What do I wrong why I don't get a blank avatar as basic?

If you go to your wardrobe and click on the skins tab. Click "remove" and in the wardrobe you should have a blank base to work with.

Then, if you click on "base" in the wardrobe you can choose the base color, eye shape and color, nose, mouth, and whether your avatar will have cleavage/not. Then, you can dress your avatar as you want. When you're all done click "save avatar". I hope I explained that easily enough for you!

Drag the face layers on the left down below your base. I'm not sure why the no eyes/etc. options were removed but that will also hide them.
