I read that folks were paying millions for Baking Powder, but if the kit has it then Baking Powder is not worth that much. How random is one of these things? Does a Baking Kit always have Baking Powder?

i don't have links to news posts or forum posts for this, but as i understand it, the baking kit became 50/50 chance for ingredients for maple cookies or endeavor rice pudding after the rice pudding recipe was added and people spiked prices for rum extract, etc. (i'm like 90% sure my last three kits were for rice pudding, but i'm also v unlucky, so.)

aha I see the Endeavor Rice Pudding does not use Baking Powder. But if you needed to bake anything at all for the Raffle as opposed to some specific thing, you could make this something even if it's not a Baking Powder thing.

Thank you!

The Baking Kit gives out the ingredients for a level one baked good (maple cookies or the pudding in this case) as well as a few random baking ingredients. So you have a chance at getting baking powder, but it's not a guarantee. We've been giving out baking ingredients via quests though to help get some of the prices down for things (especially since some people have to bake for the raffle). :)

this is not odd, it's happening to everyone and appears to be a deliberate move by TPTB. I thought it was weird that staff would do this, because you can spend a million sP at the Millionaire Center and buy yourself a Baking Kit. If folks have enough sP to inflate Baking Powder and if folks have enough sP to buy it from them at inflated price, then there's no reason at all that Subeta shouldn't be skimming all that sP OUT of the system by reminding everyone they can buy a Baking Kit if they want to.

It's not like they're doing the same thing about Empty Vials, or if they did speculators erased what they did already.

are they required by the Raffle to bake something specific?

I can understand if it is a lot of different items, as was mentioned above, but it is just baking powder (now up to eight), I was not aware of the price of it beforehand or much else, as I don't bake.

No, you just have to attempt to bake something. So a user could pick any one of the recipes.

's true that other things than Baking Powder are going out for quests now, and this is very kind of staff to do. Right now, I am two-thirds done with my daily quests, and I have seventeen Baking Powders.

I don't bake here on Subeta either. It's just another Genetech thing and as long as it doesn't have Achievements, & I can buy all the resulting foods for my eaterpet much cheaper than by making them. But I do Vend for Achievement and Baking Powder/Baking Soda/Cornstarch are all of Vendable rarity and they all sell for a lot even when the Raffle is not happening. It's not like the Old Wizard doesn't pay you for doing his quests, so the Wizard Tokens are essentially free, so why not Vend right?

Which is a good thing, as I personally bake very often and my favourite recipes include baking powder as an ingredient. :D Plus, I don't like running out of baking ingredients.

Yeah, I never used to get baking items for quests or at least that's how it seemed, but yesterday I got a ton of baking powder, like 10 or more. But then I checked and it seems the price has fallen so I suppose it's either less rare or not in as much demand as when the Baking started.

I've not baked up till this point and being able to get ingredients is, ick. Is there a place other than user shops and trades to get this items (and other than kits because I really don't want to dish out another 1mil for it)

many but not all baking ingredients will Vend. Look and see if they have a rarity of less than sixty five. The machine in question is Celebration Gift. it may also be like Scrolls, in which it pays to have more skil. If you have eighty INT you can make level 2 scrolls which do not use the Empty Vial, and if you are level 2 baker you may be able to find ingredients for those foods more cheaply because most people don't have any baking skill.

Getting to level 2 in baking probably will cost you some Baking Kits, vendings, or scrounging around to start with though. Me I'm selling enough extras from vending to pay for the kits, but since quests are dropping food I dunno how long this will last.

I have no idea if it is easier to bake at leve2 I'm still on level1 myself and so far it's a buy kit open kit bake something wander back later at some random time, it worked. Kinda dull, really.

I think there will be less demand for ingredients for level 2 recipes because many less people can make them.
