are reading drives over for good?

I've had a gallery hoarding books for a future reading drive for quite some time now, despite the hearsay I've heard about the possibility of there never being another one. I would really like to sell all of my books though if this is true, I just want to actually hear it from a staff member so I don't end up selling all of my hoard and being all outta luck if the rumors were wrong. so can someone give me a 110% positive answer as to if there will/will not be any more reading drives?
even hearing it from a staff member isn't a total 110% guarantee.
Keith has said there will never be another reading drive, but he's said stuff before then changed his mind. Staff has, however, said a reading drive type of event is still a possibility, but it wouldn't be book based. They would do another category, like toys, food, or something else.

I believe Reading Drives are also off the table because books are so valuable (partly because of how Alchemy Points work for battle) and "deleting" such large quantities of them was deemed wasteful in past discussions. However, drives for other sorts of items have been suggested, and you can never say never when it comes to Subeta.
filing a Ticket in Help is as close to 110% as you are going to get, and staff here is really friendly so if you want 110% that's the way to go.
Any and all links we give you are for past comments, while someone in Help will know how things are right now. There's been a ton of comments by staff saying that there will be no new Reading Drive, and we still get asked "is there gonna be a Reading Drive, huh huh?" in Help & Questions a lot so folks here have gotten tired of looking those posts up. I know I don't bother.
Sometimes staff show up here in Help & Questions, but sometimes they don't.
was going to do only one zombie apocalypse event and rejected multiple suggestions that we do it again, way back when. Then two years later there was another one and now it's pretty regular (there was one year where there was just bad infection). That's probably what is talking about.

EDIT - they are not allowed to give that information out over a ticket, so unless they make a news post, no one will know for sure.
recently commented in some news comments saying that they've commented several times that there will not be another reading drive I believe. This wouldn't be one of those things they change their mind on especially because people did have galleries and collections saved up and with confirmation numerous times from staff, changing their mind about the drives would cause backlash.

I would add to 's coda about unhappy users here. Many official staff 'no' 'no way' 'no way in hell' responses in the past, have said there would be various site events that will an accumulate-for-rewards section to them. This has been true. Most recently this winter there was a snowman building contest and users donated 'drive items' to each team of NPCs. Some of the drive items were Bake Stop and Icy Goods. These two stores typically stock many items that sell for little more than wholesale usually, and these stores would regularly clear out almost as soon as they stocked during the contest and some rarer and medium rarer items from these shops regained value. In all cases it hasn't been an alert the users years ahead of time so that they can hoard kinda thing and more spontaneous buy whatever you can from the shops when you see them thing, so the nature of 'the game' has changed up a bit.
yeah, that definitely makes sense. I participated in that snowman building contest and it was very stressful and fun, haha. those type of events are my favorite, which is why I've been hoarding books in waiting in case of another book drive. but I believe I'm going to use my own judgement based on what all of you have told me and sell my books. thank you all for giving me your opinions!
Just want to confirm what said. We won't have another Reading Drive in the format that they've been in the past years, aka you hoard up a lot of books and donate them the minute the drive opens and bam done. If we do another drive (books or something else), we want you to really participate the full duration of it rather than be done in five minutes. With the snowman example used on this thread, we added shops midway that you could restock/donate from (and you could do multiples of items rather than just the one per book like the Reading Drive). We're constantly looking for new things to try out :)
