So, I've had a crazy day today.

I started off with a press conference, yes, one where I talk to reporters! And it was all about my first every scientific paper describing a new ant species to science, Paratopula bauhinia. I achieved my dream and was able to discover and name a new species. I have actually fallen in love with ants over the past 18 months so I've definitely achieved a dream.

Later that day my friends are linking me to every news article they can find, such as this one. Actually, I live in Hong Kong now so most of the articles are in Chinese. But this one is not. That's me! Yes, that's what I look like!

My phone has been buzzing all day about this, no kidding. And my brain is so drained from talking the whole day.

So I decide to log onto Subeta, and omg.. what is that.. my name is in the news??? DOES SUBETA KNOW ABOUT MY DISCOVERY????

Unlikely.

"Luckily" the post was just about the (awesome) new feature, although I'm definitely not sure how I feel about sharing a name with the bathhouse lady. Arguably I've been on Subeta way longer than she has, I was here first lady!!! But maybe I can think of this a celebration of my paper being published? LOL.

I've also renamed one of my pets, to Bauhinia as a tribute to the new species of ant I discovered. Her old name wasn't helping with inspiration but now I have ideas*~.

I had some posts on social media about today's craziness, namely on instagram and twitter.
