I know a lot of people have overlays, whether you made it yourself or had it commissioned you felt the need to make that Subeta pet just right for you. Personally I absolutely love overlays, I have a TON, I find they add that extra bit of a special touch to personalise your pets.

Was hoping with this board to show off a total of 2 of your overlays, your favourite one (whether you think it's just the prettiest/best drawn) and the one that means the most to you/most sentimental also put why.

Favourite overlay: Sony

Sony is by far one of my most prized overlays. took my vision of wanting a mech created from a PS4 and brought it to a whole new level. The design fits my character for Sony (also referred to as S0-N3) and I couldn't be happier. Microsoft has a very similar concept as well, but I dunno why the black and blue just sticks with me a bit more.

Means the most: Undercover Matt

Undercover Matt is more of a joke overlay, but it was also the first overlay I personally drew and submitted. Makes me laugh every time I see that scribbly mess on my dashboard. I just love the stupid thing.

i loooove overlays. i love seeing how creative people can get, whether they draw their overlays from scratch or edit existing subeta art. most of mine are the latter :"D

favorite: hayim like i said, real simple, haha. but it's my favorite because i think it turned out really well, and i actually forget that he even has an overlay sometimes because of how natural it looks. i'm pretty proud of it!

means the most: bantam i don't really have a sentimental attachment to any of my overlays tbh? but if i had to choose one it'd probably be bantam's. they're meant to be a gynandromorphic chicken (male on one side, female on the other; it's rare but it happens and it's really cool!), and considering i adore chickens and have wobbly gender feelings of my own this overlay is a bit personal to me. it's by no means perfect, and i might even redo it someday, but yeah. :)

Oh wow, I actually thought Hayim was the official overlay for the common dondanak. That is amazingly well done!

I don't have many overlays, but that doesn't make this any less tough to only pick two.

Favorite Potpourri's overlay is probably my favorite! Her overlay is one of only two overlays I've commissioned that were actually completed. 's style fits Potpourri's adorable-ness so well, and I've loved her art for years!

Means the most I'm not sure what to go off of when picking an important overlay. I'm going to go with Luvinie's (Forstbites) though. She's my first pet to have won the pet spotlight with my own art for the overlay. She makes me super proud because of that. This also is the most recent depiction of her character design.

Done by Shala, I remember redesigning this guy several times until I got him to where he is now, and Shala really brought him to life with this one. Plus, his style matched what I wanted so yay!

Pom's design was based off a Spitz puppy, which was the species of dog my old dog was when I was growing up. There's some sentimental value to his simple design and I really wanted to make a cute overlay.

Also, I used the same picture for a CI for a custom CW that I made like two or three years ago. :'D

Favorite Jazira done by Doll. I just love the style so much. It really suits Jazira's personality and I just love it so much!

Means the Most Gharial done by ❤ Gharials are my favorite crocodilian and a critically endangered species. I plan on making the pet a educational/information pet on the species (if I'm ever not lazy). CZAR DID SUCH AN AMAZING JOB ON IT. THE OVERLAY SIZE DOES NOT DO THE ART JUSTICE.

My overlays are all pretty simple, but I'll join the fun of the post anyways :P.

Favorite: Asset done by ! It just makes the winter soldier come alive! And Extreme by me. I love how the guitar got integrated into the subeta art.

Means the most: Bartleby and Sieben, both done by me. I guess I just love their characters a lot, and these overlays really works for them.

I actually don't have a lot of overlays since I've usually hid the pet image in most of my past pet profiles. The overlays I do have are usually human character art though I have a couple that are overlay edits of existing subeta art or re-draws. I've linked them to the profile they're displayed on since I haven't paid for the site overlay feature.

Anyway, I had this overlay done recently for Chui though I haven't had it posted on her profile yet because I'm waiting to get the funds done to have it coded into a pet profile first before I add it into her profile as an overlay. She's a flute that was turned into a wind spirit and that's her quad form.

I also had one done for Xian recently by which is on his profile. IN his case, since he's a god I basically just allowed him to have a quad form as a Chinese crane as well. Xian.

As for sentimentality I actually took a couple down because the coding for their profiles broke, but they're still saved on my computer though.

I did this one for my pet Constable and sentimentally I'm still somewhat attached to it since it was the only one at the time I had created by myself and he also won the spotlight in 2014 as well with that overlay attached. Constable All coding from that particular profile has since been taken down because it eventually broke though.

and this one is still up on Geppetto's profile. The image is hosted on photo bucket and the site is currently down for maintenance though. Geppetto. The user who did the overlay, is no longer active on site though.

Rythulian's overlay is probably my favourite.

They're a Journey (the game) fanpet, and their overlay was a lot of fun to make. Blending details from the Nostalgic Harvester and the game's character. Using Subeta's Saheric alphabet in place of the game's glyphs on the scarf. I'm very happy with the results. c:

As for means the most... I guess that would currently be Driln's overlay.

He's an Elder Scrolls fan pet, based on the Dark Elf character I have played since Morrowind. So I'm pretty attached to him. ^-^ His overlay is based on how he looked in Oblivion, since I consider that to be his true appearance and he's originally from Cyrodil, NOT Morrowind.

I'm noticing a trend with some overlay artists xD

I don't have that many, but if I had the money ALL my pets would have overlays. Not that the default art isn't great, subeta has some very talented artists... but they're all very particular characters and I need to make them perfect.

My favorite is Saya, also by Shala. I was absolutely floored when I saw this, it was pretty much perfect. The colors, the grace of his fins, everything about it, it just blew me away.

Means the most: Stinky, by Sir. Because she's my kitty and I miss my kitty. Not perfect, but close enough to make my heart ache a little when I look at it.

This is a super tough choice since I have a bunch of amazing overlays that I absolutely love. I went with the below by of my bb Aquila, though. It is so colorful and I love her design.

The overlay that means the most to me is hands down the one of my IRL dog, Vee. The overlay was done by (I think she's back, but I forgot her new name...) My puppy is my everything <3

I sadly do not have any overlays. I can never seem to keep my CSC or SP. Actually, I do have an one for Amidor, but I decided to use the large version for his profile.
