so i got myself one of the cleaning items from the crystal shop, having read that it could be used in a quest to help Mattieu with something. But i cant seem to then do anything with it. does this mean this quest is an old one that we cant do any more (like the missing book pages and esther's greenhouse), or is there a way to do it?

I'm pretty sure the items are from an old event or plot and they don't do anything any more, they were just brought back for TCs and for people to collect :)

dang! oh well, at least i only bought one of them and not all XD thanks! i keep hoping they will bring back the old plots i missed out on!

I'm sure you can sell it to someone if you can't find a use for it :) I doubt any plots will be brought back, though there are always going to be new ones!

the Mattieu items were never keepable by anyone if you wanted to continue that site event so this is the first chance folks had to get the items for the purpose of actually getting the items. This is why they generated excitement - for the TC completers and cleaning collectors. Even back during the event, they didn't have any use except event-use so they don't now.

there is no quest for Mattieu anymore, it was part of a site event three years ago or so that was part plot part scavenger hunt. It's likely that only knows this via Subetalodge because they keep good item notes.

We had to pick up some special order coffee and some cleaning supplies. The coffee remained a real virtual item we got to keep, but the cleaning supplies we did not even though the item art did exist.
