Just Another (Manic) Monday at the Wayward Squirrel

Larianne is restless. She hasn't been sleeping well of late, and last night did nothing to calm her down. Kelian had arrived punctually for his weekly Serenade and Gift session, trying to convince Lari that she was the ideal person to become his consort.
Each week, she received a ballad composed in measured rhyme especially for her, and a pair of slippers which should win her heart. Clearly, Kelian had been raised on too many fairy tales.
Last night's were cute: little white terry slippers with pink bunny ears. Very enchanting. The goodnight kiss should have been even more enchanting. It lasted long enough.
"Well," Ertrude remarked on her way upstairs to bed, "that should be the one to break any spell." Before Larianne could reply, she added. "Too bad it wasn't."
So now, deprived of sleep and too many troubled dreams, Lari was downstairs, pacing restlessly. The inn was just solidifying at the familiar crossroads, so the rooms were still quiet and dark.
She could fix a snack, or better yet, help her mother qualify for the annual "Think Pink Hink" contest. Ertrude had won the last three years with the help of the Protectors, but her rivals were making it harder this year. They were demanding a hundred hinks from each prospective contestant. Such a large number, but they were determined a innkeeping hedgewitch would not show them up a fourth time.
Larianne looked at her mother's list and sighed. Only 25 so far: 10 that they had devised at the Squirrel, 5 from Ms. Miranda in Bordertown, 5 from Vibrissa and Gumpus, 5 from Melian and the Sidhe. They still needed 75.
"All right," Lari said determindedly. "I'll make a cup of cocoa and see what I can do."
But, on her way back from the kitchen, it sounded, the bell that opened the passage to Crystania. It rang clear and crystal, bringing her thoughts together and telling her what she had to do. Setting down her mug in a precarious position on the very edge of the bar, she raced toward the opening door.
She knew what she had to do. As the passage open and a tall male figure came through, she threw herself into his arms and commanded:
"Kiss me just once!"
"I'd be delighted, dear girl, but are you absolutely sure that's what you want?"
The figure then pressed his lips against her forehead in an avuncular manner, and she found herself staring into the smiling face of Hayao Katsuhiro.
"OH!" exclaimed Larianne, mortified. "I thought you were..."
"Yes, I know," Hayao's smile faded into worry, "and I would like to see that face myself. However, I do have something for you."
He paused a moment as Winton, Ertrude, and Morrow arrived, also summoned by the sound of the bell. Once greetings had passed between all the friends, he reached for his backpack, which was now wiggling excitedly, and a small head was struggling to break free.
As Hayao undid the strings, a puppy burst from the pack and threw himself into Lari's arms, licking her face excitedly.
"He's so much like Lappy," she gasped, "or what he would have been as a puppy, but..." A silent tear slid down her cheek and the pup licked it off. He cocked his head with great concern.
"Wait," said Ertrude. "If there's one things hedgewitches know, it's the imprint of great magic at work. This is a masterpiece!"
She stroked the pup's head and looked into his eyes. "You are Lappy, aren't you?"
The pup barked in excitement. At last! Someone who knew! He bounced his head up and down in agreement.
"Is he?" marveled Hayao. "We thought he might be, but we couldn't be sure. He can't really talk to us, but it seems he has something urgent to say."
Ertrude nodded. "And I have just the thing for that. Let me fetch the elixir from the pantry."
"He's been trying to tell us desperately," Hayao continued. "Something must be up."
"Something dire, I'm afraid, my friend."
Thorson appeared from the hallway, carrying the new scrying bowl he picked up on his travels from a bazaar. So far, the bowl hadn't produced much, but he'd been tuning it for a while.
Ertrude whisked back in just as he set it down on the table. She filled a dropper and punped the elixir down the pup's throat. The little animal gasped and choked, but managed to miss her Hink sheet.
Hayao went on. "I don't know if this will work again, but I picked up something a little while ago, something I don't like."
He tapped the bowl again until it rang with a melodious sound, and a castle floating on a river appeared, immobile while the waters washed around it. There was a powerful aura of magic there, but the air around it changed from light to dark.
He tapped a few more notes, and the face of a lovely young woman appeared, her head wrapped in a turban of dreams.
"The girl in the mirror!" gasped Larianne, remembering the image that had held Tanaka motionless against the Unseelie wizard in the Borderlands. "She's so important to Tanaka!"
As though she heard her, the girl reached out in the direction of Larianne's voice. "Tell him not to come!" she pleaded. "It's too dangerous. I lost Junu. I can't lose him, too. Stop him, please!"
As the notes died, the image faded and the water went still. Then a puppy voice piped up, filled with relief and urgency. "My darling Mistress, I am home, but I have a tale to tell, and most important is to summon the Protectors, at once!!"

