So listen, this is really a nice thing y'all do, and I'm sure people who get medals appreciate it. But, as mentioned in a ticket to another staff member, this does absolutely nothing for me.
I have a subscription, I know I'm not the only one. This "extra time" gets added to the end of our total time left, and on our scheduled renewal day....it disappears. I can screenshot the ticket with staff if anyone needs it, but this is something that happens to everyone with an active subscription. We don't get the bonus days, we don't get the extra added time. Unless we choose to cancel our subscription, basically what we get is a shrug and a sorry the site was non-functional for you too.
When I brought this up (because I wrongly assumed my subscription would wait to renew last time), we discovered that it does not stop it from renewing at the normal date, and that it overrides any remaining bonus time. Staff was kind enough to compensate me with CSC for that bonus time, I doubt that would happen if I made a ticket this time (since the amount of time due to me in refund is so much greater). Maybe it will, who knows.
I think that something needs to be done to reevaluate how compensation for lost days/hours is given. I wasn't sure if this was the correct place for this, if not I guess it can go to Suggestions and Ideas (although it will never be looked at there likely).
...Wow, that's a huge bummer. I wish I knew that; I have an active subscription as well, and didn't think about how they work where it concerns bonus time.
I only know because when we were given the 3 day bonus for the last round of downtime, I assumed that would adjust my renewal date. And then it didn't...I had time left and it renewed and was back to only having 30 days on it and I was like...wait what?

Wow, that's unfair. :x I hope it can get fixed for active subscribers! No reason you guys should miss out on bonus time just because you have a GA. That sucks.
Yeah, this should really be fixed - very unfair to continuous paying customers.
Wow, yeah, I'd be upset, too. People with subscriptions to Subeta definitely deserve reward for their loyalty, not less than other users.
To piggy back off of this, I was a regular user that was given a week worth of gold account time. I believe this went into effect on Friday. I can't be certain because I was offline from Thursday until this morning due to having people from out of town visiting. SO I missed out on some of the compensation it appears. It would have been really nice if staff would have given users the option to start this free time when they wanted, rather than automatically starting it (especially since the site is still running poorly). I am thankful I was not a GA player before, or this "fix" would be even more frustrating. :/
I just talked with the programmers and they're looking into some coding that will automatically run that CSC refund/cash out when when we give out GA time like this! I guess there isn't a great way to extend your GA time/change the subscription date.
That's some awesome news, . :3 My subscription billed just a few hours ago, so I look forward to the fix or whatever happens.
Make a ticket for now, but it should be handled automatically in the future. :)
Thank you for the heads up about that! I had just made a ticket and was looking into it for me as well. I will update my ticket with her that programmers are working on it and see if she can process the credit through that ticket.
I also notified all UAs in our UA support chat, so everyone should be on board by the time they come online again! I wish the fix could be retroactive, but for now they'll have to process this one manually. Thanks for the heads up!

What happened to giving out 1 Week Gold Account Medals? Wouldn't that be an easier solution. Either you get the medal and use it, or sell it for it's worth.
Or were those discontinued and I just don't pay attention?
if you have a Gold Account Subscription, file a ticket to get time added for the GA time that was given out. In the future, this will be done automatically but as of right now I don't know exactly how that will work. if you have any other questions, ping :)

Great to hear staff have made a fix, but it seems like whenever there's an issue it seems to gt fixed much more quickly if someone makes a board about it. Squeaky wheel I guess.
