Sorry if this has been asked or explained before, I'm never on the forums and didn't find anything about it posted.

I was wondering if there was a reason there were tons of pets in the pound with names like "Kora1036863"? Did someone name a bunch of pets like this and dump them all, or is this some odd glitch?

there's a couple of threads around here about it but i guess they've been pushed off the first page so i don't blame you for not seeing them. the answer is basically:

1. when people make pets with names that violate the site's PG-13 rules or are otherwise deemed offensive, the pet gets removed from that user's account.
2. the pet is then no longer associated with any account and is slated to have its name cleared, which is what happened with all these pets. their names were simply changed to (species)(pet ID).
3. these cleared pets are all placed in the pound so that users interested in specific birthdates/ID numbers can adopt them and change their names if they so wish.

I figured someone had probably asked about it before since it's been that way for a while, but thanks for answering. That actually makes a lot of sense. I totally thought someone had annoyingly flooded the pound with a bunch of terribly named pets but the reality is a lot better haha