It was well past midnight in Veleria. All was quiet and most of the Elven city was asleep, save for the watchmen and one lone courier. The watchmen paid no attention to the boy, for he was well-known to them, as he rushed through the gates to the inner-city and up the many stairs that swirled around the massive eldergleam trees, up to the elevated homes of Veleria’s nobility. Arriving at last to his destination, he stopped—pausing to catch his breath—and regained his composure before knocking at the door. His instructions were clear: do not wait, do not let anyone stop you, deliver this message only to her. He had been to this home many times before, though never this late, but he knew the lady of this house to be kind and gentle, albeit seriously intimidating when accompanied by her massive black dire wolf. He rapped at the door again, listening for movement. Sure enough, he heard the sound of low whines and a sniffling at the door, followed by heavy loping away from the door. Ah, he thought, there we go.
Sure enough, moments later the door opened to reveal a woman—though not the one he was expecting—with long dark hair, covered only by the bedsheet wrapped around her body like a dress. “Can I help you?” she muttered, rubbing at her eyes, her voice thick from sleep. The courier straightened and cleared his throat.
“I’ve a message for Lady Talliessa.” The woman quirked an eyebrow at him when he did not offer the letter to her. There was a pause before he continued, “Sorry ma’am, I’ve been instructed it is to be delivered to her and her only.” The woman rolled her eyes and sighed.
“Alright, alright.” She huffed, “one moment please.” She left the door ajar as she walked away toward another room. She paused, looking back towards the courier. “Please, come in. I’ll never hear the end of it if I left you out in the night after you’ve run so far.” She fluttered her hand toward the far wall, obscured by the open door. “You’re welcome to sit, she’ll be out to receive you shortly.” The courier nodded gratefully and entered the home, shutting the door behind him and making his way toward an open chair.
After several minutes of soft voices and the rustling of fabric, a familiar face appeared from the doorway across from him. She wore a silk nightgown of midnight blue and her long black hair flowed behind her as she swept into the room with a kind smile. The other woman did not accompany her this time, nor did the wolf, much to his relief. She nodded toward him and headed over to a small basin, filling up two cups with water and joining him in the sitting area. She handed him a cup and took a sip from her own. He drank it, thanking her softly. She simply smiled at him as she waited for him to finish. “Lexa tells me that you have a letter for me and my eyes only.” Her voice was melodic and warm, and as she spoke he could feel the weariness leaving his body. The courier wondered if this was the Lady’s magic at work. He had heard stories of her adventures, but had never witnessed magic himself.
He nodded, “Yes, mi’Lady.” He held the letter out to her. It was tied with red ribbon, but otherwise plain on the outside. She smiled again, taking the parchment from his hands and slipping him several gold coins in return. His eyes widened in surprise, and he began to open his mouth to object before she chuckled softly and closed his palm over the gold.
“Please, if you’ve no more urgent deliveries for the night, there is an inn three roads over. This should be more than enough for the night and a warm meal when you arise in the morning.” She wore an expression on her face that said she would not take the money back, even if he objected, so he swallowed his protests and instead thanked her profusely. She laid a hand on his shoulder and continued, “And in the future dear,” she paused and waited for him to nod before continuing, “Lexa, the woman who opened the door, has my full permission to receive any messages for me. Including ones like these.” She removed her hand from his shoulder and stood. The courier stood as well, nodding again to the woman.
“Of course, mi’Lady. Thank you, mi’Lady.” He quickly made his way to the door, more than ready to seek out the inn she had mentioned and rest for the night. He bowed once and was off into the night once more. Talliessa sighed, shook her head absently and shut the door. Replacing the wards and returning to her bedroom, she began preparing herself mentally for what she was sure this letter contained. It even smelled faintly of her friend’s perfume. She knew what this was.
As she entered the room, she paused, smiling at the sight in front of her. Curled up in her place in the bed was her wolf Moriel. Beside her, snuggled up for warmth with one hand gently scratching the wolf’s large head, was Lexa. She chuckled, “Alright girls, I’m back now.” She sat down on the edge of the bed, patting Moriel affectionately on her hindquarters. The wolf’s head darted up, as if she had been startled on the verge of sleep, and she yawned widely before hopping down from the bed and returning to her own on the other side of the room. Lexa reached out and grasped her hand, tugging on it gently and muttering something about coming back to bed. Talliessa indulged her, slipping back under the covers and stroking her hair absently while sitting up still and conjuring a tiny ball of candlelight. When she sensed that her partner wasn’t going to be sleeping for a while yet, Lexa groaned and sat back up with a yawn.
“Wha’ssat Tal?” she slurred, head coming to rest on Talliessa’s shoulder. Talli gave her a small smile before pulling the ribbon away and opening the parchment. As she suspected, it was a summons for the Protectors of the Realm. At the bottom of the parchment, the familiar signature sent a rush of memories through her and she shivered. Her team needed her, and she would respond. Only this time, she was leaving someone behind and guilt bubbled in her chest.
“It’s time,” she muttered softly. Seconds that felt like hours passed before it registered and Lexa stiffened at her side. Sighing softly, Talli set the parchment on the table beside the bed, the spell winked out of existence and she wrapped her arms around the smaller woman. She felt her melt into the embrace as they snuggled closer. “I have to go. You know that.”
Lexa whined, a small feeble noise in the back of her throat, and burrowed her head further into the crook of Talli’s shoulder. “I knoooow,” she replied. “I’m just gonna miss you is all.” Talli smiled affectionately and smoothed Lexa’s hair with her free hand. They stayed like that for a while, Lexa burrowing and Talli petting her hair.
“I’ll have to pack in the morning,” Talli murmured, deftly twirling a strand of hair around her fingers. “But until then, we both need to sleep.” Talli heard the younger woman mutter her approval as she pulled both of them back down onto the pillows. It was quite late and they hadn’t exactly gone to bed early in the first place. Talli kept herself wrapped around her partner as they both resolved to spend the time they had until her departure as close as possible. It was only a few short moments before she felt herself slipping back into sleep. In the morning, she could worry about everything. For now, she would rest soundly, securely wrapped around the woman she loved.
Tomorrow, she left for The Wayward Squirrel.
((OOC: YAAAAAAY WAYWARD SQUIRREL TIME IS HERE WHEEEE!!!!! Oh and uh, obviously none of this is to submit, I'm just bored. No one actually has to bother reading this. xD))
Nightshade has been freelancing in the planet A-1984 the past year, Money is his currency and it's not like the one off from the WS was enough to last him forever. Being a dark elf and raised to be a fighter he had no problem collecting on bounties and running "errands" here and there. The tougher and bigger the "errand" the higher the pay after all. Since his Exile from his homeland he had learned to adapt to his situation, a sword wouldn't always do and sometimes he had to get more.... creative....
One of the key elements to being a freelancing vegabond (Murderer got flagged on most cyber sites these days so it had to be re-worded) was to blend in with your surrounding. That suited him perfectly, neon colours it was. after all he wouldn't want to stand out evil grin
The other protectors where sneaking glances at him, it was all he could do to not smile. on A-1984 his attire would have been considered as normal as some of those kimonos and Victorian era grab the others were wearing.
Well here he was, His Sonic screwdriver all lightsaber like and ready to do whatever he needed it to do, His visor displaying info on all those present once the facial recognition software was done with them.
Couple of Disasters
Sorn’s full name is only known to a few select people—and of course the spirits. Before he was born his powers were showing, bringing spirits far and wide to him. So dangerous was this connection to his own life, that runes were etched on his body when he was only seconds old. His mother, the matron mother (AKA Queen) of the drow (dark elves), favoured him for his immense powers—though she was disappointed he was not a female. As he grew he became the only male High Priest, his powers in sorcery too great to ignore. When his sister was born, he thought she should be heralded. She was born albino which meant they viewed her as tainted with Elven blood. Her sire, which also happened to be Sorn’s, was killed before he had time to know why. The only reason Raven was spared was because their mother wanted a female heir so desperately that she spared the child’s life. But that didn’t mean she spared Raven anything else. Abused, imprisoned—Sorn watched his sister being treated worse than a slave. He gave her as many comforts as he was allowed—but one day pushed his mother too far and she ordered his death. Fortunately, Sorn was able to call spirits to his aide and once free of his bonds used his magic to escape his brothers. Posing as a female he waited and listened as time passed. He learnt his sister had been exiled only a year after his escape. Rumours of a blue female drow ranger reached his ears. Then he heard his half-sister captured Raven and that a necromancer rescued her. On the brink of death Raven slew her half-sister to become the new Queen. Sorn finally left his society he had been waiting in, to return to his sister’s side. When Raven received the magical summons for aide, her first inclination was to come—but she was four months pregnant. She and her fiancé had a large fight but in the end Sorn uncharacteristically stepped in and volunteered to go in his sister’s stead. Leaving his sister was difficult, she wanted to go—she worried about her family’s safety without her. Sorn slipped a mini two way portal into her hand and promised to keep in contact with her to let her know they were safe. He figured she still cried as she watched them leave. Her lover would keep her safe—and he, a most powerful sorcerer, would help protect the rest. Besides, he had a beautiful woman by his side who happened to be a healer. They would be safe. His pixie slept in his pocket as they walked towards whatever it was they were doing.
Dashal was what his realm called a Dhampire. Half vampire, half human. His twin, Tait and his family lived in a lovely quiet village until one day a fire spread through the house. The eight year old boy ran to his parent’s room, but they were already dead. He pulled his brother out of the house and they escaped. He had watched the people around the burning house—they were pleased. The child realised that they murdered his parents. The boys lived on the streets for several years. Eventually, they wound up in a fae circus. They were an acrobatic team. Bored of the life, Dash began roaming the streets at night. He happened upon a drunk who smelt so good that his fangs extended and he drank the man dry. It was a death sentence to kill in such a manor. He was forced to leave his brother and all he knew—escaping through a portal. He wandered starving and filthy until he came upon a mansion in the middle of nowhere. It happened to belong to Raven and Savio. Cerac, Savio’s nephew defused the situation and eventually Dash was trained in his powers, had enough food that he recovered and became lovers with Cerac. When Raven was so upset about not being able to go render aide, Dash gladly agreed to go with Sorn. It was the least he could do to thank them all for what they had done for him. Though he was even happier when his lover declared he was coming as well. Of course, Dash wouldn’t dream of leaving his beloved teleporting cat-thing, Ari behind, either. Currently, she perched on his head as the troupe entered the portal towards the unknown.
Kara is not of this realm but another with different species and societies. She had stumbled upon the portal quite by accident. It had led her to Sorn and her current group of friends so she did not regret where she was now. In her own realm she was hunted, wanted for the murder of her husband on their wedding night when she was but sixteen. He had been an elf and she had been born a dark drow.
Revered. Given to the clan to raise as a healer. Treated as an object- she was far too intelligent to be a pet. She knew her healing well, however, having been taught since she could walk but she was also of the Terra clan and had control of the earth, an affinity with nature. When she had heard that Sorn volunteered to go on this journey she decided to not be left behind. While she has no companion of her own Eolus, Die’s demon rabbit… thingy, had decided to come with her. Glancing at Sorn a soft smile graced her features and reached out, taking his hand as they came upon the inn where they would be staying. Or not… she did not know everything.
