Hi everyone! So, if all goes well this will hopefully be my first CW. I did a number of really messy WIP sketches (ages ago now) to see what people liked and this is a more refined version of one of the top picks. I'm finally (I think) ready to polish this baby up and release them. I'mma call this one Shorn Locks of the Diplomat if that works. It's a working title at the moment.
Edit: Update!
I'd love your opinion on this update; your suggestion for the re-working of the linework worked like a charm and was fabulous. I tried to modify the hair line and rework it so I'm hoping this worked out a little better?
And another one because idk

Old

OK. So I'm checking to see if there's enough interest in this to set it up for slotting in the near future, and then to see what maybe needs adjusting. I'm mostly just looking at technical stuff right now to better increase my chances of getting it in and approved seeing as this will be my first CW.
for all my lovely peeps that are interested.
ah, Kirin, i guess forget about me. i have no CSC.. -_-;
it looks pretty good to me! I think the overlay's outlines could be a bit thinner (the CI's lineart is overall crisper / thinner) (:
There's also color bleeds on your wig, near the root of the hair!

it's okay!
Okay! I'm never sure how thick is too thick or not thick enough when it comes to lines. As for the color bleed, it's probably not clear enough that's supposed to be the hair line; I didn't think a black line for the hair line on the forehead looked good; maybe I need to exaggerate it a bit more so it's obvious that it's intentional? Or more shading?
there needs to be an outline but it could be much thinner - just as long as the shading (white in this occurence) doesn't stick out of it!
I also noticed tht you are using a dark blue for the lineart but it needs to be black!

Yeah that's something I need to figure out; it was black but when I did image adjustments it turned it that dark teal color and sadly trying to shift it around so it's just the outline that ends up black messed up the nice colors going on there; and though I did go over the lines in black again shrinking it down just makes it that bluish color again. :< I'll have to work on that. And okay I'll have to play with that to find a way to make it look good. :< Wigs without bangs are so hard to make look good imo if you have to have a black outline around it all when it's supposed to just subtly fade in from the forehead like it does naturally.
did you shade everything on the same layer? ;o The outline should be on a seperate layer n_n
I tried finding a few examples, if it helps! Like I said, it doesnt need to be super thick so that'll help with the transition (:

The layering got messed up at one point, and by the time I realized I was putting down color/shading on the line work layer it was pretty much too late at that point; I was pretty pissed since it was one of those I must have hit undo and it put me on the linework layer after that instead of the other layer.
And that middle one on the bottom row has a spot where there doesn't seem to be black there?
if you have trouble, try making a new layer with the lineart and then gradually erase under? Staff definitely won't accept the blue lineart sadly :/
There is a small gap where there is no black lineart (which should've been spotted though, normally they are picky about it), but there's also no color sticking out of the lineart!
Alrighty! Thanks a bunch it's definitely given me a lot to work on, I appreciate it. I'll have to either do that or I'll just have to re-line the black parts.
have you perhaps tried blocking/locking the layer, and then painting over with black? ;o That way you wont go outside and it should be easier & faster than re-lining everything!
(omg do i make sense, im sorry if I dont ;_____; im terrible at explaining)
I think that made sense? It could work but I'm afraid the lines would be more messy if I tried to do it that way (Since I'd have to go back and make sure lines are equal width and not having to erase and fill over again)? And if I'm just doing the outer edges re-lining isn't a big deal.
