Add either the broth or water, seasoning and the trimmings in with them and cook until the potatoes are done (until tender). As far as storing, wait until the food's cooled down plenty then put in the freezer bowls and freeze.
You can also do the same but cut up the chicken breasts and put them in it with some of the lemon pepper
thanks.Ive never used mostly frozen stuff and non frozen in crockpot before..Ive been trying to cook stuff that's in my freezer so It doesn't freezer burn or go bad. Some of it ive got no clue what to do with..Like 1 pound of ground venison..and some other deer meats..

@ moon12216 - You can cook any sort of ground meat into a crock pot. Whenever you have ground meat in a crock pot recipe, always cook the meat first. If you put the meat with everything else, it becomes mushy and a bit under cooked.
-Put the ground venison in the fridge for a day to let it defrost. -Add a bit of broth/water, dry seasoning, and ground venison into the crock pot. Cook it on low for about an hour or until the meat is brown. *It's important to not overcook the meat, as it'll become rubbery. Also, don't add too much broth/water since that'll prevent the meat from cooking. -Add in veggies and a bit more broth/water and cook until veggies are tender.
I've never cooked with deer meat, so I have no idea what spices and veggies work with it.
If only it was a few years later, I would have a cooking site. ;^; I do think the main cooking sites lack communication between the users, and I was wanting to have one that does have forums and such.
I got penne pasta and a jar of pasta sauce.NO clue how to use it in a crockpot.I know the pasta will turn to mush if it's added to soon.As far as my meat in my freezer I honestly got no clue what all is in there..I would so love a way to get advice on cooking instead of just getting recipes that use terms and ingredients ive never heard of.Also searching by things like cooking in crockpot,stove,oven,ect..would be nice. That way I stop getting recipes I can't do cause I have no stove or oven at the moment.

@ moon12216 - The pasta might require a bit of experimentation. When I looked it up, I saw that cooking pasta in a crock pot takes about 30 min.
-Heat the sauce. Low or high temperature doesn't make much of a difference. -Once the sauce is hot, add the pasta and some water. The sauce needs to be a bit thin so the pasta can cook all the way. -After 30 min, remove the food from the crock pot. Leaving it in the pot would make the pasta soggy.
Another way I can think of is:
-Heat up the sauce. Add water if it's too thick. -Remove the pot from the heater. -Add the pasta in the sauce. Use the lid to close the pot. -Check every 10 minutes or so to see how the pasta is cooking.
And I know what you mean with recipes using a bunch of specific, hard to find things. I've learned how to modify recipes and even create my own based on what I have available. (I use a lot of dry spices because they're cheap and last a long time for example.)
I don't know how useful this will be, but here's cheap meals that only use one dish. A lot of skillet meals can work in the crock pot, with modifications. You might also want to try googling "crock pot only recipes".
Edit: Something that would be better to do is google "crock pot cooking advice", "slow cooker cooking tips" or something similar.
Ive got 2 packages of muffin mix and a can of peaches..Can I use the muffin mix to make peach cobbler?Im still trying to learn all the different ways to use things such as muffin mix.I know cake mix can be used for cookies.Wish My school had taught more than what they did I took 5 years of home economics. But basically it was all deserts other than smoothies.

- Yep! From my experience, baking mixes are pretty much the same, so you can use them interchangeably with modifications. What do you have to cook with again? Do you have just the crock pot or some other things?
5 years of home economics? That's a lot, but sad that they didn't teach much.
I basically have a crockpot, electric skillet and a microwave to cook with.Other than a small electric grill you could make a grilled cheese on and cover the whole grill with. but I have no ac in my house the unit went out so I got 2 fans and a small window unit going it's been up in the 90's.