Cerac is Die’s nephew… great great great etc. nephew, who had tracked him down; first to his home in the woods then to his new home with Raven. It is suspected he is part fae though it was never asked and he has not shared. It would explain his red and black hair which he can change between colors. He has a lovely Scottish brogue and a usually easy temperament, willing to try and see the good even the direst of situations. He is a flirt and perhaps a bit of a man whore. When Dash stumbled across them he was instantly drawn to the man, having no fear of what he was and they are now currently lovers. If Dash was going on this little adventure you can bet Cerac would follow. There was no way he would let his lover have all the fun. His companion is some kind of wolf fox hybrid made of smooth amethyst that he named Conall. “Ah cannae wait tae hae some damn fun,” he murmured, green eyes gleaming with mischievous intent. So many pretty people were gathered at this place. It made for good eye candy.
Character, Miakoda and her companion Mutt:
Their back story:
It was just past the break of dawn as Miakoda made her way home from her morning chores. Her traps were empty but she was able to catch a couple small fish in the icy lake, and her foraging garden was plentiful. The cold, crisp air invigorated her as she approached the steep path up the rocks that would lead to her hidden abode. It was quite the trek, but the safety of the remote location was a worthy trade. Once inside her refuge, Mia set her supplies down near the entrance and took a deep breath. The pleasantly warm, muddy scent of home filled her with nostalgia, and fragments of vivid memory rushed over her from the night she'd first met that smell.
Running terrified through a forest as dark as midnight and bright as lightning. The crunch of snow and the pound of her heartbeat. There was no memory of what had happened or why she had been running, just a feeling as though something fundamental in her had snapped in half and a piece of her soul had dropped into the abyss of the deepest ocean.
Shimmying along a ledge, afraid to look down, afraid to slip. Her back and fingers scraping along rough, sharp rock walls. Then, a jagged break in the stone, stumbling, falling, relief at the pain of elbows and knees against flat rock. A cave, not a chasm.
Alone. Cold. Thankful for the fire and the moss bed (though she couldn't remember conjuring or making either) as she drifted to sleep breathing the musty cave air.
After all that time, she had no idea how she had survived that first night. But that was the day her life began. When she had left with her parents for their last journey, she had been all of seven years, a big girl helper, and had insisted on fitting as much as possible in her pack. She had even imagined she was going on her very own adventure. How cruel and fortunate fate is. That pack had kept her alive while she learned to survive. It contained a bit of everything including food, medicinal supplies, some of her father's small weapons, and her mother's journal. A journal; mundane daily thoughts from a woman long unkown. Sketches of local and foreign flora and fauna and of their family simply living life. Details she had discovered as she honed her craft as well as bits about weapons and war she had learned from her husband. Revelations about life that she had hoped to pass down some day. Miakoda treasured every page. Reading it filled her with purpose, a sense of belonging, and most of all a tangible, tingling, magical connection to the physical world. With her instincts to guide her, Mia used this manual to become a skilled mage and she knew it would continue to help her grow. It was also a tether to a past once longed for. There were no longer any emotions attached to these memories, but a solemn respect remained.
A flash of light brought Miakoda back from her reminiscing. Her companion, Mutt - a small, silver, liquid-like blob - had rushed past her face in a hurry to bring his new finds to his treasure collection. He was a shapeshifter, and when they were out he liked to find new things to imitate. Today's haul included a pinecone and a geode. Most of his treasures were rocks or tree pieces.... She sat near the fire and to rest and eat, before she resumed her work in preparation for the long journey ahead. And as she watched Mutt try to become a pinecone, she was grateful for his company and thought back to how their friendship came to be.
The first month or more of her time alone was spent scouring the journal for spells that might help her find or communicate with her parents. She had always held out hope that they were alive, and so focused on transporting, telepathic communication, even time travel. However, her experience with her magical abilities had been limited so far to instinctual responses, and so she had no success. One particularly hard day, Miakoda was flipping desperately through the pages when she stumbled onto a transcommunication spell, for contacting the spirit world. The thought that her parents might be dead hit her hard in the gut and she immediately tried the spell. It required an item from the deceased, and not wanting to risk the journal, she took a locket and chain from her neck that had once belonged to her mother. Through tears, and with uneven breathing, the girl went through the words and motions.... Nothing happened. Miakoda let out a scream of heartache and fell to the floor, yelling the final words of the spell again in anguish. The room engulfed her senses. Colors, tastes, sounds, all mashed together as if one entity, and then a flash of light zoomed about the room. She couldn't keep up, it was too fast. She looked to the table for the locket, but it was gone. She rubbed the tears from her eyes and looked at the journal, she didn't recognize all of the words in the spell. The page must have slipped part way through, the last words she had used were from a transmutation spell. "Great." She thought, "One less thing to remember my parents or help me find them." The silver blur eventually slowed down, but it wouldn't come down from the ceiling of the cave. As she laid back on her bed and watched it float around the room, she thought of how and why the spell went wrong and her insides began to harden. "Emotion. What use is it? If I hadn't been so angry and sad, I wouldn't have messed that spell up. If I hadn't been so afraid I would never have been separated from my parents. If I didn't miss them so much, I wouldn't be so miserable." This was the last time Miakoda cried about her parents. Or about anything for that matter. Eventually Mia found that the locket was actually sentient, and so he became her faithful, and only, companion for five years.
Her back story:
Since our last adventure Jilly and Salem have traveled home to visit family and friends. She also took the time to work on new combinations with her ingredients. Some of her concoctions fizzled, and some created some interesting effects, but one in particular turned out to be horrific.
“Alright, steady now...”Jilly muttered to herself as she tipped the gunpowder into the bubbling vial. “Too much wouldn’t be good...” Salem, her pet cat, arched his back and hissed. “Don’t worry buddy. I’ve got this.”
Without warning, the vial exploded. Salem yowled in surprise. Jilly shrieked, launching herself backwards. “Shit!” The explosion destroyed her lab table, and in its wake was a fire. The alchemist threw her fireblanket onto the still manageable fire as fast as she could. There was still something to be learned from lab safety after all.
“Oh crap! Salem!” In the far corner of the room, Salem weakly meowed and showed his face. The poor cat’s whiskers were blown clean off his face. “Oh, Salem.” Jilly sighed in relief. He would have to endure the embarrassment of bumping into things for weeks on end (or at least until a new set grew in), but that was better than the alternative. The alchemist herself barely escaped demise. Her eyebrows and hair did not, unfortunately. She groaned, running her fingers through her singed locks. It was the second time this month! “Well, I might as well record the findings.” Next to the recipe that created the explosion, she wrote: ‘USE WITH GREAT CARE’.
Jilly became extremely nervous with making new potions after that and decided it was time to learn a new skill on the side. She sought out her old friend Juana and asked her to teach a few moves. Juana, thrilled to see her friend, was happy to teach her how to use a dagger. It was then that Juana introduced Jilly to her young friend, Miakoda, who happened to be very good in the art of magic, but was lacking in social skills. The trio trained together for years, and grew close.Jilly had been feeling off lately. The alchemist desperately wanted to write the sensation off as a stomach bug, but there was a sense of urgency in the air, and Salem alerted her to it. “It’s time to return, isn’t it?” She smiled wistfully. She knew she would miss these peaceful days with Juana and Miakoda. The young alchemist approached her friends with the news. “So that’s what that dreary feeling was”, commented Mia. Her premonition was rarely wrong, and this news confirmed it. “You felt it too?” Mia nodded. “If we want to make it there in time, we’ll have to leave by nightfall.” “We? You want to come with?” Jilly was ecstatic. Mia rolled her eyes. “Obviously. Who else will prevent you from blowing yourself up?” “Hey! Chemistry is a precise science, you know?” Jilly retorts. “Anyway, might as well make it three, Juana. Come with us!” Juana smiled sadly. “‘Fraid not, kiddos. These old bones are going nowhere.” Even Mia seemed sad. “Is there no way?” “No can do, Mia. Honestly, I’m still pretty worn out from last time.” Juana was apologetic. “I’m going to have to sit this one out.” Jilly sighed and hugged her friend. “Alright. Keep in touch, okay? I’m gonna miss you a lot, Juana.” Mia shook her head at the emotional display. “Oh come on, Jilly. It’s not like we’ll never see her again. We’ll be back, Juana. Until next time.” Sadly, they departed without her.
Her character Evelina and her companion Alfie: Her story: As Jilly and Mia slowly made their way to the Wayward Squirrel, they fished and slept out under the stars. “Now this is the life.” Jilly eagerly chomped into a roasted fish. Beside her, Salem was doing the same. Mia snorted in amusement. Like owner, like pet. “Whawt’s sho funny?” Jilly garbled behind a mouthful of fish. “Nothing. Eat your fish.” Mia ate some as well, hiding her smile. The mage’s ex-locket uncurled itself from her wrist, basking in the moonlight. Abruptly, Salem stopped eating and hissed violently. “Salem, what’s wrong?” Jilly dropped her fish. The cat only hissed again, and dashed into the forest. “Salem! Don’t run off by yourself!” The alchemist followed suit. Mia sighed, and put the fish down. That effectively ruined dinner. “Might as well go see what it is.” She motioned for her metallic blob. “Stay close”, she warned, running into the woods. Huffing and puffing, the mage finally caught up her friend. “Slow down, will you?” she wheezed. Before Jilly could respond, the trio was suddenly accosted by the very ground they were standing on. They had walked right into a trap! “What the hell?” Jilly yelped, limbs bent at uncomfortable angles. Salem meowed in distress. Mia spat out some leaves. “Lovely.” Before she could tell her metallic blob to cut them loose, a dark figure materialized. “Well, this is not what I was expecting.” The figure stepped out of the shadows, revealing a travel-weary, purple-haired woman. She rubbed her eyes groggily. “I’m really sorry, guys. Lemme cut you loose.” The woman got right to work sawing the trap’s strings apart. In no time, they were free. “What the hell?” Jilly said, softer this time. “That was for the forest animals.” The woman explained. “Normally I’d offer you girls dinner as an apology, but...” As if on cue, her stomach rumbled. She flushed in embarrassment. Mia groaned. The mage didn’t want to extend hospitality towards a stranger who just tried to catch her for dinner, but she couldn’t leave her hungry either. “Come back with us. We have fish.” “Really?” The purple-haired girl almost immediately began salivating. “Yes. Now come before we change our minds.” With that, Mia headed back towards camp. “Alright! Thanks guys, you’re a lifesaver.” She whistled. “Alfie, c’mon now. There’s dinner!” A small black and white goat popped out from behind the bushes and bleated happily, blissfully unaware of the awkward exchange that just happened between the three girls.
Jilly and Mia watched as the stranger single-handedly demolished their supply of food. Jilly would’ve been impressed, if she weren’t more concerned with the fact that the food was supposed to last three days. “So, um, what’s your name?” “Evelina, but that’s what my folks used to call me. I prefer Eva.” The vagabond answered. “What’re your names?” “I’m Jilly and she’s Mia.” The alchemist said. “What brings you to this stretch of the woods?” “Actually, not too long ago, I used to go around with my crew, the Nameless Souls. But we disbanded a while back, and I was feeling up for adventure, so-” “Adventure?” “Disbanded?” Jilly and Mia asked at the same time. Eva put her hands up. “Whoa, whoa, one at a time, ladies.” She joked. “Most of my crew were older than me, and they’d adventured for a lot longer than I have. They were tired, wanted to settle down, you know the deal.” “That’s funny. Same here.” Jilly said. That was when Jilly told Eva all about the Misfits and t

