Scientists have officially pronounced the Great Barrier Reef dead. It breaks my heart. There was no effort made by the Australian Government to protect and save it. It was home to hundreds of animals and now they're decaying at the bottom of the ocean. I really wish an effort would've been made. The reef was 25 million years old.

I'm going to post a link to scientist's take on this.
Right now, 93% of it is bleached, but keep in mind that the writer who originally spread the story is not a biologist. There may be hope for the reef yet.
and for further perusal. This is from the marine park authority that protects the reef in Australia.
It details their plans to hopefully save what remains of the reef for future generations. The reef is in trouble, but it's not 100% dead yet though.
But that 93% will eventually die off, considering the Crown Of Thorns Starfish (COTS) is an invasive species and feeds on corals. They're already weak and the corals won't have a chance to defend themselves against the COTS.
Unless we don't minimize the way the hearth is heating nothing will save the arctic, the polar bears, the barrier reef and any living being on this planet.
What's money when the entire planet is dying lmao. Taxing water? Oxygen? Come on. Folks are hoping to go live on Mars and other "exo planet". Please, only the rich will go and we are all bound to die.
The thing is the Great Barrier Reef isn't fully dead which is the impression that the article this is based on is about. It is true that it is moribund, but still false to say it's completely dead.
The most recent surveys done in Australia( results were released in June) and still on-going has it at 22% officially dead.
