Today (June 27th) marks a full decade with Subeta! cheers
It's kind of hard to believe I've been here that long... So much has happened on the site I can't even remember it all. We lost some, but we gained so much more!
My origin story
I originally came here from Neopets; the first four pets I created here were resurrected from a Lupe, Two Gelerts and a Poogle. I was introduced to this site by my best friend after a spate of account freezings (mine was among them) that happened for no explicable reason. I was told that I was caught cheating, which is a lie. This, coupled with Neopets Staff bullying friends of mine was the reason I walked away.
Expanding on the bullying: A friend of mine drew art of her gelert and put it in the art contest... whereupon it repeatedly and inexplicably would get turned into an Elephante... sometimes almost instantly. With the species change, it would keep disqualifying my friend's entry. Every time she changed him back into a gelert, he would be changed into an Elephante five or ten minutes later. And with staff replying to bug tickets approximately six weeks later... sighs and shrugs When they finally responded to her ticket, of course the round of art contests were over... and her pet mysteriously stopped changing into an Elephante by then. They told her that it wasn't a bug, that they couldn't find any reason why he would have been changing... or any proof that he had been changed at all. Essentially, they politely told her that she was a liar, there was no evidence that he had ever been changing, and that she was SOL for the NP she spent trying to make him change back. Someone ELSE, who just happened to be popular at the time, won the round in the gelert category of course...
Aaanyway, enough harping on the negative... Subeta RULES and I'm glad to be here with y'all. The community is so much better here anyway. :D