((As there's no mention of a need for an rp segment, the didn't write one. ^.^;; diabolical trusted lieutenant here, posting for the fearless leader who lives several hours in the future. I fear our sixth member, Cream, has encountered some difficulties and may be without internet for a while. =/))

(( Wow you two have a whole world in there, don't you. pokes at it ^.^))
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
Each of the were summoned to the Inn in different ways but all immediately grasped the importance of the hand delivered message sent. Some took longer then others to arrive using their own transportation however all eventually graced the table and waited for more information.
With drink and food abundantly available, it was obvious each member was delighted to simply visit and bond with the new members plus enjoy the companionship so familiar from past adventures, while catching up on news since the last time they saw each other. No one could deny the expectant anticipation in the air along with worry of what world shaking events has or will happen.
While at the table, they all await further information in their own way. Some nervously wringing their hands, petting their companions, others with a calm demeanor, yet a couple checking and double checking supplies and equipment of their profession.
May of the Bard class: "Bards/Kisaengs--How charming are these characters? Very, and handy at getting folks to cooperate. They can usually sing or play, and they're great storytellers. So they're a little light-fingered and no one's pocket is totally safe, but no one's perfect, right? A Kisaeng in your party can be beyond price, as these folks are very accomplished in all the arts, including those of seduction. The perfect host or hostess in the gorgeous costume with the full flask of refreshment makes the perfect spy as well. Be sure to watch the fan. It can become a weapon in no time flat."
Oceahna of the Mage class: "Magic Users/Jincara--Got a spell for that? These folks do, and they come in all sorts of specialties. In classic mode, they are handy at making things a lot easier and conjuring up needful items. Fire, Ice, or Alohomora? Why, yes, indeed! A Jincar is much the same, but works through Ki, the inner energy that allows control of the elements and forces of nature. Wands are not needed when a simple movement of the hand will do. There is a price in fatigue, though, as each spell tends to drain the caster for a bit. Use heavy power wisely."
Chook of the Warrior class:
"Warriors/Warangi--for those who want to open locked doors by kicking them in and the like. Lots of physical strength here, and not easily frightened. Magic weapons are allowed, but no outright casting of spells. Besides, nothing tops a big shiny sword. Might is right, tyvm.
The Warang is slightly different, since he or she pledges to protect those who cannot defend themselves. All fights are fair; all punishments just, and any death is carefully considered. The code of honor is strong in this one. The plus side is an increase in blade skill that is awesome to behold."

Willow of the Vagabond class:
"Vagabonds/Illjimaes-sort of a Jack/Jill of all trades. Within the realm of the Squirrel, not much technical expertise comes with this, but it does have quite a MacGyver factor. If you don't know who MacGyver is--well--you're waaaayy young. Call your Mom before you leave. She worries.
Any Illjimae is a legend, a "dark knight" to champion those in need. Up walls, across roofs, whatever it takes to breach the impenetrable, an Illjimae can do it. Good at distraction and disguise as well, but may be a touch too slick for his or her own good."

