. (She will take it to her food dish and set it aside, periodically checking on it as she eats.) She is colored like a min pin, but has a white patch on her chest.

I also have a hedgehog named Izo. He's getting to be an old man. :< But he's still enjoying his food, naps, and some bulldozing in his bedding. Just doesn't get around as well as he used to.

- Oh my gosh, they all sound adorable! It's so sweet of you to watch over the little one so she doesn't freeze. Meeperbiscuit made me giggle so hard! Silly extended names for kitties are the best. Anyone who would abandon a kitty on Christmas is heartless! Omg, I have a soft spot for those polydactyl babies!

- I can't say I've ever met someone who has ducks! They do look like they're fantastic as pets, though. Very tempting!

- Ginger kitties are soooo sweet! I sometimes call my partner a ginger kitty because he meows and has red hair lol. Btw, your signature is freakin' adorable!

- Aww, he sounds really loving and special!

- Tee hee! Granny kitty ^.^. I'm sorry about your other kitty that passed away :(. I know exactly what you mean about extended pets! I used to live with a half-basset, half-jack russel named Rowslee who belonged to my landlady (I rented a room). He sometimes took naps with me (total freakin' bedhog). I also have a friend I've known for 7 and 1/2 years who has a chiweenie named Coco that I love to death.

- Sadie is so lucky to have you! Good on you for rescuing her!

- The same thing happened with my sister's cat Bob, who was named after the man who rescued her when they thought she was a he. My sister is quirky, so she kept the name Bob lol. Aww, a little lion! I sometimes call my Peach a lioness ^.^. I love cichlids! My sister's blood parrot cichlid just passed away recently, but what a beautiful fish!

- I love great danes! They're like a fantasy pet of mine to have (you know, if I ever have enough room for one and want my cat to hate me forever). My kitty isn't too snuggly usually, either, although she has been cuddling my feet lately.

- Aww, your babies sound wonderful! ^.^

- That is the BEST name for such a tiny doggy! And what a cute story about the ball! I can't stop smiling about it. My sister had a few hedgehogs some years back. One had an issue with her leg, so she made it a little scooter thingy to get around on.

My hedgie is actually having a leg issue too. Hadn't though to try to make him something since he still gets around. Plus, wheels wouldn't be great for the aspen he loves to tunnel in.

Glad you approve of the name! She is a pretty special little personality. Not all good, mind. XD But she's a pretty neat little dog all the same. She'll be three in Jan. I've had only two other dogs in my lifetime. One lived to be nearly 15 and the other was nearly 13? I think. Maybe 14? I can't recall anymore. The first lived out a full, natural life. She was a mutt (vet said cockerx) that was the best snake dog my family has ever seen. Lived through a looot of snake bites and even getting run over by my mom! The second dog was a Shih Tzu. She had renal failure or something of the sort. Woke up one morning to blood all over the house and the vets wouldn't see her 'till 2pm or so. She didn't make it. :<

Didn't think I'd ever get another dog again, but when someone turned to me in gun shop and said, "do you want a puppy?" ...and that pup was the one breed I always wanted....I couldn't resist. XD 'Cause what're the chances of finding my dream breed in a gun shop while my husband was shopping?

Yeah, he's a sweetheart. Every day I come home from work and he greets me at the door meowing. Of course, I know he is whining for his wet food but when he is done he comes and snuggles. :)

Yeah, I really like cichlids a lot (I started with standard tropicals but migrated to these guys). I've had most of them for 6-8 years, with my oldest being the convict cichlids I actually adopted from a pet store (someone had brought them in, all we knew was that they were some type of cichlid- they were so small!

Now they're full grown, and I have them in a 29 gallon tank with a divider (since they're the only two fish in that tank, I don't want them nipping at each other). The larger male has a dorsal fin that extends out even longer than his tail fin now, he looks like he has a fin shaped flag on his back! So pretty to watch him swim!

Cats! I have my own cat Phoebe who's ten and my girlfriend has her two cats Jessie and Rosie that are a year old. My girlfriend still lives with her parents and her mom has my girlfriend's cats' brother from the litter after them. He's just over a year old now as well and his name's Cal. The cats' mom is spayed now, thankfully. She was a stray who was taken in by my girlfriend's grandparents. Jessie's one eye is discoloured because of a scratch on it that he got when he was a baby living in a woodpile. The three cats don't show any signs of being ferals because they've been here for a long time and they were raised well. :) They're such sweethearts and Jessie is actually afraid to go outside though his brother and sister love to go out on a leash.

I will love you forever if you trade me:
