Okay so I was looking in shops to buy another of the item "Dark Wash Flood Jeans" to ensure it is in my wardrobe but I am finding it is currently listed at 99 million SP? LIKE WHY? I know when I bought this item for my pet Urushihara, they were not near this price, as I know they were in fact extremely cheap, so what might have caused them to jump up so exorbitantly?

someone probably just bought them out and they are very inflated right now.

wow. But thats so weird. Why would anyone buy out an item and try to inflate it to such a high price? I mean, no one is going to buy it for that price, especially since the item is obviously still in circulation as it is only "rare" and not retired or anything.

The supply and demand theory. They are trying to monopolize the market, but as we know it usually never works to do this on subeta.

FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.

Yeah, I don't know why anyone is trying this with an item that I can't imagine would have enough demand to pay millions for, not only that but the item is only rare and lots of people will before too long get a lot of them again.

Chances are it's one of two reasons:

  1. Someone's trying to monopolize that and failed miserably because that rarely, rarely works on Subeta.
  2. Someone needed the super inflated price for art though that's normally done with trades but it used to make the "Overall Average Price Today" thing go weird.

So they are thinking that by over inflating it, that they can use the item to pay for art? I thought people who do art ask for pure SP.

If it's 99mil in the shop search, Idk what happened there.

No, people would put an item into their shop for a ridiculous sP price (ridiculous compared to the value of the item, I mean) and someone buys that in order to pay for their art. Most art is paid for via trades but I think I've seen it done this way too.

The 99m price is probably someone undercutting the 100m, because I did see it at 100m the first time I saw this thread.

Hmm I don't think it's just that. That item is usually uber cheap, like within the 2000-5000 SP range. But eh, I guess it's a mystery that won't be solved. thanks for your insight. I think I've gotten as much of an answer I can, so I think this can be locked now. Thank you everyone for your replies. <3
