I have some pet art and I am kind of in a gray area.. A part of me wants to use it(But some I don't know the usernames and what if its of people who have left subeta? Yes its that old), but another part is like..well it would be bad to not credit them..do I just put them as anon artist? I was thinking of what if for some insane reason I wanted to do the pet spotlight? Would I not be allowed to do it because I don't know their names anymore? idk, jes..idk.

did you commission the art? unless permission was given to leave out credit, it's usually considered impolite and not done. perhaps you could do a googlesearch on the image itself to see if any results pop up, or ask if people recognise it over at art discussion?

Even if the artist has left the site you still need to credit them. You must credit any and all work not done by you. Some artists have a very recognizable style so if you post them on art discussion you might get some answers.

If you go to Google Images, look in the search bar and there should be a little camera icon that you can press, and you can either upload it by URL or from your computer.

And I feel you, I've been in the same boat with forgetting to jot down who did the work/overlay and having to get rid of the overlay because I can't use it for a custom. :c It sucks when they change names too and you have no clue who they changed to.
