Will you be partying? Drinking? I know I can't be the only one. I actually went out last night with a bunch of my friends and had a pretty rockin' time and, of course, had a few drinks. I got to see a couple local bands I love perform downtown between two venues, and got to see some pretty awesome costumes as well. One of the bands performed in classic monster costumes: vampire, wolfman, frankenstein's monster and the creature from the black lagoon which were all badass. How they were able to sing so well through vampire teeth and a wolf snout is beyond me, though.
I also had the misfortune of trying my first Jagerbomb last night. I thought it was just fine... until I ordered another one. The next thing I knew I was in the McDonald's drive through (not driving, of course), desperately trying to score a ten-piece nugget with honey mustard between gulps of water and, uh, leaning out the car door. Not exactly my proudest moment. But I got home safely with my nuggets and merch and proceeded to pass out. Then fast forward to this morning when I had to work a Sunday lunch rush with what is definitely the worst hangover I've ever had. Worth it? Maybe not. But would/will I do it again? Probably.
Can't get hammered since I love the taste of liquor, booze and whatnot. It's a nasty habit that I don't want to touch with a ten feet pole. I'll be staying home, doing my homework and studying until I pass out. I have a class on Monday and two classes on Tuesday so I can't do anything exciting ha ha.
don't plan to. I went to a Halloween get-together/party on the 22nd dressed up as Wednesday Addams, but I'm really introverted and not a big fan of large parties so I usually just stay away from them. I didn't drink though, had to drive back and I don't drink at all if I'm the one driving.
Also, all the halloween parties at my university were yesterday since everyone has school on Monday, but there were multiple ones going on at once yesterday in the apartment complex I live in. I know my roommates went out to a couple parties yesterday at least. I had assignments to finish so chose to stay in the apartment.
Nothing wrong with abstaining from drinking, it's definitely not something I like to do super often. But with a holiday like Halloween it amplifies all the fun imo!
I bet your Wednesday getup was cool! Yeah, all of my co-workers and friends planned things around this weekend. There's some stuff going on tonight but nothing that's going to get me out of my apartment. I'd rather stay in and recuperate with some coffee and Netflix.
Not drinking or dressing up or anything. I have to work till 9:30 tomorrow night. I have a four hour break during the day but I have to be back at 6:30
Sounds like four hours of party time if you ask me. Throw on a last minute sexy cat outfit, then hit up your favorite local restaurant and have yourself a bloody mary. ;) You have to live up to your forum title, after all!
Nah. My boss had her rager last night but I just tucked under the covers and went to sleep. I did enjoy a mixology event a couple weeks ago. Cocktails paired with fancy schmancy canapes. Shoveled in a whole bunch of really good food and drinks. They had these prime rib stuffed yorkshires with horseradish sauce and strawberry balsamic glaze drizzled over them... It was so amazing. I can't begin to explain. Angels would cry.
What I am doing though is going to a live performance of Rocky Horror Picture Show with a couple friends and my mom. We got a table, and there is a promise of dessert at the break.
Everything you just described sounds so delicious, omg. A mixology event sounds awesome as well, I've seen some beautiful cocktails and the food science and layering of liquids behind it all is fascinating. My experience with making drinks only goes so far as a brief stint I worked as a bartender for a chain restaurant, but I'd love the opportunity to pick up on some more tricks.
And oh geez, don't get me started on RHPS. I guarantee you're going to have a great time. :) While the movie itself is phenomenal, nothing beats seeing it done by a live cast--and getting to shout out all the audience participation lines! Are you all dressing up?
(insert some clever wordplay involving Smashing Pumpkins) That sounds like a memorable (if remembered) night!! Are you quite familiar with your tolerance? I've never tried a Jager bomb, but it's on my list, amongst others. Also, did you yourself wear a costume?
Myself, I graduated this past June from college and now I'm at home being a bum for a little while. So no parties for me this year. ;-; I'll probably be having a movie marathon tomorrow with some friends and beer! Not sure what's on the list yet! :)
I actually had enough to drink Saturday when I was at the Ren Faire. So much wine
Here where I live Halloween sadly isn't a thing, this year they don't even have good horror movies on tv so this is just another useless evening. ^^;
I'm boring and am staying at home. XD
...I'm not one for big parties and I don't care to hang out with people much in general. Even if I was going out, I would not drink as I always have to drive when I go out. I'm the lightest weight ever.
Instead, I'm baking banana bread, slowly working on an essay, and drifting around on Subeta.
I am also staying at home. XD Working on some assignments and hoping to get enough tots to win a contest.

I'm not doing anything. I stayed home. I'm an introvert, so parties aren't my thing. I'm also diabetic, which means I can't drink (boo!). I haven't dressed up in the last two years because I can't find anything I like and the plus size costumes are all pretty crappy.
im playing subeta alone by myself because everyone is working halloween :( hopefully ill have more parties to go to throughout the week ! i already went to one small one (but no getting hammered unfortunately )
Oh yeah, I definitely remember it lol. I'm not usually one to black out/have a spotty memory when I drink. I know my tolerance pretty well, but I think it was the combination of energy drink + a heavy-handed poor that got me so drunk so quickly. Carbonation causes alcohol to enter your bloodstream a WHOLE lot faster than a regular cocktail. And I did dress up a little bit! I wore up a faux fur tail and a little fluffy wolf cap with ears, plus a white t-shirt that I drew on with fabric paint that said "Awoo!". I'm hoping to actually have the time to work on something cool next year~
I'm doing the same lol. I ended up picking up an extra shift at work today, so my boyfriend and I are just staying in and having some beer and watching some movies. :) But yes!! Getcha party on this week!
Ooh, those jagerbombs always tend to hit hard, haha! They're those kinds of shots that you can only take when you're already almost gone... and someone buys them for you (or at least that's how I always ended up drinking them...)
I dressed up with a friend of mine and we went to the mall (because we're old). I've never really partied on Halloween, even when I was in college it wasn't really a big thing. I like Halloween, but I find as I'm getting older I care about it less and less. Although eating the small chocolate bars is fun, haha!
I don't understand why people like to get drunk. I mean...I'm not judging you if you like to do it, for all that I really don't think it's a good idea, health-wise. I just don't get why people want to be out of control. And I definitely don't get why it seems to be cool to brag about how drunk you got.
As for Halloween parties, I haven't gotten to go to anything on Halloween for the past two years because I've worked each Halloween. I did go to a nice bonfire party at a family friend's house a few days before. And yeah, I had an alcoholic beverage there - someone made moonshine wine (it was really good, but I didn't drink to excess). I also went to a pumpkin-carving/scary movie party at a friend's house last week, but most of my friends don't drink. We/They aren't religious or anything, most have just had bad family experiences that made them say no to drinking.
Damnit, I ramble. I don't even remember if I came here with a point to make. XD
