Gone for 2 years and my most favorite name is taken, also Spunk. Even Neo kept my names after 3 yrs....
Extremely dissapointed, fare thee well Subeta.
that's a shame, i'm so sorry :( i lost my pet names too when i got back. i hope you decide to stay with us.
If in over 600 days you couldn't find time to log on, Subeta doesn't really hold any importance to you.. You're offered a free name change and you still have all your things! (And Neo did that huge purge a few years ago didn't they? They do clear out eventually too it seems!)
Astrielle is so stickin' cute ?
Sorry your account was purged, but I think (HBD!) is correct. It would have only required one login to remove your account from the list, but 600+ days of consecutive inactivity -- I'm surprised you remember your pet names!

I feel you. I understand that sometimes life gets in the way and won't fault you for it. I've been inactive on sites before and have lost names, so I know that it can be a blow. Fortunately, there are always some nice names freeing up and available!
...
I'm a little annoyed right now. From my sMail, I can see that I was on in June 2015... perhaps even in July 2015. After how long can people just take my pets name? I've spent hundreds of dollars on this website in the past and for my pets name to be just taken is quite rude, to be frank.
Real life happens. That doesn't mean all of us who are not spending hours a day on here simply do not care.
One year of inactivity
At least, you still have an account. They used to be deleted
No, I was out of the country (US) with limited net for over a year and a half. Thank for the info.
Accounts used to be deleted after one year of inactivity. Now, they're retained, but once you log on you can change inactive pet names.
In any case, subeta has always had a one year inactivity rule.
and for reference, I wouldn't necessarily say it's rude. Accounts on inactive accounts go up for anyone to take after one year of inactivity. This rule has always been in place on site.
In the past, there were site wide account purgings of inactive accounts so that people could grab names that were up for grabs.
Now, accounts automatically clear after one year of inactivity, or more precisely, the accounts are still on site, but the names on the account go up for grabs.
All pet and account names are reopened if an account is inactive for a year. In the past, when the site had less server space, accounts were deleted and purged after being inactive for a year. If you came back after a year you had to start over completely from scratch. The current way it is done can be considered rude and there are plenty of reasons why someone might not be able to log in for a year, but the truth of the matter is that a large majority of inactive accounts have been completely abandoned. The current method is a compromise. Names are freed up for active users, but the account and all of its possessions (both item and currency and the pets themselves) remain for the inactive user to reclaim if they return. And if a name has been taken during an absence, the original owner gets a free name change for the pet it was originally attached to.
Edit: Whoops, see this was already answered. Sorry for the repeated information.

Whether it is rude or not is a matter of opinion not fact. :) I can see how it is a compromise, however. Rather have my account and everything than the name, of course. Thanks again for the additional information!
1 year is plenty of time to try and log in once just to prevent it from clearing. I was not on much last year, but I made sure to remember to log on at least a few times. Not just that, but they send at least 1 email informing you the account is due for clearing. If you do not have a current email on your account it is not really the site's fault.
As it was mentioned, they used to completely delete the accounts so you would need to start all over entirely. It is nice now that you get free name changes for names that are taken as well as all of the items you have on your account. They also do not wipe your profile or pet pages.
I am definitely sure it sucks to lose the pet names, especially when they have sentimental value.
This inactive name rule is why I check up on this site at least once a month or more. I'd hate to lose my pet names. I get stalkers every few days wanting to adopt my pets <_< I don't no life on this site as much anymore but I still love my pets. Sorry to hear about you losing your favorite pet name Kelsea :(
