:( Today I went to see my piercer to ask about some jewelry that currently is acting up, and to see about a piercing I wanted. I wanted a bridge, and... he refused to pierce me because where it would need to sit is where my glasses sit. & then I asked about my eyebrows, and he refused to pierce them because there isn't enough tissue.

I love my piercer because he's extremely professional and won't do anything that won't look good on you, or would be a danger to you. But it does jab my heart a little. I feel very overdue for a piercing too, like it's just under my skin. So I have to relook at the mods I was considering doing and see if something else strikes me. I had a nose ring in mind too, but (curses) I just started a new treatment for a health condition that involves shooting medication through my sinuses via a saline rinse.

Anyone not getting what they want lately?

I wanted another piercing. I was thinking about a forward helix in my left ear (I have glasses), but I can't get it done because I'm diabetic. I do have two piercings that are fresh. My nose will be a year old this July and I've had my helix piercing for about 9 months now and it still hurts. I know that one will take longer to heal because of my health condition.

I hope you find something you like!

I got my septum pierced not too long ago but it's done oddly low. It's a bit of a bummer as I looked forward to wearing a clicker in it but that just looks really odd. I'm wearing a ball closure ring in it now which looks fine so I guess I'll just stock up on those and it'll be fine.

(I don't really feel like going back and getting it pierced again, because it hurt quite a lot - probably also because it's too low, let's be fair - and the pierced started asking personal questions I didn't really feel comfortable with. Might get it re-pierced in a few months or so at another shop, but for now, nah.)

Well, I suppose it's better him telling you about all those things now as opposed to having someone just saying 'okay, sure!' and then having it reject and waste your money. Bummer, but probably for the best in the long run. I've been fortunate with my piercings in regards to them staying put, but I'm prone to scarring, which sucks, but I've learned to manage. The only one that I had to take out was my belly button, but it was an impulse piercing and not something I was too broken up over, haha!

I'm pretty much done with them for now (I've got seven), but who knows?

i feel !! my septum is super low too , and i've wondered if it's my nose shape, because a lot of my friends had theirs done and it looks fine, but they all have wider, but smaller noses (i have a beak tbh, and my nose is long but pretty thin so clickers are weird in my nose and they're close to my lips :/ ))

okay the only piercings i've had that were rejected were what i expected to be the easiest to handle, they were more "beginner" piercings i thought. it was my bellybutton and my nostril. i kept up with the upkeep and cleaned them daily but it seemed like it was no use ?? but meanwhile my septum and tongue were a BREEZE ! i dont get it :P

I guess mine could have been pierced a bit higher, tbh. My nose isn't that big but it's pretty wide, so I doubt it's about nose shape. I don't really mind it when wearing a small circular barbell (although the big one it was pierced with was REALLY BIG which looked weirdish, but I'm wearing a small one now and it looks just fine) or ball closure ring but I would've prefered it to be a bit higher :c

Tbh, I would just let it heal and get it re-pierced at another shop.

My right nostril was done twice. The first time it was badly infected and the hoop fell out and I didn't put it in properly, so the hole on the inside closed while the hole on the outside was still open. It explained why my jewellery was falling out all the time. I can't wear hoops. It doesn't suit me because my nose is small and funny looking.

I'm gonna be honest-- I regret getting my bridge done. It has a VERY high rejection rate (more than 80%)-- Get it done, but be ready to take it out at the FIRST sign of trouble.

I had loved my bridge, but I'm not so fond of the scarring left from the thing when it started to reject.

Fellow diabetic with piercings here. Do you find you have trouble healing even if you maintain your blood glucose at healthy levels? I have lots of piercings and tattoos (including a helix) and I've never had an issue with them healing as long as my levels are good. Is it that your artist refuses to pierce you because they're worried about healing, or that you can't have it done because you yourself know it won't heal based on past experience? If it's an issue with your artist and you're confident it would heal alright, I'd say get another opinion from another piercer! :)

Oh man, I have snakebites and I've had little to no problems with them save for losing the smaller parts of the piercings when i take them out to clean. So I was considering getting other piercings (the only other thing I have is my ears that are at 0g or so), but I didn't even consider any rejection rates or the amount of tissue I have. (currently squishing the area I'd pierce on my eyebrow and am realizing it would be really hard to pierce probably). I was also thinking of getting a bridge piercing or my nostril. I know my nostril would be fine, but I didn't know the bridge rejection rate was as high as 80%...like, I knew it was high but not THAT high. I feel like maybe it would make more since to get something not so likely to reject since I'm in college and won't have time to deal with it as much if something goes wrong? Idk, maybe I'm being paranoid

I seriously want to finish my ear projects so bad. I've got my loves both at 2g, working to 1g then 0g and then I want to get second lobe piercings on each ear. Obviously, that's like the least expensive piercing you can get, but I want to make sure my ears are done stretching before I go and punch a hole right next to it. I've got tons of ideas for my ears just not enough money or patience to get them done when I want. If I have the time, I don't have the money. If I've got the money, its sucky timing to get a piercing.

I've had my helix pierced for almost a year (will be a year at the end of September) and it's just not healing. It hurts all the time. Do you have any suggestions?

I want a nose piercing too. But with my allergies, it wouldn't be a very good idea. The only other piercings I have are three in each earlobe and I don't really want any others...except if I were to get married at some point, I'd like to get a tattoo ring (a Celtic knot) and then get a CZ or possibly a diamond set into the skin on my ring finger.

Do you ever sleep on it? I found that even months after I had it done it would get irritated if I slept on it. It actually only recently stopped doing that after being pierced for almost 10 years. Wearing your hair down also tends to anger helix piercings in general, so I wore a pony tail or braid as often as I could manage to help healing. Besides that, a sea salt and neem leaf spray is really soothing and helps to promote healing, if you can find anything like that. The one I use is the one here by PunkMedics and it works like magic.

I know how you feel about piercers telling you that you won't be able to get a piercing. ;( I'm long overdue for a piercing too and decided I wanted my tongue pierced but my piercer said my tongue is too short. It's been around 2 years since I've gotten a new piercing or tattoo and it really sucks. That and I finally got my ears stretched to the size I wanted, then I got extremely sick and my whole face swelled up, including my ears so I had to take them out. What piercings do you already have?

I know how the itch of wanting a new piercing feels! At least your piercer cares enough about you that he refuses to do something he doesn't feel good about. It shows he's not in it for the money. I'm currently waiting for a few cartilage piercings to heal so no more new holes for a little while :c

My bridge actually sits right above where my glasses sit. It's been knocked a few times because my dogs forget they weigh 30lbs and catapult into my lap. It's also well healed and has never shown signs of rejection. It's migrated forward slightly, that's it. It's currently the second time I've had it done because I had unexpected surgery requiring an MRI when I was unconscious. It was already starting to close when I came to so I had it repierced last year.

Your mileage may vary, and it's generally not a good idea to get a bridge if your glasses will be constantly irritating it or if there isn't enough tissue to pierce it above your glasses. It's also not a super common piercing so not every piercer is comfortable with it.

I thought about a second right below it but that would mean no more glasses and strictly contacts for me. Plus I already have a septum so two facial piercings is pushing it with what's acceptable for work.
