SO im like broke. Im hoping someone will give me a ride to my towns upcoming breadshed..(it's a event where people with low or no income go to get help on food)Sometimes they give pizza or something..With thanksgiving coming up im trying to think of things that are cheap and need no stove to cook.My thanksgiving budget so far is $12.00 walmart gift card which can only be used at walmart.

my cooking sources microwave electric skillet crock pot oven(this I have less than 3 hours of use someone said I could use theirs but for no more than 2 hours.)

I want pumpkin pie mashed potatoes some kind of meat stuffing/dressing(I never stuff anything I put this one the side)

feeding 2 people

Sadly my current groceries are basically can corn green beans tuna chicken

spices salt pepper garlic salt basil

fridge eggs ketchup mustard miracle whip butter

other chicken broth

NO I don't have flour sugar bread

Can't eat cranberries

Im so hopping I can get a ride for the breadshed..Im hoping they will give something I can use..I will find out next week if I can get a ride. It's like the 19th if im thinking correctly.

First off, I hope you can get a ride! I'm not sure where you are, but many localities do offer shuttle services for low income residents, especially to places like Bread Shed that might be especially useful.

If you're looking for recipes to fit what you already have, I highly recommend Supercook (I use it myself often)--http://www.supercook.com/. You can input what you already have in your kitchen/pantry and it will suggest recipes you can make.

Finally, because I'm a shameless librarian shill, I'll say check out what your local library has to offer. In a lot of larger cities, libraries are building some wacky but useful "libraries of things" where you can check out kitchen appliances, pans, and other things you might need.

Honestly Ive only ever seen a shuttle on tv..My town is small not even a walmart, walgreens, cvs,or anything big like them.Ive never heard of a library or anything like what you described..I will check out the site you mentioned.Im also trying to find coupons for things.I mean it doesn't have to be a traditional pumpkin pie it could be like the pumpkin pie from mcdonals..

One of my cooking issues is I can't stand for 2 hours..Im in physical therapy do to a car wreck and have to have my hip operated on.SO my balance is not very grand..

Hmm. You need to bake pumpkin pie and to make it, it will cost way more then $12.

Potatoes are cheap to buy. You can buy two loose ones at the grocery store (My grocery stores have loose potatoes. I'm also not in the US). You can also buy a single piece of turkey breast and packaged gravy that you can make on the stove top, in a pot. Most people don't make their own homemade stuffing, so you can buy stuffing in a box.

I'm kind of in the same boat you are. I'm low income and I get one shift a week. I couldn't even buy myself meat today because my debit said insufficient funds. I sometimes go to my parents to eat when I can't afford groceries. Would that be an option for you, to eat at your parents?
