For example: having a "Thanks for coming, hope to see you soon" sign at the door of a funeral home as you're leaving or having that at a hospital. Politely wishing misfortune upon you.

can you guys think of any good intended to be polite phrases and the worst places to find them?

- Bahaha, what you said reminds me of when the nurse in Pokemon centers in the games say "we hope to see you again" after healing your party.

When the receptionist at the hospital asks "how are you today?". Like, I'm an absolute wreck, that's why I'm here, but thanks for asking :P

Or when my face was swollen from dental surgery and the dentist casually asked me if I had any plans for the rest of the day. Like, "crying and codeine tbh".

Or like you said, when the vet receptionist says "see you soon" xD

Or when you get bad news for whatever reason, and the person delivering it ends with "have a nice day"... :/

My friend once told me a story of how his mom said "omg that restaurant is THE BOMB!" at an airport.... She then was tackled down by security because they though she was hiding a bomb. Never utter the word bomb at an airport. ^^;

At my job (a hotel) we have to say "My pleasure" instead of "you're welcome". So one time there was a storm and lots of people lost power so we had a lot of people calling and asking if we rooms available but we were full and they were like "oh ok thanks" and we had to reply "my pleasure" as if it gave us delight to give them bad news lol

I thought the same thing about the Pokemon Center too at first, hehe.

In the vet's defense that could be for shots or just a check up or something lol
