I went to the Doctor's today. It was kind of a bullshit appointment. I had a forum for my Doctor to sign and he tells me that he only signs them in the mornings. So, I decided to talk to him about another issue. I was put on Nozinan by my psychiatrist. He told me that it's an anti-psychotic drug (I don't have any of those issues, other than anxiety, mild OCD and Borderline Personality Disorder) and can be used for a sedative to make me sleep (I take cipralex to treat all disorders). My Doctor said "Why are you on those? Who put you on them and what dose do you take?" Well, I told him I take 50mg of Nozinan and I thought his eyes were going to pop out of the sockets. He told me not to stop taking them and he'll wean me off and switch me to something else, but I need to bring all my meds to my next appointment (I was like, dude. I came here for nothing).
I decided to read up on Nozinan and one of the side effects is tardive dyskinesia and it's at a 12% rate. I want to come off of it now. I want to stop taking them.
I'm sorry you've not had a great experience with healthcare! I know it must be scary reading up on side effects on medications, but please please listen to your doctor when he says he'll help wean you off them. I'm sure you know this, but stopping medication suddenly can be dangerous. See if you can just hang on to be weaned off at the rate that the doctor sets for you - and in the mean time it might be worth having a discussion with your Psychiatrist to find out why you were put on those medications (without a proper explanation of the side effects). 2nd opinions never hurt especially when it comes to your health.
How are you feeling now?
I stopped taking them. It's been two nights now.
You're right. I never got a paper with the list of side effects.
While I understand your fear and concern, stopping your medication while having certain mental conditions can be more harmful than anything else.
Stay safe.
I finally found the side effects. They're horrible, so I'll start taking my pills.
I think you've made the right. You'll probably feel a bit wobbly for a few days but the doctor will advise you how much to cut down (and when) which should really help cut down on any side effects your feeling. I'm sorry you're having a rough time of it <3
