I'm going to cry. I am seriously going to fucking cry. Because I just WASTED $20.

First off, it wasn't enough money to do all of my laundry, so I had to leave some aside. Twenty dollars and STILL couldn't get all the laundry done. Why? BLANKETS.

Second, my laundry came OUT of the washers still smelling the way it did going IN. Actually, some of it - some old blankets and towels that had been sitting in a closet for LITERALLY a year and smelled REALLY MUSTY - came out smelling EVEN WORSE despite using PLENTY of detergent and using hot water and dryer sheets. So everything smells like must and mildew and stale sweat and cat ass ('cause OF COURSE Bear's been sleeping in it.) Instead of, y'know, green apple.

THIRD. THIRD. THE AFOREMENTIONED DRYERS DIDN'T EVEN GET WARM, MUCH LESS HOT, AND ALMOST NOTHING - N O T H I N G - GOT DRY. I even checked and cleared the lint traps going in. There was NO REASON for my goddamned laundry to STILL BE WET. 45 minutes is MORE than enough time for a FULL LOAD of laundry to get dry, but it's like the damned things only ran for THIRTY, IF THAT.

I can't. I can-fucking-not. I am so DONE with tonight this week this month this GODDAMNED YEAR. Everything can just go to HELL because it sure seems like that's the direction it's going ANYWAY.

I'm a bad mood too. You can see why here: https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/865503/Why-me

I'm assuming you do not have your own washer/dryer. I don't know what advice I can give you because I've never had that problem. I also don't have pets that sleep in my bed because I only have hamsters and a bird.

Is it possible to let the blankets soak in vinegar and baking soda for a while before washing them again? That might help get some of the smell out. I know the musty smell is definitely a tough one to get out, especially if they've been like that for some time.

Could you maybe find another place to do laundry? Clearly this place isn't working out, haha! Or maybe borrow a friend's/parent's washer and dryer?

I would also maybe invest in just like a cheap drying rack to hang your stuff up to air dry if the dryers aren't working out for you. I don't know what the weather is like where you are either, but leaving things outside to air out can help rid things of bad smells too.

- I left you a suggestion on your thread. I hope your hamster gets better <3

- Unfortunately, I can't do any of those things =/

I live in a small apartment on the sixth floor of a high-rise complex - I don't have anything big enough to soak two comforters and three blankets, plus seven towels, or nearly enough vinegar, or enough room to hang them up to dry inside. I could hang the kitchen towels up in the bathroom, but that obviously doesn't solve the bulk of the problem.

And no one I know owns their own washer or dryer, either. Nor is going to another laundromat feasible - I can't afford to, both in terms of washing costs and bus fare. It would cost me almost $10 just to make all the bus trips required, and the only bus-accessible laundromat with washers big enough for comforters charges $5 to use those big washers and $1.75 for their regular machines. I'd be looking at a total cost of almost $50 and eight to ten hours by the time it was all said and done...

I just thought of something... is there a friend or family member that you can take your laundry to and use their machines?

Ah, damn... I'm sorry to hear all that. Understandable that you can't go elsewhere, shit's expensive sadly...

I was going to add that hanging things up might also not be possible depending on where you live (ie; high-rise). Next time you go and do a load of laundry, try putting vinegar or baking soda (just not together!) into the wash with hot water, and that should help with the smell a bit.

Fabuloso --a little in the wash 1/4 cup or so and no pet smells, just lavender.

I know how you feel! I don't have washer/dryer hookups where I live so laundry only gets done once every couple months. Last time I did it I took it to my moms since I was going there anyways, took 11 hours to dry and came out smelling like cigarette smoke (my mom smokes). :(
