She grins at them all.

"The Houselves were kind enough to send us a little treat: tea, pumpkin juice, and butterbeer! Take advantage of their kindness and enjoy yourselves!"

She starts to walk out of the common room, but then stops abruptly.

"Oh, I'll have them send some biscuits as well," she says, then heads out the common room.

[img align=left]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/LostDani/EmeliaHufflepuff.png[/img] "Thanks Professor Makshi!" Emmy called, as the professor left the room. Eagerly, starving, Emmy hurried forward and took a bottle of butterbeer, popping it open and swiftly taking a sip.

She smiled as a few house elves rushed in a moment later, carrying a tray of biscuits and sides of cheese, butter and jam. She thanked them and buttered two biscuits, taking cheese for the first and jam for the second.

"Yum!" she said aloud, flopping down on a nearby couch and scarfing down the jam biscuit, then feeding bits of the cheese one to her scops owl, Elfie, who was perched on her shoulder.

Luck was sitting on one of the couches as the head of house made her introduction. Luck had her bag pulled closely so as to take up as little space as possible; there were a small parchment and quill in her lap, while a lizard sat perched on her shoulder. She wrote down the name of the professor so she would remember it. The friendliness of the professor warmed her, and the mention of food kindly presented by the house elves intensified the feelings. The atmosphere seemed cozy and the house she was part of felt like a family.

She remained seated as the house elves brought the biscuits in, and quietly folded over her parchment as some of the students started to dive on the food. Luck was a very shy girl, so she took her time putting her supplies back in her bag. She didn't want to be in anyone's way as they got their snacks.

Just then someone( ) who was verbally enthusiastic about the food, flopped down on the other end of the couch. Luck couldn't help but smile as she saw her housemate feeding pieces of a biscuit to her owl. She could feel her own pet lizard shifting around on her shoulder before it slowly crawled around the back of her neck to perch on the other shoulder, farther away from the owl.

Emmy glanced over and realized she had flopped onto a couch with someone already sitting there.

"Oh sorry, hi there!" she said after swallowing a bite of cheese and biscuit, Elfie hooting softly in happiness on her shoulder from his treat. "I'm sad to say I don't know your name... I'm Emmy!"

Emmy briefly stroked the edge of the prefect badge that shone in the light on her chest, feeling bad that she wasn't sure who this girl was; she made it her mission to try and at least know the names of everyone in the house.

"Are you excited for the new term?" Emmy asked her, after the girl had told her her name.

Luck was thinking about the biscuits when she was spoken to. "My name is Luck," she replied. She then took notice of the prefect badge and smiled again, in a bit of awe at it.

"It's my first time here," Luck explained. "But I am excited. Everything is all new to me, and I can't wait to see what else will happen!" Her lizard began to slowly creep down her shoulder and onto her arm.
