Some of the Professors and I where cleaning some of the dungeons that haven’t been used for years. We came across a chest and inside we found a boggart! This gave me an idea for this week’s HA Challenge.

This week's theme is BOGGARTS!

Your challenge this week is to create a human avatar of what you think your Boggart might be. If you already know you may represent that, or you may create something different!

Some rules for this challenge: 1.) No Hogwarts robes. 2.) Be Creative, but please keep it PG-13. 3.) Describe the fear and what it would turn to when using the spell Riddikulus.

Each member may only submit one avatar, and each avatar to successfully adhere to the challenge rules and theme will be awarded 10 House Points!

This challenge will end on Friday, August 26 at 11:59PM.

A boggart is a shapeshifter that usually lurks in dark spaces. It has no definite form, taking the shape of that which is most feared by the person who encounters it.

[img align=left]http://i.imgur.com/6TZNg5s.png[/img] Eros fears corpses. The sight of decaying and rotten bodies will either cause Eros to run, if he's not paralyzed with fear. In the latter situation, there's a good chance he might black out or become unresponsive. The fear stems from him falling into a hole and stumbling into a dead body once as a kid. He was trapped with the dead body for at least 5 minutes.

Casting the Riddikulus spell, The corpse will start singing Thriller and dancing to it.

Eros Sigurd, Slytherin

((OOC: Magnus' fear is to be unwanted but seeing as I cannot figure out how to depict that, I went with spiders)) With the fear of spiders, one would probably get an acromantula. To combat this with the Riddikulus spell, would remove the spider's legs having it bounce around helplessly.

Merlin was confronted with a boggart and it turned into his greatest fear: the questing beast! His fear of being touched or bitten by it or for it to harm someone else was very strong, almost too strong to remember it wasn't real. He stepped back slowly but grab hard to his wand and said the spell: "Riddikulus!!"

Suddenly the beast had a gas mask on, it tried to take it off without success. Everyone laughed at it's attempts to get rid of the mask, it was now unable to bite anyone, and frustrated by this humiliation it disappeared.

Garrett has hated spiders, and is terrified of walking into webs and being covered in crawling spiders. He has no idea why he is afraid of them, he just always has been. If it were to happen, he would run away screaming, tearing off his clothes as he went..so of course, that is the form the boggart took Shaking, and fighting his flight impulse, he took a deep breath, focused his thoughts and cast the Riddikulus spell to combat this horrifying image. The spiders all jumped down and pulled out lightsabers, and began to wave them around at each other. Garrett laughed and thought 'Jedi Spiders ', I can't be afraid of that !

Facing Luck, the boggart turns into a huge, evil looking dog that's covered in blood; it has huge teeth and claws. The fear comes from when she was a small child, a dog tried attacking her and her mother. Her mother got them both to safety with no injuries, but the experience lurks as a hyperbole in the subconscious of Luck's mind. The boggart dog tries to approach, but when countered with the Riddikulus spell... The boggart swiftly transforms and the blood has cleaned up in an instant. The dog is now smaller and wearing a comically huge pink clown wig and tutu, sporting a dumb expression. It wobbles around while being laughed at.

Fable walked up to challenge the boggart. She had thought that it would turn into her loved ones dead...but instead the air grew cold and all the lights flickered out. Looming down on her was...a dementer!

Fable gasped and shakily raised her wand. "r..r..riddikulus..r..r..RIDDIKULUS!" she mustered out and finally with determination.

The lights flickered back on as a wind struck the dementer and off flew its cloak...what it revealed was:

A stack of cute bunnies...noses wiggling and ears twitching. Fable giggled and resisted the urge to run and pick them up.

Ernessa hates clowns. With the riddikulus spell the clown turns into a balloon animal and deflates with loud obnoxious fart noises

Although Elizabeth is scared of the unknown darkness as well, her biggest fear are centipedes. So, when it was her turn to face the boggart, it turned into a giant centipede, lurking in the dark, but quickly coming closer with its tiny feet. Elizabeth shuddered when she looked at the creature and firmly gripped her wand at the approaching animal. Its pair of antennae was shaking slightly and Elizabeth quickly sorted her mind and said "Riddikulus!" The centipede disappeared into a small plume of white smoke and on its former place, there was a white snake plushie lying motionless on the ground, its tongue sticking out and the button-like eyes were poorly misplaced - making it look cute and laughable at the same time.

Keliora is terrified of the dangers that lurk in a tropical jungle, especially the spiders and poisonous EVERYTHING. Not to mention the insufferable heat and humidity!

When casting a Riddikulus spell, this scene would transform into a winter wonderland, with all the spiders turning into plastic and being encased in ice cubes, like the trick ones with flies used at parties and all the frogs would be in mittens and earmuffs and parkas and balaclavas (rendering their poison tongues unable to strike!).

Chook is scared of nothing except bees. Not really scared but very wary as they can kill her.

When casting a Riddikulus spell the bee would turn into a blow fly that I could get close enough and swat.

Gryffindor

Paddy's greatest fear is a spider.... or more to the point, a load of spiders!

Casting the Riddikulus spell would make all the spiders line up and start dancing (Irish Riverdance style), perfectly co-ordinated with all those hairy legs :P

Kat walked in front of the Boggart and instead of turning into what she thought it would it just turned into nothingness. Pure darkness. She froze unsure of how to respond. She had always been afraid of the dark but this darkness was so overwelming. It covered her whole being.

Finally pullimg from her fight she yelled Riddikulus! A giant burning sun burst out brightening the darkness into pure bright light

Ambrosia's greatest fear is that her father never found peace upon his death. What if he is still restlessly wandering the earth, or some other plane? What if his decaying corpse sentenced him to an eternity of pain? The what ifs terrify her..

After casting Riddikulus, he instantly shifts into his former self, happy, and safe.

One of Sey's biggest fears is foreign objects coming out of their body/being beneath their skin! Once Riddikulus is cast, all of the icky things turn into lots of funny, silly behaving cats.

I;m afraid I am the same as everyone and terrified of spiders!! Especially them touching me or getting caught in their webs!! Im always paranoid that there is one on me ;---;!
