I know that for the most part all pet profiles text must be in English, however I have a question...

Say I have a character who is Irish, now most of the text is in English, but is it okay to put a phrase or two in Irish?

My question regards mostly when she is talking - sometimes she swears in her native language.

We can't interpret the rules. I mean I would really hate to say its okay, you do it, then get a warning.

Better to just submit a ticket, with the exact phrasing you want to use, how/where you want to use it and what it says. That way its official.

I think one of the big reasons they don't want you using another language is that the filters only work on english. There are rules against trying to skirt the filters, so I imagine using another language specifically for swear words would not be ok.

(I don't know for sure though, so a ticket's still a good idea, like suggested.)

I'd still file a ticket to ask specifically though, especially about the swearing as that may be considered skirting the swearing filters on site.

For clarification purposes. Yes, you are allowed to have foreign languages on your pet profiles. I've had them on mine and it's only in the areas specified in the rule quoted where foreign languages are not allowed. However, I'm not sure that applies to swearing though so yes, file a ticket.

actually i filed a ticket about this a while back and was told that the rule DOES NOT apply to pet profiles!

I would still file a ticket just to be sure :)
