O. o Guys. I need help. How does one stay fashionable? Have you seen the fall lines this year? What the what.... TINSEL? No, thanks. I don't want to be attacked by cats. D:

What? By cats?
Cats love Tinsel. >> Tinsel is supposed to be big this fall. Plz no.

... What even. I'm not a really fashion-centered person tbh. I'm still living as a lumberjack with my distressed jeans, plaid and my old denim coat.
Do you have any examples of clothing with tinsel on them? Is it actual tinsel or just dangly strings? I don't understand "fashion", lol.
I googled and found this: http://www.elle.com/fashion/news/g27704/fall-2016-fashion-trends/?slide=3
Yup, tinsel is a thing
I just seriously do not get fashion
Other things that are in according to the same article: caplets, giant chokers, insanely ridiculous sleeve lengths, shirts with only one sleeve, and velvet.

Thanks for posting! I love this little fanny-pack style purse. http://ell.h-cdn.co/assets/16/10/980x490/elle-trends-fall-2016-bag-hold.jpg
Purses worn around the waist really don't deserve such an ugly reputation because it really is convenient to have it there. Tighter strap, less worry about slipping, choking, or getting misplaced.... etc etc. They just need a few good revamps.
my contribution to this thread = fannypacks
I agree, perhaps we shall see a rise in more fashionable fannypacks after this? As long as it's not that stupid necklace purse thing next to it. (Why? why would you wear that? why would anybody design that?)

HAHA my first thought was that it reminds me of a collared animal, wearing all its identification around its neck. Would be way too easy to rob, 4/10 It might be cute as a fanny-pack though.
my first thought was that it would be so heavy, and how would you see it to get stuff in and out of it without bending your neck uncomfortably?
I know that the stuff you see on runways is an exaggeration and not designed for normal people in their normal lives, but things like the collar-purse (curse?) or those moronically long sleeves... do fashion designers never encounter anything that resembles real life?

As for fanny pack/purses, I bought one a year ago

Still don't regret it.
But the rest of that stuff. What.... just WHAT? D: What happened to the cute sweater dresses and leggings? Hell, give me Uggs. I'll wear uggs forever and never complain again.

Runway fashion makes absolutely no sense to me. You'd have to pay me to wear a fucking tinsel jacket... all I can think of it how like... itchy around the neck it would be and it's just obnoxious looking.
I'll just stick to bulky sweaters, hoodies, cute leggings, scarves and tall boots, thanks, haha!
Yas. Please. All the cute sweaters and hoodies and leggings. Hnnng. <3

Not seeing that in stores here, but tropical floral patterns meet navy and bright red. My eyes, my eyes. .____.
You know what's awesome? black can never go wrong with black /super minimal hermit here hai
Meh , runway fashion is usually super out of touch with street fashion imo. I prefer chunky boots, extra layers , wacky leggings etc over tinsel any day :P
I hate wearing scarves. Yes, let me wrap a giant bundle of unrequired fabric around my neck that will be in my way every moment of the day.

I imagine much of runway fashion is experimenting and bringing imagination to life, in order to figure out what works and which styles and details are worth further experimentation. Kind of more like stream-of-conscious writing as opposed to something totally lucid and polished. The tinsel would be a cheap and colorful way of replicating the look of fur (which is expensive to mess around with) without being just an imitation of it. And further it makes a statement on consumer culture and the weird crazy fact that this flashy material exists and is a norm in American households every holiday and no one questions it. That said I wouldn't wear it either but it does have mental/creative value as sculpture.
I love it! So many hidden pockets. I feel like that would deter robbers because one can tell from far away that it'd take five minutes to find and open each one in order to find the one with cash. And the little leg strap to keep it in place. What's the company that makes them?
- Bahaha, that was a great slide show to go through. XD
So, from what I've seen, this fall's fashion is:
Christmas tree ornaments Curtains Collars that should stay in the bedroom Piles of leftover scraps that didn't make it into another piece of clothing Wannabe capes Boots that can be used as a deadly weapon Out of control sleeves
...I'll pass and stick to fandom shirts and basketball shorts. Much easier on the eyes.
- You do have a good point. I just think it's ridiculous how these pieces of clothing are going to be seriously overpriced just because they're "in". You're much better off buying a Christmas tree ornament and using that as a scarf or something. How would you even wash a piece of clothing with tinsel on it???
:) Its by Warrior Creek. I honestly love this bag, even if I do get teased for wearing a "Thigh holster fanny pack"-- It keeps everything VERY secure. The safest place I found for money is the topmost pocket on the hip-- I use the largest pocket to carry my feminine supplies and ocarina, and the front most for my phone. :)
The only down side is that if worn properly, it does hurt a little bit to drive.
