Today, I have a human avatar challenge for you all! As you all should know from the Sorting Hat, Godric Gryffindor favored being brave. As most of you also know, Gryffindor was accomplished in both Wizard dueling as well as Muggle dueling. He was masterful in wandwork as well as swordplay--"
Miss Kain is cut off with a loud THUD from the grounds. She walks over to the window and looks down at the commotion.
"Oh dear! How did they get here?" She turns to the students again. "There are dangerous creatures rampaging the grounds! I better go help round them up."
She bolts out the classroom. You decide to follow her.
This week's theme is Bravery in the Face of Danger!
Your challenge this week is to "fight" against a dangerous creature. The creature choice is up to you. Show your bravery (or attempt to--being scared is OK!) and defend the castle.
Some rules for this challenge: 1.) You must include a creature in your HA. We would prefer one that is canon to the series, but you can choose one that is not canon. However if you choose one that is outside of canon, please tell us about it! 2.) You must either brandish a wand or a sword. 3.) Bonus points may be awarded to particularly creative avatars!
Each member may only submit one avatar, and each avatar to successfully adhere to the challenge rules and theme will be awarded 10 House Points!
This challenge will end on Sunday, September 11 at 11:59PM.

Mae is a Ravenclaw, not a Gryffindor. Why is there nothing about dangerous-flying-fire-breather things in this book?! Help?

When Hagrid said the arachnids and acromantulas have been running rampant since Aragog's death, he REALLY wasn't kidding.
Why did all the creatures went wild? I can't keep up with all of these or can I? Wolves, snakes, and even phoenixes!

Why is this Venomous Tentacula obsessed with me?? though Fable as she struggled with the frustrating plant.

If anyone has a problem with the use of a plant as a creature, please let me know so I can make another HA and get points.
From the Wikia description:
- The Venomous Tentacula is a green, spiky, toothsome plant with mobile vines that try to grab living prey.
- The Venomous Tentacula is a giant eyeless head with fangs, though the shape of its mouth tends to vary, along with many leaves surrounding it. It also has many large vines for appendage (that act like arms and as aforementioned can be severed by Diffindo), which may or may not also have separate heads of their own at the ends.
I felt this constituted it as a adequate creature, but I don't want to cause any problems and loose house points if its not! Thank you! :)

As if being chased by a three-headed dog wasn't enough, an enormous salamander crossed Elizabeth's way, so she had to work up the courage to fight these creatures. She's not a brave person, that's why she relies on magic instead of Gryffindor's sword.

The gytrash is trying to attack, so Luck chooses to defend with her wand, creating light that will chase it away. She is quite terrified though.

I tried finding a substitute for a gytrash that looks white as pictured on the Harry Potter wiki, but I failed. On the actual wikipedia page for gytrash it said that they're black so I went that route.

Apparently no matter what Gaia likes to look good at all times. She is however battling against a snake and some scary killer birds. Don't let her face fool you... she is hiding her fear to freak out later!

Without giving herself too much time to second-guess her instincts, Keliora rushed from the classroom following Miss Kain's unexpected departure. She could have sworn Miss Kain was muttering about trolls on her way out, but Keliora tried to put it out of her mind. Trolls were scary and she should be running toward the safety of her tower dormitory instead of out into the fray if trolls were involved in creating the havoc on the grounds!
She zipped through the halls, pausing along the way at various suits of armour to steal bits and pieces of their equipment to protect herself against this threat. She armed herself with a small blade she found inside one of suits and had her wand at the ready as well, repeating stunning spells to herself under her breath to the point where her wand began to spark.
Finally she burst through the heavy oak front doors of the castle and looked around wildly, trying to see where Miss Kain had gone. While she couldn't spot Miss Kain, she could see plumes of smoke coming from the edge of the Forbidden Forest. She ran as fast as she could in that direction, coming to an abrupt halt outside of the groundskeeper's hut.
She was somewhat bemused to realize the danger may have been over-stated. Not all trolls are created equal, it would seem!

How to Combat a Troll in 13 Steps
- Prevent knees from knocking together.
- Confront troll.
- Panic!
- Remember you're a Gryffindor.
- Pull self together.
- Prevent knees from knocking together.
- Recall tiny vial of Felix Felicis in pocket.
- Remember you gave it to this morning.
- Swallow lump in throat to stop shriek.
- Repeat "I am Gryffindor" while raising wand.
- Cast Reducio several times.
- Get insanely lucky!!!
- Smile in victory.
(Fainting after the last step is optional but somehow refreshing--unless you're caught by the head of your house, and then it's embarrassing!)
The school needs help huh with a werewolf? What? You to send a werewolf out to fight a werewolf? Okay, Magnus is in mid transformation so do be careful.

Cherry knows how to handle dragons...though her clothes will shred and she'll suffer burns and bruises, she just has to get the right angle, & Pop! The beasties revert to cute widdle babies <3