Kronus of the Ranger class:
"Rangers/Seunshin--Even the trees love this character! Critters will lick their wounds clean and plants will bind them with sap. They're graceful and light footed as well, and know a bunch about nature. They're also hot with arrows.
Just as hot with missles is a Seunshi, and those missles includes stars, small blades, etc. BTW, this is a "grey" ability in Sinhae, as the inhabitants have been denying any type of stealth fighters for centuries, and outsiders often think they don't exist there. But they do, oh, yes, they do."

Emma of the Alchemist class:
"Alchemists/Danhaks--Need healing? Got a heavy puzzle to solve or a formula to make? Lost in a maze without a map? Here are your folks. No challenge too great. They truly are legends in their own minds, and sometimes everyone else's.
You have a Danhak in your party? No, no, of course you don't! That would give you a person who could conjure an explosive out of a certain small rock and a touch of gunpowder. Too powerful, so they're outlaws in Sinhae. You're the Danhak? Better pretend to be something you're not, and save your companions the trouble of breaking you out of jail--over and over and..."

Jed of the Ranger class:
"Rangers/Seunshin--Even the trees love this character! Critters will lick their wounds clean and plants will bind them with sap. They're graceful and light footed as well, and know a bunch about nature. They're also hot with arrows.
Just as hot with missles is a Seunshi, and those missles includes stars, small blades, etc. BTW, this is a "grey" ability in Sinhae, as the inhabitants have been denying any type of stealth fighters for centuries, and outsiders often think they don't exist there. But they do, oh, yes, they do."

Abigail (Mage) ~ Angelica (Bard) ~ Starboard (Vagabond) ~ Kalyna (Warrior) ~ Alixia (Ranger) ~ Yasha (Vagabond) ~ Shalinda (Mage) ~ Levity (Alchemist)
Abigail -
Name: Abigail
Secret: True identity is Princess Sentine
Age: 20 years old
Sex: Female
Height: 5’9”
Eye color: Pale blue with light purple around her iris
Hair color: Bright white-yellow – wears wigs as disguises so nobody will recognize her
Special ability: She is a Mage. She also is a telepath, but usually only uses this gift with animals.
Companion: She has a mage created locket that contains her shadow-creature companion, Rune.
Story: Sentine was born in a palace hospital and raised with 4 younger siblings. When Sentine was a little girl she was told to study the arts, in the hopes that she would be a great bard, like her mother. However, Sentine did not have the musical gift; instead she had the power of the Mage running through her body. As she grew she focused her learning on court politics, strategy, and combat. She learned how to control and wield her mage powers before she was even a young teen.
For her eighth birthday, Sentine’s father gave her a locket that was created by the shadow-keep people of the north. The locket is the home of a powerful and unique creature, a shadow protector. Rune is the shadow-creatures name. After a mage releases him from the locket, Rune can affect real world objects by changing shape and size. Rune most often appears as a large dragon and loves flying around with Sentine on his back. Sentine and Rune are inseparable and together they form a formidable team.
Sentine is destined to become Queen of her realm. However, she felt inadequate to make decrees due to her lack of real world experience. Therefore, she decided to go out and explore the world in order to grow in ways that she never could have done behind the castle walls. Sentine decided to call herself Abigail in order to conceal her identity from both friends and foes.
Angelica -
Name: Angelica Faye (aka The Angel)
Age: 25
Occupation: Songstress, Socialite
Hobbies: Singing, shopping, travelling
Personality: Commonly referred to as The Angel because of her angelic voice and appearance. Men, women and even children are instantly charmed by her beauty, resulting in a large number of admirers (word has it that they even started a fan club). She is quite vain and hates to get dirty. She loves to be the centre of attention, tends to be selfish and is used to constantly getting her way.
She does not like physical confrontations (that is her bodyguard's job) and has the ability to manipulate situations to her advantage. Her rule of thumb is to charm her enemies first and get them off-guard. As an entertainer, she is skilled at grabbing and holding the attention of crowds. Despite her diva-like personality, she truly enjoys music and loves to sing.
Appearance: Beautiful and she knows it. Has lusciously thick golden locks that she keeps artfully arranged, pale blue eyes that look almost grey, and flawless fair skin she is immensely proud of. She loves to dress fashionably (to her, fashion IS function) and is a big spender when it comes to her appearance. She never runs out of things to wear as her many admirers often give her extravagant gifts of luxurious dresses and expensive jewels.
Starboard -
Name: Starboard
Age: mid-twenties
Height: 5'6"
Tattoos: 4. Ribs, arm, behind the ear, and leg.
Physical description: Lean, wears a lot of black and clothes from various planets. Dark brown/violet eyes and hair color is usually purple, teal and pink. She also dyes it dark blue, aqua and ombres.
Strengths: She's smart and good at thinking on the go. She's agile and somewhat strong but is more likely to be stealthy in a situation than muscle her way in. She can drive or fly almost anything.
Weaknesses: Sarcastic and daredevil. Not that physically strong. (though she has gained some muscle and skills with weapons after she was woefully unprepared last year when she had her first adventure with the Nightowls.) Does not often think of future consequences.
About: Starboard is captain of her own space ship, running supplies back and forth to the planets. She has friends in low places, keeps a watch out for anything too sinister going down, and has deals with everyone, with one eye on her back and the other on the skies. She loves it. And so what if her cargo is only mostly legit? Sometimes rules are made to be broken.
Backstory: She grew up in a farming community and learned how to drive and then fly, at a very young age. Flying has always been her passion. She has worked her way up from sailor to captain and has had her own ship for 4 years now.
She switched companies a few times. Not all companies are good and she had her fair share of assholes in the mix. Most of the time they were honest folks but there were also lowlifes and smugglers. Starboard actually didn't mind the smugglers, at least not the ones that went by the code. They were always good for a drink and a tale. She was known as Starboard on most planets for the little anchor tattoo behind her right ear.
She found out about one ship that was smuggling diseased fruit and inadvertently became involved with the galactic law. The authorities were grateful for her help, as the shipment could have killed hundreds of people. They said they would pay her and grant her certain permissions within the system if she would work for them on the side. She didn't want her name in any database so she said no to them. However, the planet's sheriff approached her privately and told her that if she wanted she could still help people on the planets, under the table, if she wanted. That intrigued her.
Last year she joined a group called the Nightowls and helped a motely crew save their friends and royalty from certain disaster from evil elves and corrupt governments. She received another summons this year and has decided to answer it in person.
Kalyna -
Name: Kalyna
Age: 18 years old
Sex: Female
Physical appearance: Long an wavy dark brown hair. Dark brown eyes. Skin tone number 4 from the Wardrobe. Freckled cheeks and brown lips.
Abilities: She stands out with the sword, but can also handle other weapons, like the bow or axe. She's good at preparing traps, and also at detecting them. Kalyna also possesses the magic of Kalora, but this magic only works on that island.
Personality: She is a kind and funny person who likes to make jokes (she is not shy at all!). She's got a strong bond with animals, especially with birds, and would do anything to protect them.
Companion: Spike, the parrot, is always by her side (on her shoulder!).
Possessions: The map of Kalora, her mother's golden pearl bracelet and her father's silver sword.
Story: This is the story of Kalyna. She was born and raised in the remote island of Skeylarod. When she was a little child, Kalyna would always wander her homeland for long hours and venture with the fellow native creatures that inhabited the island's jungle. Her mother and father, Amantha and Kylar, loved their wonderful daughter more than words can say. It was a grand and true love. Amantha and Kylar knew Kalyna had a kind and noble heart, and that is why they both decided to reveal her a dangerous secret that has been hidden by their family for centuries: a treasure map. But this was not an ordinary map, no. It was the map that led to Kalora, the desolated and dark island that only one man survived to tell its existence. The parents handed the map to their daughter. It was the time to fulfill her destiny. They did not say anything else to Kalyna about Kelora; they only told her that she had to journey on her own and discover the island's secret by herself. Kalyna dropped a few tears off of her eyes, and gave her parents a strong farewell hug. Amantha and Kylar did not want their daughter to leave and sail the angry seas on her own, but there was no choice.
Long and wavy brunette hair, like a daring horse. Deep dark brown eyes, like a brave bear. Kalyna was definitely the most adventure-spirited pirate in Skeylarod. No doubt she was the right one to do this task.
Wind: Northeast. - said out loud while staring at the sails. - Sword: ready. - said while holding her father's silver sword. - Bracelet: in place. - said with a smile and caressed the golden pearl bracelet her mother gave her before she left. - I think we're ready, aren't we, Spike?
Arrgh! - exclaimed her feathered companion, which was standing on her left shoulder.
Kalyna took a deep breath, lowered her head and, for a moment, stared at the map her hand was holding. She squeezed the old map and set her sight on the horizon. Her eyes and mouth were tight. And her heart, strong. She was ready.
~ ~ ~
Powerful storms. Rebellious waves. Furious winds. After a long and shaken voyage, Kalyna finally arrived. It was an enormous and isolated island. Gloomy and sorrowful. The mist invaded the land. The crows' noise invaded the the air. The skies were black and the weather wet and frigid.
But her companion was very scared to reply.
Kalyna opened the map of Kelora to recognize their current location on the unknown isand. She did not know where to go, or what her mission was. She was about to close it again, when the clouds started to fade. The harvest moon in the dark night sky illuminated the map, and this one started to release a white and strong glow. Strange and unknown symbols started to appear all over the ancient parchment. Kalyna could feel the map's energy flow all over her body.
Suddenly, the map stopped glowing, and the strange symbols vanished from it. But Kalyna. Something seemed to have changed on her inside.
Magic? She wondered. An illusion? Probably.
Kalyna and Spike walked for hours, and still could not find any clue. Both were very tired to go back to the ship, so she assembled a campfire in a near clearing and decided to sleep there for the night. It was not as bad as she expected. Actually, she felt comfortable, and so did Spike. The night was calm and inspired tranquility.
~ ~ ~
The sun started to appear in the horizon and the air was vigorous. It was time to move forward.
There he was. An old man sitting on a rock inside the cave. His hair and beard were long and gray. His deep blue eyes were tired.
Kalyna, my dear. - said the old man with a hoarse voice.
Grandpa? It's you! - exclaimed Kalyna and ran to him to give him a big hug. Tears of joy fell down from her eyes. It has been years since the last time they were together.
I've been waiting for this moment my whole life, my dear Kalyna. - said the old man. - You are the next Kalathar.
I… I don't understand. What are you talking about, Grandpa? - she asked.
You were born to be the next Protector of Kelora, my dear. The island that once was a land full of magic and life, but that unfortunately has been taken by evil beigns. - he replied. - Here, take this amulet. - said while placing the bejeweled amulet on his granddaughter's hand. - Protect it with your life, my dear Kalyna. - he said, and gave her a warm hug. - My mission ends here. - said the old man, exhaling his last breath of life.
I won't fail, Grandpa. I won't. - said Kalyna with a trembling voice, while holding the amulet tight. The tears filled her eyes.
She took a deep breath. The time has come. She was ready to be the next Kalathar.
Kalyna placed the amulet on her neck. As soon as she did so, the amulet's magic was released, turning Kalyna's hair into a fading teal colour. The map's strange symbols appeared once again, but this time covering Kalyna's face, arms and legs.
Kalyna now possesses the magic of Kelora. A strong magic that can turn this dark island into a land of peace and harmony.
But it won't be easy. The evil is ready to make the first move.
Alixia -
Name: Alixia
Age: 33
She is a healer; knows plants and healing rituals. She was raised by her grandmother who taught her how to read energy, and align with the solution - not the problem - that a client has going on.
She has a parrotlet, Jacob, who was found with broken wings and who chose to stay with her after his full recovery. They communicate through energy, and Jacob lets her know what he feels from people. So they can feel when a person is speaking the truth, or when there are violent or aggressive energies going on with them- while the person may try to appear calm or even cheerful. Due to this, she prefers to avoid people and social interactions and lives quietly in the woods.
She is good with bow and knife, she is surprisingly strong and fast when she has to. Her protective nature and her loyalty towards a handful of carefully picked friends make her a good and reliable companion. She never talks about the scars on her face.
Tall and slender body, long brown hair, dark clothes, intense eyes. She has a lovely voice, and a very sweet laugh, but rarely ever shows it.
Yasha -
Name: Yasha Anvares Age: 28 Eye color: Green (the only thing that clearly stands out about her - she likes to say she was born invisible) Hair color: Dark brown Special ability: Is able to craft a lot of small, useful things out of almost nothing. Can and will eat anything without second thought, just like her rats. Sometimes it looks like there might be some kind of blood magic involved in her contraptions, which would also be a more rational explanation to her consuming raw meat on a regular basis. Companion: She's accompanied by a varying amount of sewer rats. Some are loyal and stay, others wander off and are replaced by new ones creeping up from wherever Yasha goes. They seem to share a mutual understanding and are very good at keeping watch while she sleeps. Just how deep their connection actually goes is a mystery.
Story: Yasha was born in the biggest city you've ever heard of, and if she has any living relatives, she hides the fact well. Her elaborately made hideouts include attics of houses that most definitely belong to other people, coal cellars, old servant's quarters, tunnels in the walls, sealed off clocktowers, sewers... they don't speak much about her these days, but when they do, they say
Here's my entry for the Catnip Thieves
Mage named Elethia + cat Mr. Scoots
Elethia had had enough of all of the rules and regulations imposed upon her by her family so she one day gathered her trusty companion Mr. Scoots and set out to seek fame and fortune (or so she hoped). She would reminisce about her adventures with the Wayward Squirrel and would think often about how they were doing. Settling into the life of a nomad she would travel from village to village. She would help others with her magic, earning money when possible, and having to flee early when her mayhem caused a few people to start looking for her.
Walking along a meandering bend with Mr. Scoots griping the whole time about his paws, she paused when she heard a trill go through the air. Extending her hand just in time, a bird alighted on it with a note in its mouth. She removed the note and curiously began to read it. Mr. Scoots waited impatiently, yowling the whole time for her to speak up. Startled by her sudden squeal of excitement, he was unprepared for her to whisk him through the air. She ran through the forest with a destination in mind for once. Her friends needed her!!
Arriving at the Wayward Squirrel she noticed the tension in the air. All of her companions from before were there and greeted her somberly. She joined them at a table and as they passed her a drink they informed her on what was going on. Mr. Scoots huddled closer to her, worried about the outcome of this adventure. While Lappy had faith in them, he wondered if they would be enough.
FehlerNr23: Polymath named Lizzy + mouse called RATTE
Character: shy around others (except good friends or normal strangers), good with pets, little creatures and kids, knows a lot, is good at problem solving, likes: liquorice, reading, rain, Background: Both parents still live, has two sisters, sliped by accident into the last WS-adventure. Could no longer stay at home after that and now travels the 'world' and seeks for the meaning of life.
Kushiel: Bard named Aodh + Slíocach, a dark sprite of the forest
Aodh is no one special, just a bard as he likes to say. Coming from the loins of an unseelie Sidhe, the musician does know a trick or two to get people to his attention. His human side however, offers a somewhat calming effect on the trickery running in his veins. A full blooded Unseelie would enjoy bringing disaster and despair for the fun of it and Aodh? Aodh is content with simply being where disasters happen and then later singing about them.
As halfblood he doesn't have a fixed home or safe haven, so he decided to become a bard and traveler. Now he simply follows the trails of impending doom. Aodhs musical talent manifests in songs or flute playing. He is said to charm people with his melodies so that they are vulnerable to whispered words and notions. This sort of influencing might already have started a war or two, once.
Life without adventure was pretty boring. Aodh wouldn't have dreamed he would miss his companions from the Catnip Thieves but he did. So, when word went out protectors were needed, the bard made his way to the tavern. He didn't need to wait long, as indeed some of his old acquaintances poured in. He could see Lizzy and wasn't that Elethia as well? Puting on a charming smile he sauntered towards the two and raised a hand in greeting. "And so we meet again it seems."
@ GreenRowan Sorry I just got back from going to pre-op with my Dad today and I added the two characters from my other team members. :)

