Yes, really, here we are again ;). I'm happy to announce Gold Account testing for the Wardrobe V3.5 which has been in testing for awhile among staff and minimods.

Why???? Good question. We've been here before, and recently. The V3 wardrobe taught me a lot of lessons, specifically about building in this type of javascript environment. I made a lot of mistakes that have hopefully been corrected in this version.

The biggest answer to "why????" though, is that that back end of the wardrobe is old. The version that the V1/2/3 wardrobes run on was built by almost ten years ago, and runs entirely separate from the rest of the Subeta codebase. It was meant to be the "rewrite" that would save us all (yikes) and we just never got to switch most of the site to it because of the problem of running two codebases at once.

So why is this better? I built a new back-end on Laravel a PHP framework maintained by other people to be as fast and smart as possible, instead of a custom back-end built by one developer ten years ago.

I got to re-think a lot of the ways that the avatar is built, and stored. The way that the new system stores avatars makes it significantly easier to edit them from other parts of the site.

Also - it's not separate from the rest of the site! The goal is to use it for more features going forward, and we've already launched it as the thing holding together the new forum posts page, increasing the speed of the forums significantly, and making it easier for us to add features to it going forward.

What you get

1. A much faster wardrobe, on every page. I can't stress enough how much faster this wardrobe is.
2. The ability for us to deploy wardrobe features across the rest of the site. The wardrobe items page uses this. Other pages could use this.
3. A smarter wardrobe. When you get new items, they just show up. When you save your avatar, it's immediately viewable around the site.
4. UNLIMITED LAYERS, kind of. Instead of limiting by the number of items per layer, we now limit by number of items total. Go crazy with that face layer! Right now the total limit is 30 items during testing, but this could possibly change.

What you don't get

1. Hexes. This is coming.
2. Sorting by color. Also coming.

How do I get it?! Go to the New Wardrobe page. Browse around, build your avatar, and save it! The wear button wears it around the site and the save button saves it to your saved avatars.

Something is broken Did you convert your avatar? If yes - please post and let me know!

Is the remove items from wardrobe feature any easier to mass remove items? Or is it the same as in the current V3 wardrobe?

Edit: Or I guess there isn't a remove feature in the newer one. :(

OMG I'm truly excited for this!! I WAS going to bed... cough cough Now I think I'll play in the new wardrobe for a bit!

Hmmmm, interesting. Is this going to make all our old saved HA's disappear and or have to be rebuilt because they can't convert over to the new system? I really like the ability to share/save (for when the site drops while I'm in the middle of an HA (happens all the time), this is really handy).

It really is quite a lot quicker. The previews don't show up on an avatar body, is that a permanent change?

This possibly seems like a dumb question but ima ask anyways: Should we convert our avatar now, but our gold account expires, does that mean that any changes made to our avatar in the old wardrobe won't display? Or am I just mentally mixing things that shouldn't be mixed? xD

It seems interesting so far, I'm rather excited at the idea I might can finally save some of my favorite outfits though it doesn't seem to yet be functioning. Going to definitely play around with this, I've been dying and mentally begging for a better less buddy wardrobe for ages.

I have butterfly bruise from the event. I never cured. When I went to the new wardrobe my butterfly bruise shows as I don't have it :(

I did what the instructions say but I put wings on my HA and they haven't showed up on the site at all

So fast! Hot damn, I'm going to be fiddling with this for a while.

In the order by options area, the drop down arrows are too close to the next tab and will not work. They need to be spread out more. Also, is there no option to show more items per page?
