When on the 'Full Steam Ahead' Page to get a steamwork pet it gives me a schematic to select (tick box) and then a Drop down list of the pets I currently own, Then a typing box to type a new name.
My question is, If I type a name into the typing box, will that create a whole new Steamwork pet with the gear gender? Or will it change my pet with its name shown on the drop down list?
I don't want to change one of my current pets, I want a whole new pet and wanted the gear gender too hehe
quote from Frequently Asked Questions & Answers in this very subforum:
Steamwork: You can either 'build' a Steamwork pet, or you can transform an existing pet into a Steamwork pet.
Obtain a species-specific schematic. These can be purchased from either the Yun Enterprises - Purveyors of Plans Schematic Shop, or from user shops/trades/etc. Schematics purchased from the Schematic Shop will take 2-3 days to be drawn up, and you will be notified when it is completed.
Obtain a Yunium Key. The key can be created by combining a Yunium Ore, Melting Kettle and Steamwork Key Stone Mold at Asmodeus Genetech Lab, or purchased from user shops/trades/etc.
Take your schematic and Yunium Key to Yun Enterprises - Full Steam Ahead and place the order for your pet to be built. The building of your Steamwork pet will take 2-3 days, and you will be notified when it is completed.
So it's not specific that typing a name in is what you need to do to create a new pet and it seems odd that you'd be able to type in a name for someone else's pet, but it does say if you are changing an existing pet you click that pet and typing is not mentioned. There's no reason Subeta should operate on logic although it often does, and my own Steamworks pets were coloring existing pets, so I have no experience with this.
Me, I'd gamble and type a name in, but I've been playing for awhile and I could afford the loss if I was wrong. Maybe you should file a Ticket in Help to be sure.