First we'd like to introduce you to our characters: Akalia & Gunther (), Valera & Feng (), Myra & Shimmershadow (), Krios with Rhea & Kronos (), Verrek & SilentOne (), Matthew & Rusty () and last but not least Lilith & Jasper ()

Since our last wayward squirrel adventure, the team has been up to many new things and adventures. This is the story of how they all came back together this time around.
"YE STUPID ELF! GIT YER ARSE BACK HERE!" Valera screeched as she hopped on Feng's back and gave chase to Akalia. How dare she invite herself onto the ship?! The ship had a crew already, they didn't need one more!
Holding on tightly to Feng's back, the pair chased after the elf and her goat companion who went off in search of a room to claim as her own. "The girl is yours, I'll have me some roast goat fer dinner!" Val laughed manically as they rode through the narrow corridors.
Luckily for Akalia a sudden call came in, the Protectors were needed at once! Screens and sensors flashed on the ship as the message was received from the Wayward Squirrel. As if you hit the pause button, Feng stopped dead in his tracks and sent the pirate flying. Crashing into a set of stairs, Valera cursed under her breath as she got up and dusted herself off. Leaving the girl for a moment, Val and Feng returned to the cockpit to see what was the situation. It would seem she would need to contact the rest of her crew and head off towards the Wayward Squirrel. Wondering where they could all have gotten off to, Val sent everyone a call to contact her as soon as they could. Who knows maybe they were all gathered together somewhere? That would be convenient...
While waiting for her comrades to call her back, Valera picked up the mic for the PA system. "YOU! Akaleee-lee-ahhhhh! LIA! WHATEVER YER NAME WAS! TO THE COCKPIT NOW! Don't make me send Feng to come git yer arse, it may not come back in one piece." She chuckled aloud before hanging up the PA. Hopefully the girl was smart enough not to make the captain angrier.

Her excited run now a calm walk, Akalia wandered around the ship with Gunther at her side. She thought she had heard her new friend yelling after her, but just shrugged and continued on her way. She needed to find a room of her own after all, further introductions could made later. They were going to be together for a while now.
It was then that her senses were overwhelmed by a flash of light. Screens above the duo blinked in rhythm and the sound of a large crash reverberated through the walls. The whole ordeal sent Gunther into a small frenzy as he ran in circles bleating. Slightly scared herself, Akalia managed to catch the crazed goat, cuddling him her chest. Leaning against the nearest wall, she took a few deep breaths to calm herself and her companion.
"It's alright Gunther. I'm sure that Feng and...umm... Well, I'm sure that they've got it all figured out." She spoke soothingly to Gunther.
After finally managing to calm both herself and Gunther down, the elf's heart almost jumped out of her chest when the rabbit's voiced boomed and echoed throughout her new home.
"YOU! Akaleee-lee-ahhhhh! LIA! WHATEVER YER NAME WAS! TO THE COCKPIT NOW! Don't make me send Feng to come git yer arse, it may not come back in one piece." The rabbit chuckled before her voice disappeared. With a wide eye, large sigh, and head full of confusion Akalia made her way back to the cockpit, the little goat still in her arms.
Upon arrival Akalia finally put Gunther down. Both stayed in the doorway of the cockpit. The elf cleared her throat and spoke quietly, "It's Akalia."
Not sure if the captain had heard her, she spoke louder with a bit more cheer in her voice, "And, how did you do that? With your voice? It was so loud."
Never stopping with the questions, Akalia walked into the cockpit and stood to the side of the captain. "By the way, what's your name?"
The thought of grabbing one of the rabbit's ears for a pet crossed her mind, they looked so soft. But decided against it after remembering the threat of Feng and what he had done to the trespasser.

