Years.

For years and years, Vampires thought of themselves as Gods, or damn near it. It's funny, to think so highly of themselves yet hide in the shadows out of fear.

It's 1888, and the vampires are getting out of hand. Attacking more and more unsuspecting people across more countries than the previous centuries. And even though their numbers are growing, they are adapting well, to hide among the general populace. "Ageing," being able to stand in the sunlight longer than five seconds, actually looking human, all traits of the virtually un-dead. But what's worse, those who have been around longer have been able to figure out how to raise folks from death, as mindless, highly aggressive servants, or bodyguards. And worse still, all other sorts of miscreants, freaks and unholy things are getting brave as well. Werewolves, shapeshifters, you name it, it's slimy carcass is scooting across the ground somewhere.

Our story first takes place in London, where one very upset Scotsman, whose family bloodline has hunted these abominations for centuries, is beginning to dig, to find the source of these highly aggressive, new age vampires. Will you help him? Or try to stop him from completing his quest to rid the world of the Unholy?

As for magic, the more 'powerful' stuff should be reserved for later on, once the hunters start getting closer to their target.

Well the character that came to mind is...probably in need of toning back, (in more than just magic) because she gained abilities over a couple years' worth of a campaign. But the basis is she's half astral spirit. Susceptible to bindings and anti-spirit measures, but gets a boost to spells. There's a whole complicated backstory...and assorted related characters that usually come with. But I /might/ not play her. I have a couple other ideas, and I might wanna make someone new.

Alas, I've watched neither. Actually...No, Cas wouldn't work here. As much as I'd love to use her, she's terrified of people in general and requires a sizable underground. I may never be able to use her. sigh Stupid rp I made her for died. Or rather, was killed. Even though people were rping still. And then the reboot failed. x.x I'll figure something out.

I'm in, may take me until tomorrow or thursday for a character though. I have one in mind, but I'm busy trying to clean everything (camping in 2 weeks and having a house sitter, and my car) and work today.

ooc: : You're thinking Hellsing :) Van Helsing is a live action movie starring young Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale and Richard Roxburgh. Van Helsing (portrayed by Hugh Jackman) is a Vampire Hunter with a cold shoulder basically lol. The movie was produced in 2004 - buuut its one of my faves.

So, those of us who have characters in mind want to get something started?

Thinking of doing a werewolf/vampire hunter but I was just curious about werewolves having to change. Is it controllable the rest of the lunar cycle and not during a full moon, never controlled, or always controlled?

OoC// Depends on the age of the werewolf, how long they've been a werewolf, and whether or not they enjoy killing/ being consumed by bloodlust or not. Think I'm gonna bring in an old vampire hunter who just so happens to be a werewolf as well. Just like vampires, they will be frowned upon, just some less than others lol.

, she's been one for 10-15 years ish (since being a kid/teen), doesn't like to kill but likes the freedom of escaping into the Wild (she's not a fan of typical woman roles/clothes). I was leaning towards sometimes controllable and sometimes not

OoC// I'm thinking that during a full moon, most wouldn't have a choice. Others can until they tire out, and new/inexperienced werewolves just don't have a choice in general, are some of the more dangerous ones next to those who have been around forever.
