Maybe it would be easier to use name of the character I want to make pet of but I'm bad at naming my ocs and coming up with a name is propably going to be the same pain

I know the feel! :c I spent 10 minutes of searching for rws in general and I only found 2 available. I'm guessing you're looking for a word with a specific meaning? Would any of the synonyms have any common spelling variants you could try (like australian vs. american spelling)?

It's painful. I've pretty much given up and have just gone with alternate spellings (like my newest one Phluffy) or using Google Translate to get the names I want in other languages.

Yep a specific meaning, spellings are pretty much the same in this case though ;; But actually a little bit ago I found a name on inactive accout but since english isn't my mother language I'm not sure if it's really the same meaning as what I'm looking for. Off to the online dictionaries I guess lol

I did that with Vesmir which means 'space' in czech when I was looking for a name for space themed pet. but I'm that idiot that just want this english real word name and will rather spend hour searching for free one instead of using some translate lol

I can totally relate too. And since I'm very OCD about correct spellings, I will never be able to own alternative spellings of a RW or a fanpet name. It did sometimes take years to get some of the names I have now. But the bright side is that occasionally when I look at a character from a completely different perspective to come up with some different RWs, I might just get some extra insights and ideas for the character.

Totally! There were times that I just had to left out a fanpet or find RWs for them :(. Though I guess I have also been sort of lucky since most of my favourite characters have rather uncommon or odd first/last names. Plus usually I am into things that are either too ancient or too new for people to care about xD.

I definitely know that pain. I spent... around two? three? hours last night flipping through as many real names as I could think of to try and see if one wasn't taken or on an inactive account with no luck.

I finally found a RW that was on a dead account, but I'm not entirely sure if I'm going to keep him because I've yet to even start work on a lot of the pets I have that I do have ideas for lmao

Oh, don't get me started on birds; I'd have like 517 pets feat. birds at different angles if the world would let me - but alas! I must ration the slots, and as such only a handful are bird-themed for now. Thank goodness? The jury's still out.

You could be like me and have the perfect name for a pet, then adopt it out, and then decide a year later you want it back again. /shot I was trying to get away from fan-names. Regrets were had.
