For those who were not around for the first or second term, let me explain a little about our balls! This will mostly be a roleplaying event, however there will be games and contests as well. The catch: it will be held outside of the cult in the [size=12pt]Roleplaying forums! This means you will be able to bring a date, a friend, or a whole group of friends not part of the cult to dance, have some punch, and partake in the general merriment. Please take some time before the Ball starts to read the rules for the Roleplaying forums.

There will also be an HA contest held in the Avatar Contests & Games forums! And as a special addition for this term, we will also be holding an art contest in the Art Contests forum.

As always, each ball will have a theme! This term the staff and Prefects worked together to choose the theme. Since we are rapidly approaching Halloween, we decided to embrace the holiday this term!

I'm happy to announce that this term's theme is Halloween!

The ball is set to start Saturday, October 15th. Please note that this date is tentative and is subject to change.

As always, I am looking for live entertainment.

To work with the theme, we are currently opening auditions to ghosts that can provide entertainment. We are looking for at least one singer, but will also be looking for musicians and unique acts as well.

Contest Rules: 1.) No school uniforms! 2.) You must give your character a name. It should be a different character from your student character. 3.) Please let us know what your character's act is. If they are a musician, you must tell us what instrument your character plays (even if it is displayed in your avatar). 4.) Your character MUST be a ghost. If you are unable to make your character translucent, that is OK. We will be able to edit HAs after the contest is over. However, it should be obvious that your character is a ghost. 5.) No "Muggle magician" acts, please! Other Muggle acts are fine, however we do not feel that "magicians" would be very fitting.

(Your character should be able to work well with others!)

Each member may only submit one avatar, and each avatar to successfully adhere to the contest rules and theme shall be awarded 10 House Points! 5-10 Human Avatars will then be chosen to be part of our entertainment. The creators of the chosen HAs will receive an extra 20 House Points each!

This here is DJ Dillard John Deejay, or DJ DJ DJ, if you can dig it. He's a mashup master, king of the cross fade, boss of the baseline. Hands down THE disc jockey for all your wizarding ball needs!!

I tried to make my character a ghost (like the ones in the movie with basically corporeal forms). So we'll see how it works out. lol :P EDIT: I realize now (after looking at some other entries) that my character is supposed to be white/cream/brown .... I didn't realize this. But I like her how she is, her skin is blue/ghost like though! :D

Her name is Ravin and she is an animal trainer. The animals she keeps with her are her loyal companions that she has trained to do fun and entertaining things. :D

This is Alicia Caricia she likes to entertain her public by playing the harmonica and making animal balloon pets that would chose random viewers as their new masters until their last amount of air is gone. It's a real talent the way she uses her hands for both things at the same time, you have to see it to believe it!

Merlin Pendragon- Slytherin

Tehre's actually no requirement on skin color, as long as they are a ghost. It's mostly an aesthetic choice on the part of most, and I like the pale-but-not-white color you used.

This is Adelheim Koller, an Austrian Harpsichordist who died from the Pneumonic Plague after a his second night's performance in Venice, Italy. He is classically trained, and knows how to entertain an audience.

This is Lunessa Celestia the Moth Whisper. No one knows quite how she died...some theorized she was a white woman...but never showed violent tendencies. All one can say is she has an enchanting presence and her dancing moths moving in patterns are quite mesmerizing.

Alicia Broadstorm She died in the 80's at a rock concert. There was a riot and she was trampled. She plays the drums in her afterlife.

Meet Sævald Jómundursson, who had been a quite famous poet in Iceland. He later came to the British Royal Court where he had many admirers and was always a charming man. Sadly, his life was ended early on the hands of an unknown jealous person, but Sævald continued writing poems and although he's a ghost now, one can still say he kept his alluring attitude.

Elizabeth Amalia Covington, Slytherin

Olga Smirnov was a famous contortionist from Moscow, Russia. She quickly rose to fame and became popular among Russian nobles. The Tsar eventually heard of Olga and wanted a special show. During the performance, Olga believed she had finally achieved perfection and turned her head the wrong way, snapping it instantly. Even in death, Olga still strives for greatness and wishes to entertain as many people as possible

Clarrissa Smoaks Violinist

Clarrissa was a violinist when she was still alive and she still performs in her own ghostly manner in her Death. She died unexpectedly while performing on the stage in the late 1800's but didn't let her death stop her from living her passion.

A young Irish witch who was "accidentally" blown to smithereens during a "friendly" duel. Always one with loads of humor, she took her demise in stride. Be it a bit gruesome, her party trick is to use her needle-thin blade to slice apart her countless stitches which are all that hold her ghostly parts together. Not for those with a weak stomach, but certainly an act that watchers will rave about long after the ball has ended.
