I finally got a chance to test drive these revamped furs. At first, I thought they didn't look that outdated. But, after seeing the comments and trying different outfits, I can see what the fuss is all about. The furs don't match today's item standards. Because of this, they can't be used with today's items without clashing.

As a side note, these can't be layered properly with long hair. The tails either clip through the hair or the ears disappear in the hair.

That's not that much of a revamp, at least for the wearable version.

Subeta walked away from silly, cartoony items years ago, and I feel that the revamp should have been way more dramatic. It wasn't.

The CI is fine. But man, that wearable version is a slight improvement, but as slight as you go from C- to C

yeah i mean i wasn't interested in these items before, and i'm definitely not interested now. posted a nice comparison, and actually i think i like the old version better. (old version on left, new on right)

About the revamp specifically... the kitsune furs were always a weird item (there are lots of items, though, that I'm surprised a wearable version was bothered with), but if anything, making them a cross between realistic and cartoony upped the oddness factor. The art is objectively better, but if you're going to do something absurd, then keeping the drama of the old style might have been better.

I don't mind the tails themselves (though some do appear to need more shading), but the ears... those are what bother me. I liked the thin/long ears better than the shorter/fatter ones that we have now. Of course, I never use these, so not a huge big deal to me anyway.

I honestly couldn’t tell the new version is supposed to be fox tails if I didn’t knew what the item was... I also agree the more ‘bulky/over the top’ look of the old wearable should have been kept.

They look more like idk... tentacles? Now than anything...

I’m glad some of the ‘weirder’ older items are getting updated art (honestly some of these old items could be lots of fun to use) but if you want them to work you’ll have to keep some of the old features (bulky, over the top) otherwise it’ll just look weird

I prefer the old one's lineart and the new one's shading. They look squished with this new perspective. Also, the ears.... THE EARS. :<

I love the new ears a lot! They look so lovely and fox-like now :D

Not a fan of the tails tho. So much of the tails are hidden now it's honestly hard to tell it's meant to be fox tails. And I was kind of hoping they'd get rid of the coiling thing they had going on since that never made sense, but oh well.

I'm a big fan of the ears too! Though I do prefer the old tails (but maybe with the new shading as that does look nice!) Just feel they aren't quite the same.

Didn't use them much either way cause they are hard to make into an HA (least for me. )

I'm sure you read them too but the news comments have similar feedback. A lot more of it. Might be worth a similar staff tagged post there /shrug

I think they look better now. Not my kind of item, so that doesn't mean much. :)

I love the big fluffy tails of the old one. I really miss that in the new one. Now they are a sad set of tails, hidden behind the HA.

In the past I have used one or two of them. LOVE the fluff. :D

I was able to make a reasonable avatar with the black one. The others might be more challenging to match with wardrobe items though.
