Hi there just started to this game. but i was wondering if you're offline for a while. can your pets die ?
Nope! Your pets don't die.
However, if you don't log in for 12 months, your account will be marked as inactive and your username and petnames will be up for grabs.
Nope, they won't die at all! :D You don't have to feed or play with your pets.
You can put your pets in the Lakeview Resort if you're worried about them, but you don't have the time to feed them all the time. Giving your pet a minion will also keep them very happy!

The effects of not-feeding and not-playing with your pets is that they can't battle. Many users here don't find battling fun, so this is not a loss to them so they never feed or play with their pets. On the other hand, there are Achievements for feeding your pet unique foods and sets of foods, and some users like to accumulate Achievements so they feed their pet every time they can.
Occasionally there will be a sitewide event in which everyone's pets will contribute to defeat a huge bad monster with a zillion hitpoints. Even if your pet is stomped for a thousand icons-worth of damage all that happens is that they go to zero hit points and you can heal them at the Healer. Pets here don't die.

Me, I remember the original electronic tomodachi keyfob critters when they first came out years ago, and how unhappy their owners were when they died, so I'm sure it's a thing. Just not here. :)
