So I got myself a Yunium Key and the Schematic ready and when I go to Full Steam Ahead I can pick one of my pets to turn or create a new one.

The question is: if I choose one of my normal pets will it get the cog gender and "built on" or it'll remain a normal gender pet just with the new color?

If you choose an existing pet, it keeps its gender and iirc it keeps its birthdate, not built date, also but I'm not 100% on that (I think I asked a similar question awhile back so I'll see if I can find the thread for you). Only built steamworks pets get the gear gender, even a genderless pet won't get it if you change it into steamwork.

I see, I ask that because I'd rather use one of my older pets (ID issues) than create a brand new one. But I also would like the cog gender after all the trouble to create one the 'right' way..

Ah, yeah unfortunately you can only get the gear gender if you create a pet from scratch, and they will lose it if they become something other than a steamworks pet :c (the thread actually did not mention birthdate vs. built date though, sorry I can't be more help on that)

Just posting to confirm that old pets turned into Steamwork pets don't get the built date. It still has the birth date or "born" on the profiles, as well as keeping its gender and not the gear one.
