The Case of the Curious Conundrums
As Nutsy expected, a number of the Protectors arrive to take the shuttle in anticipation of adventure and danger. (They're just like that.)
However, the sight at the shuttle port is hardly what anyone had in mind.
A large vehicle with flashing headlamps careens onto the runway and slides into a perfect 12-point landing (okay, 13 if count the tail it's using as a rudder.) It's white and purple and it's quite a sight. The door slides open and the marmot who delivered the invitation hops out, paws spread wide.
"Welcome to the Bunbus!" he announces proudly. "Hop aboard the Ridiculand Express! Oh, wait, all of you aren't dressed yet. You have to make a costume suitable for our queen." He lowers his voice to a whisper. "She's very particular; yes, indeed. Down the rabbit hole; through a looking glass--any of those sort of things, but try to do it with your own personal flair! It's worth pixie points, and those can buy clues! We have to refuel on high octane carrot juice anyway, so take a few days to get your gear together."
He hops down and sets off toward the hangar snack station. "Bring things we can sell if you don't make it out," he calls cheerily over his shoulder, "and solve the Bunbus riddles. Travel is so much smoother with the right answers!"
Two placards drop down from the Bunbus' ears.
"These must be the riddles we need to solve," Francine says as she retrieves them. "Let's see what they say."

<p>Madeline doesn&;t have her hat, but what are the odds that each of the other nine girls grabbed hers right away, without having to exchange? You may answer in percentage, in standard "odds" form, or as a fraction.

The Countess exclaims: Well, I can&;t be blamed!</p>

It's as different as Night and Day!
With invitations in hand the Chimeriad board the Bunbus. Dressed to impress the team coordinated their ensembles to that of Alice, the White Rabbit, the Cheshire cat, the March Hare and the Maddest of Hatters (So mad in fact that they needed 2).

Despite the appearance of the Bunbus, its ride is surprisingly smooth, and everyone is excited about the prospects ahead.
Everyone except Percy the Marmot. He has looked very troubled since he came out of the message center, and has been puzzling over the rather large piece of paper in his hands. Finally, he lets out a deep sigh, and hands the roll to Francine.
"I just cannot cope with this myself, so help me out, please!"
Francine unrolls the scroll and she and Squirrely look over it.
"Oh, no!" Nutsy exclaims. "We should have brought Geranium!"
"She can't leave Willow, you know that! And even if she'd brought the children, who knows what Chester would be getting into!" says Francine.
"Point taken," Nutsy nods, "but then what do we do with this?"
"We have a whole busload of problem solvers with us, right? Percy, does the Countess need all of these?"
"I'm afraid so, Francine. She doesn't cook at all, and the Count has driven Cook over the edge."
"Can't we calm her?" Nutsy suggests.
"Oh, I meant literally over the edge. She's hanging in a cage down the side of the cliff on the Count's orders. Only our barber can take her food down since he's a lizard. Poor woman is just sitting and sobbing. She can't help."
"The barber is a lizard?"
"Yes, Bob the Shave. Well, actually, he's treated more like a word-that-must-not-be-named."
"A word that must not be named?" Francine asks.
"Shhhh," says Percy, putting a finger over his lips. "We must be careful. The Duchess always has fits if she hears it, and she lopped off six rosebush heads last time, which meant the Queen had to order six gardener executions, which thankfully didn't happen since she was short six pawns for the chess board. We just can't use the word-that-must-not-be-named. Still that how the Count treats Bob."
Francine nods slowly and Nutsy turns a lighter shade of grey.
"Let's get started then." Nutsy says, holding out the paper so everyone can read.
It's a menu for the Count's birthday banquet, the event for which you all received the invitation. Percy explains:
"The Countess can't cook, and all of these recipes are new, since the Count wants the very latest culinary trends that he's never had. I'm sure we have all the ingredients, or we can get them, if only we knew what they are and how to prepare them! Can you please come up with recipes to fit the names?"

HeiYu calmly conjures up a recipe book and retires to a quiet spot to study.
"Thank you for having us along" Galaxia says to our hosts, before taking a look at the recipes. "Hmm. I used to know someone who was particularly good at cooking. I hope that should work."

Stirring the soup with a large wooden spoon, all the look in the cauldron.. Chook whispers..
"Is that enough ingredients, I put 10?"
May and Emma both said...
"I did too"
Looking over the list of ingredients and only seeing 20, all stare at the bubbling soup before agreeing with a slightly confused look...
"We don't have to list the rest....let's hope it tastes good"
Grabbing the giant wooden spoon, bcsam holds it up and speaks in a loud, spirited voice...
"Who will taste?"
