I was outside this afternoon (at my parents) working on my tan. My right arm and shoulder is red, as well as my chest and face. The really weird part is... my left arm got no sun what-so-ever! It's going to be really hard to fix this lol

What are your weird sunburn stories.

When I went to Spain last year and I was sitting on the beach and got a sunburn on half of the top of my foot.

I'm pretty much a vampire so I burn even with sunblock on

I don't tan whatsoever. I basically just immediately lobster, so I've unfortunately had my fair share of sunburns. A couple summers ago I had one just like yours, so I know your pain.

The worst I had was when I went to Mexico like ten years ago, and I ended up burning almost the entire backs of my legs. I couldn't walk properly, or straighten them, and couldn't even pull on shorts. It was horrible, haha!

When I was younger I was extremely, extremely sensitive to UV light. I thought I had an allergy to UV light but I don't know if that's true.

Basically, I would get red, itchy rashes on my face and arms. When it was at its worst, I would have this reaction even from walking outside for 5 minutes on a cloudy day...

It made vacations no fun because I'd have to coat myself with sunscreen and half the time that didn't even help much :(

When the rashes went away I'd become very tan.

But.. when I grew older, it just went away on its own. I guess my skin got stronger or something ^^

Two stories.

First one is one reason I avoided and still avoid shorts. I was fishing with my dad and applied sunblock to my face, arms, feet and lower legs. Because I did this while standing and I wasn't paying attention, I missed the stripe from knee to short....by the time I was done roasting, I had a literal tan "line" across my pale skin. (I have the ability to tan, though i dont exercise it much. XD) It was very deep and looked extremely hilarious...at least, everyone else thought so! It took forever to fade out...that one band of like, four inch dark skin compared to the rest of me.

My second round with the sun pretty much put me off any kind of tanning that doesn't involve a spray gun. It was spring break my senior year, me and some girlfriends went to the beach. It was cool and cloudy, but I was going to enjoy it, damn it. We-ell, I went splashing in the chilly as hell water, then decided to layout with one of my friends...as the other had nicked most of our towels and fallen asleep under them. Somehow I completely omitted applying ANY sunblock what so ever. I blame the cool temp and overcast day. As we were leaving, I realized my skin was a very, very angry shade of pink. I knew I had seriously screwed up, but at that point, well, there wasn't much to do. I scuttled home as fast as I could so I could hop in the shower before things got tender. ....tender was the wrong word. I failed to fall asleep before the pain set in, to my everlasting chagrin. I should have probably had one of my parents take me somewhere, but because I was literally burnt and painful everywhere that hadn't been covered by my suit and wasn't the palms of my hands or the soles of my feet, I couldn't bear the thought if trying to sit/crouch in a car long enough to get there. Even a sheet was agony. I couldn't even stand up straight! ...So I did something incredibly foolish and stupid and got incredibly lucky...I pretty much started popping an otc painkiller one at a time until my skin started tingling and went numb (I've been told since that can be an initial sign of things like..oh, overdosing on them XD). I never before understood how the mere absence of pain can be the best feeling in the world, I would have pretty much given an arm or a leg to get the pain to stop. You better bet my butt went straight to sleep and refused to come out of my bed/sleep state for nearly three days. ...after that I felt a thousand times better, but I had to tan for prom...my suit was a one piece with a large X across the back.....so I had a very nice, deep tan with a very pale X that made it look like I was auditioning to be on Prof Xaviers team. Mebbe with a slogan like "nothing comes between me and my X-men?" XD

i burned my neck a while ago and i got called an ice cream sandwich for a whole week cuz the un-burnt part of my neck was brown, i turned pinkish red in the middle, and my lowerback doesnt get any sun so it was significantly lighter lol.

heres a diagram of my pain.

anyway you should always wear sunscreen no matter what, because anyone can get sunburnt ANYWHERE !! if youre going to be outside for more than an hour in direct sun you should always wear it.

😘

Oh no! That's so awful! My legs don't tan, so I always got made fun of by one of my old coworkers : /

I've had more then my fair share of being painful lobster red, where I needed first aid spray to cool off my skin.
