I want to enter an HA image in to a contest here, and as far as I know, the Share function still doesn't work. So I am using imgur. This service is apparently one of those apps that requires you to 'intuit' how the fuck it works instead of just explaining it. This is no good for me.
is something where if I click it it takes me to imgur and shows the image to me, but doesn't show the image here. I used
When you upload the image, there should be a "get share links" button or something like that, there isn't just a direct image link on there but there is one with the image tags already included. Otherwise when you go to your images, if you click on the one you want, the direct image link will be on the right-hand side (it's the 2nd one down).
tl;dr You just need the one with the .png or .gif or whatever extension at the end.
you can right-click the image and click 'open image in new tab/window' or just drag the image itself into the url bar to get the direct image link. clicking on an image you've uploaded will also give you a sidebar like this, so you could also just copy the direct link from there - actually, it even includes the bbcode link so you could just copy that one and you won't have to type out the image tags yourself.

Thank you all for your helps!
how do you link directly, in order to get the .png on the end like you did? What steps do you take?
I ask you because apparently imgur looks different on my computer than the images the other folks have pasted here. I have a chromebox and it's cheap and fast as all heck, but a lot of things come out weird.
thank you for that, I'm missing a .png is why it didn't work. For now, I'm just typing '.png' on the end of everything, and this is a solution.
how do I get to 'view and edit post'? I clicked on the dropdown next to my username. Is Images - View Image Info - Generate Image Links the way to go?
when you click "images" in the dropdown under your username you should see a gallery of your uploaded images, and clicking any image should pull up a larger version of it, and next to the larger version of the image should be that sidebar, but even if the sidebar isn't there right-clicking the enlarged image will usually give you the option to either open it in a new tab/window, or copy the image address.
