hello there, im seven! i joined subeta last night and i think im in love with the pets feature.. the term 'overlay' came up several times during my lurk sessions in the forums and from what i gather, its a custom edited image of your pet? the guidelines state that the art must be edited official art but does it have to be the official art of your current pet? or can it be of any kind of pet?

what'll happen if my pet's hunger/happiness drops to 0? ;; (hopefully nothing bad ahaha) uhh, that's all for pets i think. how many different kinds of currencies are there in subeta, anyway? i see sP, the cash shop points and tokens? also quest points?? there's...a lot??? oh! and is there anything fun you'd suggest a newb to do?

hello and welcome!! the pets are my favorite feature of subeta too~

anyway an overlay doesn't necessarily have to be an edited version of the official subeta art, a lot of people completely re-draw the pet for example and i don't think it has to be the same art as the species/color either! i mean you should still be able to tell at least what species it is, but i've seen people use, say, a recolored bloodred pose for a hydrus pet, for instance. as long as you aren't trying to deceive people in thinking the pet is a different color/species than it is, you're good. c:

as for the currencies... yeah there are quite a few lmao sp and csc are pretty straightforward o: the wizard tokens are awarded from wizard quests and can be used to zap pets, buy from the token shop and, uh, probably something else i'm just not remembering now ahaha. anyway i'd recommend holding onto those because sometimes some really cool stuff stocks in the token shop (such as potions!) quest points are awarded randomly when finishing quests and forum points are awarded randomly when posting |D

there was a guide somewhere on the forums with a bit of a tutorial on overlays, but i can't seem to find it again now orz it was mostly about how to de-saturize (is this even a word lol) the pet image to color over it iirc

Among all of the other things people have mentioned, in the way of quests you should definitely check out Pete's and Cinthia's because both of them are giving out exclusive items while Morostide is going on. I have the quest widget added to my side bar which make them a breeze to go through, along with the search bar. And those things you can edit under the "Personal" tab in the customize sidebar tab. :)

A great source of income will be from A. Quests B. Your shop.

There are lots of things you can do;

• Train your pets & battle
• Collect achievements *Do the dailies

As I am quite getting the hang of it, I would say these are the important ones. You will and can usually learn a lot from forums. Honestly, majority of the people on Subeta are extremely kind and helpful. You'll have a great time.