Verrek raced between trees on his Chimeriad speeder in the elven forest. He was following SilentOne's instructions now, the crow was far overhead and was guiding the Shade to the elven village where Myra had mentioned she lived. Verrek came out of the trees and found himself in a grassy forest glade, His crow companion SilentOne perched on a log at it's center.
Verrek pulled his speeder up alongside the crow who was munching on beetles. Break time!
The Pale scarred man pulled out his bag and jumped off the bike to land with a "THWUMP" in the luscious grass where he lay sprawled, marveling in the new sensations his body allowed him to feel. From his bag he pulled a bit of dried meat, even these bland bits of food were mouth-watering delicacies to him. After a while he got to thinking about the Chimeriad again. Had the Wayward Squirrel issued a summons yet?
He pulled out his call stone, might as well give the boss a call to let her know he would be at the elf village with Myra and Krios.
"Calling Captain Valera. Hey Val, Verrek here! How's life treating you? I'm a few minutes from the elf village on my way to meet Myra and Krios. Any word from Wayward Squirrel?"

Myra and Krios made their way up the path through the elven forest deep in conversation, catching up on last years highs and lows. ShimmerShadow flew overhead the tiny unicorn gliding on soft wings to keep pace with his friends. The demons Rhea and Kronos chattered excitedly from where they clung to the unicorn's neck. It seemed from the bandage on Krios' face and the plethora of fishing gear everyone carried that some adventure had taken place at the lake.
Suddenly, Myra heard a soft buzzing and her left dress pocket, where the call stone was hidden, shimmering red. Red! That´s Val´s color! Myra thought and fumbled eagerly for the communication unit. “Hello? Val?“ only a crackling sound was to hear which ended in a high and ear deafening shrill tone. “Huh! What was that?“ Myra cried out and Krios held his ears, too. A steady and rhythmic pulsing of red light showed Myra that the communication still stands yet it was a very bad connection. She pressed the call stone close to her ear in the effort to catch the sputtering syllables better, slowly comprehending the sense behind them. “Krios, that´s the captain calling! We´re needed to protect the Wayward Squirrel again! Lappy was found! Oh happy day! Yet something is deeply wrong, I didn´t understand all the things Val tried to tell me!“ Myra told her friend excitedly. “Val, going to send you the coordinates for a landing“, Myra shouted in an attempt to get the message over to the ship. “Krios is with me, we´re going to start packing immediately! Over and out!“
The young mage looked even more animated than ever. A new adventure! Marvelous! He could show of his new powerful staff and also fish for meals every evening! “Packing? I am set!“ he shouted, not looking forward to such boring things. “But, Krios, you can´t take all that stuff with you!“ Myra exclaimed, looking bewildered, running her eyes anxiously over the assembled tools they tried to carry back to the dwelling. “I can´t?“ Krios asked, a little bit miffed. “I need them! What should we eat if I don´t go angling for us?!“ “I am sure we´ll find something to eat on our way, my friend!“ Myra answered soothingly. “Think about last year, who knows what comes? We have to travel light! You can store the equipment in my house here, it won´t get lost.“
And that coming from a woman, Krios thought. Shouldn´t she be already off, packing for hours, moaning because all her dresses and dainty accessories don´t fit in her travel bag? Yet knowing Myra, he assumed she would be packing for hours yet entirely alchemistic supplies. “You´re probably right,“ he allowed, “let´s get cracking!“ and with a mighty war cry, he raced up to the hill. With a shake of her head, Myra followed, smiling.
Back in Myra´s little tree home, Krios sprawled out onto the settee and Myra mixing and packing her ingredients for healing and vindication, they chatted happily along. The demons and Shimmershadow rested in the shadow under the house, patiently waiting for their friends to arrive. Now and then, all three flew up, going for a spin over the dwelling, looking out for the ship they knew so well. “Look!“, Myra exclaimed, “When I started teaching, the elves gifted me this amazing light!“. She showed Krios a faintly glowing clear quartz, formed like a butterfly, attached to a brown leather string. “What does it do?“ the mage asked, all eyes. “It´s a white carbuncle“, Myra explained. “A guardian of real friendship. Whenever something happens to me or friends close to my heart caused by dark magic or poison, it is able to induce a decimation or even countermand it. For dark magic healing, you apply the carbuncle to the spot directly over the heart of the victim and if someone is poisoned, you immerse the stone into water and then brew a concoction out of the aqua.“ Krios whistled approvingly. “That´s pretty good stuff! Does it work, then?“ “I don´t know, never before had to try it“ the alchemist admitted. “We´ll see later yet there is hope we don´t need it anyway!“.
“I acquired something new, too!“ Kris said, full of excitement. "This is my new staff that gives me enhanced power granted by the Elders through rigorous training. I'll tell you a story about the beads they are 'treasure' acquired from the adventure I went on with the elders.“
Krios was excited to share what his new staff could do with Myra. "Well, I got it when adventuring in my dreams, but to show you that I must use my book spell." This had been something he had been doing ever since he first found the book. "Kaló Vivlío", he shouted into the air, then a whistling sound could be heard from above as a book came hurling from the sky and stopping in front of Krios. "In my dreams my ancestors would manifest showing their true selves, tall lanky beings with pointy ears and tall staffs which looked more like walking sticks." he paused to pick a favorite dream adventure, then the book flew open to a page and soon the area around everyone was a dark room and a video reel counting down from 3, 2, 1, and the dream came to life.
Krios was sitting on a boat with three of the ancestors with him how to improve his magic and what his companions could do for him in times of need. "We are honored that you have come so far in your magic from when we first started, we have found another piece to the staff that you need." Krios grew and grin, but knew it was not going to be easy to get the bead. Arriving at their destination, Krios took in the cave as a whole. It was a craggily old cave in the middle of the ocean, with waves crashing into the sides of the walls. They took their time going into the cave so they didn't collide with anything. Inside it was hard to see with it being dark but in a snap there was light as if it was growing out the side of the walls leading into the tunnel and down. The ancestors pushed Krios to go into the tunnel but they could not help him from here on out. They waited in the boat as Krios continued down the tunnel. As he walked more lights showed up in front as the ones behind him faded.
Getting to a large room and in the middle was a purple glowing bead. "It can't be that easy." He shouted hoping an enemy or something would happen, but nothing happened. So he accessed the room, there were raised buttons on the ground and a few on the walls around. He decided to step on one. In doing so a fireball shot from the ceiling hurling down at him. Krios being on his toes just in case something like this happened flung himself to the side rolling into another button, causing a mechanical sound to cling and start to move a mechanism under the room. A door across from him opened and a goblin came out of it. Krios was somewhat relieved that was all, but he suspects there was more to come. The goblin then noticed him and started to run full speed towards Krios. Krios didn't understand why the goblin would try to kill him as if Krios did something wrong. 'Maybe he is guarding the bead, but the bead is rightfully mine.' The whole time Krios is analyzing the situation the goblin was closer and slashing in the high at Krios but he was quick to dodge the incoming attacks left and right, Krios then put his hand out in front of him sending a fireball in the direction of the goblin. Sending the goblin flying back and landing on another button and bouncing up and hitting a button on the wall. Another door opened and a light beamed on a spot on the ground and the path leading from the spot started to fill with light and make its way towards the center of the room. He then had an 'ah ha' moment and knew what to do . Suddenly what seemed easy then became a harder task as the next monster to arrive was a Witch, who quickly focused on Krios and was summoning a minion. The minion spawned but didn't come towards him, but instead started to push buttons on the ground. Krios didn't need that to happen so he extended his arm again and a gust of wind was just and the minion was sent high into the air and then drop and crashing on the group feet from a button. Krios then looked at the Witch and the closest wall button. He had to get rid of the Witch if he wanted to press all the buttons, Running towards the button the Witch began another ritual but this one sent a wave of water in Krios's direction. Krios tried to dodge but, he was too late and the wave hit him causing him to fall to the ground and the water carrying him farther from the button. Krios then recovered as the Witch did another ritual, but Krios was up before she could finish and sent some icicles at her and he tried to deflect them but the icicles were too powerful and caused the Witch to stumble backward get even madder and started another ritual. Krios ran towards the button and hit it before the Witch could do anything. There was only one more button to press, but it was behind the Witch. Krios deceived it was time to pull out his ultimate weapon to destroy this Witch, shouting "Kaló Sýntrofos" causing both Kronos and Rhea to appear in his dream and were ready to fight. "It's time for the triple threat," Krios told them, they knotted. Each of them held out their right arms and held their wrist when their left arm chanting over and over again, "Bála Fotiás Ékrixi". Fireballs grew in their hands and soon the fireballs conjoined together in front of Krios as the continued to chant and give the fireball growth. The Krios shouted "RELEASE!" the fireball was then sent soaring through the air and towards the Witch, who was in shock by the fireball. The fireball hit her causing her to incinerate, the ashes fell to the ground. Krios then raced to the button as Kronos and Rhea headed towards the bead. Hitting the button another beam of light came from the ceiling running light to the middle then the middle of the room spun until lined up correctly and the light continued to the stand on which the bead was sitting. the bead them started to float from its holding. Kaiidth
Kaiidth stood as she heard someone knocking on her door. She sighed opening the door knowing from experience someone knocking so late into the night was never a good sign. She opened the heavy oak door the lit street lamp casting a shadow over her visitors face.
“hello, can I help you?” Kaiidth watched the hooded figure as he slowly pulled out an envelope. He held it out to her as she reached for it she saw the WS seal. Once kaiidth had the envelope securely the hooded figure turned heading back out into the dark night.
Kaiidth closed her door and headed back to her office. Since her last WS adventure kaiidth had lived in a city learning all she could about apothecary. She'd seen to much death and damage to people she'd cared about to go back home to her mountains. She wanted to help people in need. She kept her office open all hours of the night and never turned anyone away.
Sitting in her large office chair as she opened the letter. Her faithful companion Howie came over to her sensing her tension. He leaned against her legs as she read the letter. The letter told her what was going on and asking if she’d return and participate in WS4. Kaiidth was unsure if she had the time to participate.
Kaiidth mulled over this for a few days deciding to pack up and see if she could be helpful. She wouldn’t be as active as she had been in the past but she'd help where she could. She packed all of her herbs and tools she'd need. She looked at her bow and arrows grabbing them just in case but bundling them tightly so no one would know what they were.
Donning on her white bolero jacket she shouldered
her belongings and headed towards where the letter told her to go. All the time Howie following behind her with his own pack of important items.
springjoy
It was hot. Too hot to not be summer yet. And so dry. Spring wiped the sweat off her face for the hundred time, and dropped into a chair on the front porch of her cottage. She had spent a long day tying up plants in the orchard. It felt good to spit down.
Suddenly, Selawick zipped past her foot and under the door. Spring turned and saw the silent, hooded figure walking up the path and reached behind her chair and touched her weapon. Hoods meant only two things, and she wasn't going to take chances after the ruckus of last year. The silent figure nodded to her and held out an envelope. The envelope was one you only had to see once to know what it meant. Without a word, he turned and walked back the way he came.
Spring lived on the edge of a forest. Her small farm of fruit and berries and a collection of rescued animals was spread down the hill to the meadow below while her little house sat on the hill with a view of the forest and the hills beyond to the ocean. She had lived here a long time and made friends with the tribes in the forest. That was where she had met Quercus (SlashSlashX) who had taught her a few herbs for healing or which foods to eat to best satisfy her hunger. Quercus and Spring had spent hours together, as both of them were archers and shared a love for the forest. Though their heritage was drastically different, they were fast friends. Quercus' people lived far into the wilderness, and this year Quercus had gone home. She had been shy to say, but from the pink blush on her face, Spring knew that some lucky guy was probably waiting for Quercus to get back.
The rest of the fellowship had filtered away, some for far off lands and adventures of their own, others for personal reasons. And so it was that Spring found herself with a new group of fellow protectors.
It took her three days to get to Squirrely's. Spring knew her clan would be there already probably. They might pretend to be slow and casual, but they all knew how to make things interesting. Spring had no doubt they'd all get along just fine. Except maybe Selawick. The little mouse was small, and fast and stealthy. He was brave for a mouse, and generally friendly. But a passel of cats? Well, even highly trianed mice have their limits.
She shifted her quiver and pushed open the door. Selawick peeked out from her shoulder at the basket lovecraft had. It smelled suspiciously of cat. He was not impressed.
"Well, Jalapenos", said Spring "Here we are!"
Tea_Roll
Meanwhile, back at Teacus Castle, Tea_Roll wonders in, exhausted from all the tea parties she crashed that day. Sighing loudly, she crosses the library quickly to her big and important looking desk. Taking the days mail from under her arm, she tosses it on to the desk. "I'll have to read all of those fan mail letters after I've had some time to unwind.", she says to herself.
It doesn't take her long to fix a cup of tea and start tinkering in her lab. It takes an even shorter amount of time to mix components that shouldn't be mixed and cause an explosion in the lab. After smoothing down her burnt hair and checking for eye brows, which she ecstatically finds that they're still there, she decides to check on her incubated egg that Prometheus found for her. (Prometheus is Tea_Rolls companion from the first WS adventure. He has finally gotten over his bitting habit.) Finding the egg cracked and empty, Tea_Roll suspiciously looks over at Prometheus perched on a haphazardly stack of books, he shrugs his shoulders at her.
"Well, if you see anything out of the ordinary, come get me. Don't eat it!!" Tea_roll scolds Prometheus. With a snear, he nods.
Returning to the library, Tea_Roll flops into the oversized cushy chair at her desk. No sooner then she tucks her legs under the desk, the desk starts to hiss at her. "That's a first." She tells the desk. Peaking under it, she is greeted by a creature hidden in the shadows with a pink hue to it, hissing at her. Scrambling to open the biggest desk drawer as quickly as she can, she pulls out a handfuls of assorted snacks. Tea_Roll creates a pile of macaroons, pocky, petit fours, a half eaten cupcake and Reece peices. Leaving the pile, she gathers the mail and sits a small distance away, keeping an eye on the pile out of the corner of her eye.
Sorting the mail, Tea_Roll discards a third of it as junk mail, finding only a few good coupons, one of which she hesitates to keep wondering if she'll be anywhere near ASP University before it expires. The amount of fan letters is smaller then she expected and while she is reading the third one telling her how awesome she is, she starts to hear a nibbling coming from the pile of snacks. After reading the last two fan letters, she puts all of them aside so she can give them to her PR rep to answer. Excited to see four postcards, she hurriedly goes through them. The first one is from saying she's having a blast traveling in her gypsy wagon in search of Kahn. Wishing Silver Legends were with her. Two are from postcrossing. And the last is from with a picture of some cliffs on it and on the back read, "DYE!!!"
The last peice of mail is a beautifully adorned envelope, that Tea_Roll recognizes immediately the seal of Wayward Squirrel. "A summoning of the protectors!" Tea_roll says under her breath. Clutching the letter, a grin spreads across her face that almost instantly is replaced by a frown. The realization that Silver Legends was scattered across realms and she would be unable to annoy her favorite team of adventures was almost too much for her to bare.
Then her thoughts trailed to the last time she visited Fresh in the insane asylum. Had she regretted committing him there? Not really, he would get the help he needed for his cake addiction. But what to do if any of the other Legends got curious about his whereabouts? They probably would be fine knowing he's in an asylum but the part where she told them they were signing anti-cake petitions but as it turns out committing someone to an asylum takes more then one signature might prove to be more problematic then she thought.
A grin returned to her face, bigger then it was before. Although known for being a world renowned alchemist, this time around she would take on the role of a bard. A better, more awesome bard then Fresh ever was and thereby making everyone forget he ever existed. It was so clever, it was stupid! She grinned like an idiot to herself in the dim light of the library.
Bringing her back to the present was the nudging and deep purring, that sounded strangely like bagpipes, of a cat sized pink Dream Dragon.
"Oh! Hello cutie!!" She said to her new friend.
In a surprisingly deep Scottish accent he sang, "Hello there."
Not sure what to make of the creature, she pleasantly smiled at him. She decided she would leave for Squirrely's in the morning. Morning came and went. Tea_Roll slapped together an attire she figured to be fitting for a bard out of her cloths that she used for dressing up for themed tea parties. She then packed cakes, teas, her travel tea cups and pot set, some kind of instrument and the unopened WS envelope. By mid-afternoon she was off with her Dream Dragon companion humming a Celtic sounding tune trailing close behind her.
TerrenaAnimula
After the ending of the adventures in WS3, Terrena was able to have a nice, long at home adventure doing some nice rest and relaxation. Even her companion, MediaNox, was enjoying the rest.
The bout of a little R&R eventually came to an end while she was out with MediaNox enjoying walking around one of the trails on her lands. A great horned owl came flying past to land on one of the tree branches on the side of the path she was on and was holding onto a letter. Terrena goes to the owl and thanks him for the letter and pets him. The owl coos a little before taking back off.
After the departure of the owl, Terrena opens the letter and reads its contents. "Well, MediaNox," she says to her faithful companion, "it looks like it is time for another adventure. It's from the Wayward Squirrel and they need our help."
Terrena and MediaNox make themselves ready to head towards the Wayward Squirrel. All the while Terrena thinks about how she is joining a new crew due to the absence of some of her friends of their Silver Legends crew. Although how she still ended up with the same crazy warrior (speaking of...where did she get the idea of Terrena chasing after unicorns anyway?) and the previously an alchemist now turned bard since there is no Fresh (which...what happened to him anyway?) who the warrior is always throwing over a cliff, she has no idea. But that doesn't matter, because it is adventuring time and the new crew mates won't know what to think hanging out with these three ex-Silver Legends.
Reaper
Reaper was at a very fun place that rhymes with May-Gus, but she can't really tell you what happened there, because what happens there stays there wink Also Spike still thinks he's there if his colors didn't make that clear, he's refusing to go back to his stealthy black and instead looks like some pricey hunk of marble all cream and gold -glare-. And Gali? He's off...somewhere. That May-Gus place was really great for their marriage because they didn't have to spend any time together at all
Lovecraft
Lovecraft was taking a break from her list, sitting down at home couch with a drink in her hand, surrounded by a dozen cats.
"I am going to KILL for this!" she utters. "That stupid potion I used last Wayward Squirrel to get past the guards turning them into cats caused this. I don't understand how two MALE guards ended up making more cats tho?" She shakes her head. "Then none of the other Silver Legends would take the damn things."
She takes another drink calming down. Every time she turned around she swore another cat showed up. Witchy had gone almost missing since the last squirrel. Last she heard was something about a Reading to a Rainbow. Lovecraft was pretty sure she meant she was reading while ON some rainbow but you really didn't know with Witchy. Terrena had been flitting about here and there. Something about unicorns and trying to catch one. Thankfully she hasn't seen @ Tea_Roll around. Small miracles. had gone real quiet. Lovecraft was pretty sure he was on a cake bender somewhere. She did receive a small video clip...
It included a note saying "Cake by the ocean...Hot Damn!" Lovecraft can only assume that is him on the far right flapping his arms from the angle shown.
Suddenly, appearing in her lap is a beautiful envelope with her name spelled out.
"Oh no!" she moans "The Wayward Squirrel people again. Seriously, who did they lose this time!" Then she realizes none of her Silver Legends are around and smiles. "I can sit on the sidelines with and push them off cliffs cheer on everyone else. She promptly pulls out a pen and rapidly responds that she will not be showing up, but before she can send it to the winds, a cat snatches it up and destroys it. "SON OF A lots of expletives happen here CAT!!!" Collecting herself, she decides she will just go to the Squirrel and respond in person.
She heads out her door and off the the Squirrel. "Plus side going in person, they have some awesome drinks." Lovecraft looks down and notices the cats following behind her. "How did you get out the door? No matter, maybe some idiots will pick you up and put you in their bags and I won't have to deal with you any more."
Some time later she arrives at the squirrel and enters tentatively inside. Hoping no one sees her so she can just order a drink, tell them she isn't going and escape into the crowd. But that doesn't happen.
One by one each of them arrive at the Squirrel with their own intentions of what was going to happen. Reaper was looking for a new group as hers had disbanded needing some time apart and reflect upon their last mission. Same thing for Springjoy and Kaiidth.
Lovecraft was just trying to be a spectator on the sidelines until she hears a familiar voice calling and waving at her. "Terrena," she sighs. "She is back from unicorn hunting or whatever she was doing!" Takes a deep breath and walks over.
"Are you ready to do this! I'm ready to do this," TerrenaAnimula says hoping up and down. "I need to get away."
"Well...I wasn't going to go, but I really can't let you go alone." Lovecraft lowers her head.
"Oh," Terrena stops hoping about. "Sorry I was being very Tea_Roll like. Have you heard from her?"
Lovecraft quickly clasps a hand over her mouth. "DON'T say that name to loudly! She may appear!" She slowly removes her hand from Terrena's mouth.
Reaper walks up to them, "What names shouldn't you be saying wifey?" She puts her arm around Lovecraft.
"No no no! We aren't married that so was not legal," she pushes Reaper's arm off of her.
"She doesn't want me to say Tea_Roll's name," Terrena replies, smiling.
"Oh!" Reaper says. "You guys going? Perhaps you could use another?" Hoping they pick up the hint that she is looking for a new group.
"Of course we are!" TerrenaAnimula replies, "Want to be with us? That would be great!"
Suddenly, Springjoy bounces up. "Oh you guys are taking new members?! Count me in!"
"Wait! What?" Lovecraft looks around confused. "I really wasn't...Well we can't really be Silver Legends any more. We need a new name."
They talk and discuss and debate for what seems like DAYS! Finally after several attempts, they just throw every word they came up with into a name.
"We shall be the Dazed Denizens of Crazy Delusional Chopped Jalapeno-Ville!" they proudly announce.

''Calm down girlie! Yer Fallen Angels can handle it!'' Squirrely says, clumsily patting her arm. ''Your trunks have been sent to the Nexus port and we should beat feet if we don't wanna miss yer ship!''
At the Nexus port Squirrely and True say goodbye reluctantly. ''Well, I'd tell ya to be good but I know better!'' Squirrely says with a laugh and a hug. ''Ye come back safely ya hear?'' Atrueheart laughs merrily and gives him a big kiss then boards the ship that will navigate the Nexus and bring her safely to the Wayward Squirrel once again. Arriving first, True strums gently on her mandolin and waits for the rest of her team, knowing they would not have ignored her summons.

The pair reacted instantaneously, they knew there was only one person who would send someone to venture into a place like this to find them and there could be only one reason for doing so. True needed them. It was time to head for the Wayward Squirrel.

Morning dawned on Veleria and Talliessa arose from her bed with a smile. Lexa stirred beside her, muttering incoherently. Talli prepared swiftly. The letter she'd received the night before pushing her tired mind onward. She had a peaceful breakfast with her partner before shrinking the last of her things and shoving them into a travel bag. After saying her goodbyes, Talliessa shouldered her bag, grabbed her staff, and gave her wolf a pat on the head. Giving her partner a kiss on the cheek and waving her staff in front of them all, she opened a portal leading to the entrance of the Wayward Squirrel. Moments later, on the other side, Talli and Moriel emerged and were welcomed by the faint sound of mandolin playing. Talli smiled and stepped through the door, seeking out the source of the music. "Hey True, long time no see."

Quickly gathering her things, (several swords, a pair of xai, her bow and arrow quiver and a bo), slinging all but her bow and quiver in bags over her shoulders she let's out a loud whistle and Torchy, her dragon companion, swooped down from a rock it had been sunning on while waiting for Jeice to finish her morning exercises. Jeice answered Torchy's questioning look with a big hug and stated exuberantly "Got a note here from Atrueheart! The Fallen Angels are meeting at the Wayward Squirrel and we have a journey ahead of us." Torchy danced a little with joy at the prospect of seeing the other Fallen Angels companions and it's friends friends. Strapping down the bags on Torchy's haunches, Jeice quickly accessed the checklist in her mind. Satisfied she'd packed everything she smiled at Torchy and adjusted her bow. "And we're off! The Wayward Squirrel and adventure awaits!"

Unfortunately, her relief, (she wasn't napping, honest!) was short lived as one of her beginner students came rushing into the lab, bumping and stumbling over to her from across the room. Calie froze and watched with trepidation as the student somehow narrowly missed certain disaster time and again and finally made it to her. The student stopped, panting, and held out a message. Calie took the message with careful fingers, frozen gaze still locked as the student turned and left the room, stumbling and tripping the whole way. Only after the student made it safely out the door, miraculously without disaster, did she relax and look at the message in her hands.
After reading she jumped up, yelling "YES!", and promptly knocked over a bubbling solution, which poured onto the work table and floor filling the room with smoke. Students up and down the hall looked at each other with smiles as the fire alarm again went off and a shouted "Dang it!" could be heard from the Chemicals Lab.

A group of five figures stood in front of a tavern discussing something. Their voices unheard, but the look of their faces suggested distress. Trying to read lips, J'heva understood that they were adventurers looking for another member since one of their followers was not going to be able to help. There was a problem and they needed to help fix it. As she continued to stare into the projection she found herself wishing she could help, just to ease their worry at least somewhat. She was always trying to help those in need, trying to clear up the regret she held onto so deeply with her past. With that, there was an audible pop as she was seemingly sucked into the crystal. The golden elephant landed with a bang as J'heva and Na'wa vanished from this dimension.
Shocked but with some understanding from the inter dimensional manuscripts she had read up on during her training in Durombra, she whipped out a piece of paper and inscribed a note in her quick script. Hurriedly walking outside she handed the piece of paper to a flamboyant woman who seemed to be in charge, at the same time trying to signal her inability to talk by motioning to her throat. In sudden understanding the woman in red read out the note to the ladies surrounding her, 'Hello my name is J'heva Tej'Anji and I don't know how this is possible, but I think I've been sent here to help.'
Jeice gave out a big Whoop! and along with the other Fallen Angels surround J'heva welcoming her as their new Vagabond. "Ok, ok ladies! Give her room to breathe!" Atrueheart spoke up and the Angels fell back. True reached out and took J'heva's hand and looked into her eyes for a bit and then nodded. "We could sure use your help. Thank you for coming." She then looked around at her team and smiled. "MY TEAM IS FULL!" she shouted, startling passerby's in the street, and then slinging her arms around the two closest Angels she headed toward the door of the Wayward Squirrel. "Now let's find out what we're up against!"

ORGANIZED CHAOS arrive, as usual...

Vaedelia The Ranger :

Azbre scurried hurriedly around Vae's legs as they walked towards the door. She stopped briefly before opening it to allow him time to climb up and settle on her shoulder. As the door shut behind her, she scanned for the rest of her team. Vae nodded in their direction when she spotted them, and Azbre excitedly chattered near her ear as he raised unto his hind legs. She patted him gently while making her way the rest of the distance towards her new fellow adventurers and took a seat close by to await whatever was next to come.
Frieda the Alchemist :
The temperature in the Central Valley foothill community of Glen Meadow had skyrocketed to a blistering 108 degrees Fahrenheit, smashing all records, not only for the day, but for every record for every day in the month of June. It had been too hot to sleep inside their den with no air-conditioning and so the young weasel and her mate Weldon camped out under the stars down by the stream that ran through their property.
Her ‘lurking device's' incessant vibrating woke her in the pre-dawn morning, way before her normal circadian rythym did. When she checked the message, she wasn’t surprised to discover that she was being summoned by the strange anonymous messenger from another world who had contacted her several times before. It seemed there was again trouble and that the Organized Chaos team was desperately needed. She woke her mate, gathered up her clothes and bedroll and made a bee-line for their den. She would need to quickly pack her gear and teleport to the Sacramento River to pick up Dace and Buttercup...and that meant that there would be drinking involved.
She called for Doom, the young honey badger, hugged and kissed her mate and pressed the keypad on her teleporter. She was going to have to drink a lot of beer to counter the effects of the next 'jump' through the Nexus to the Wayward Squirrel.
Dace the Vagabond :

Dace has gone back to wandering the hundreds of miles of waterways of the Delta after the exhausting events of the previous summer. After she recovered her energy she made frequent excursions to visit her cousin Frieda and also to see her otter family. Eventually she settled into a routine on her barge and took a extended journey through the backwaters and estuaries of her homeland. While she had experienced a lot of new things, eaten exotic food, and met marvelous people, she was glad when she finally sailed into familiar waters of the Sacramento River again.
Frieda arrived one afternoon via her 'Lurking Device' to inform her that they had been summoned back to the Wayward Squirrel and Dace's response was typical. "Time for a beer...or perhaps twelve." They spent the next few hours down at a local dockside pub and determined that they had consumed enough when Buttercup the faerie, Daces companion, passed out in the peanuts. "Well...better get going. I'm all pac..(urp)..ked."
Frieda, Dace, and Buttercup were pretty plowed when they arrived at the Wayward Squirrel, but Frieda ordered a double scotch anyway, "To clear my head...(hic)." Fortunately, Doom was there to guide her to a seat with her team where she promptly passed out.
Teislyn the Bard

Teislyn looked up from the letter she had gotten while in the middle of teaching one of the Master classes at the Veta University to the building in front of her, there it was again, same building, different adventure. She nudged her bag and Lini popped up and uttered a few squeaks and a poke with her cold nose to Teislyn's shoulder. "Yes, Lini, Doom will be in there, I promise. Shall we go in?" Teislyn rearranged her bag and instruments a bit and opened the door. Letting her eyes adjust, she saw several of the groups already there milling about and causally talking. She heard her name being called and she turned to her right and there they were, her small family and teammates. "Hey everyone!" she waved when she was closer to the table. "Go on Lini, Doom is over there," she said to the squirming Lure in her arms and the Lini jumped down and ran towards the honey badger. She sat down and saw the strange looks on their faces when she removed her hat, "Oh, my hair! Well I decided a change was necessary for my new position, I got a promotion to director of the music department." Ordering a drink, she asked how everyone was and what went on during the long absence away. "Definitely wondering what this," she poked at the letter in front of her, "is all about."
Aicha the Mage :

Aicha regarded her summons with disdain. "Oh, I suppose I'll have to go and rescue those worthless creatures again, as usual." She found herself muttering, but then again, she had a vested interest in continuing her association with the Organized Chaos. She still had a wizard to track and her adventures with the Wayward Squirrel provided her the cover she needed to continue her quest mostly unnoticed.
