Curious what sorts of ideas as far as actual items have been offered in the past for users in the physical world can wear their support for the site, or just simply collect. I heard something about T-shirts or Plushies, and curious to know what happened fully into it and what sort of luck it brought. There is another proposal I have... Currently looking to get my name out there further into the world of jewelry and gemstones, and was curious to know if I could perhaps help in fabricating a few oddities and various items to help around. As some of you already know, I'm looking to grow my own business a bit through here, yet if Subeta can reap some positives from it as well beyond just the occasional CSC purchase, I would be all for it.

Just shoot me your thoughts here or in a mail, Subeta Team.

I encourage other users to feel free to chime in and offer their opinions and experiences as well. ^^

The merch idea was started with kumos plushies and I think there were charms of sorts? Like phone charms or something. It was ultimately dropped because it was too expensive for a small website to produce and wasn't bringing in enough profit.

And I really doubt that Subeta would randomly hire a very new user who is (I assume) still fresh on the crafts market to make merchandise for the site. Especially since you just said that you want to get your name out there and you'd basically like to use the site as a springboard for your own business.

'Sides, as far as merch goes, jewelry doesn't really scream "SUBETA! :D" to me. Plushies, charms, t-shirts, mugs, figurines, bobbleheads, colouring books... Things like that would get much more interest than jewelry. They would be cheaper to mass-produce and would be more affordable for those who are looking to buy Subeta merchandise.

But as of right now, I'd rather the extra money (if there is any?) went toward site improvements and hiring more staff. Merch can wait until Subeta sorts itself out.

Tbh if random users were to start producing stuff for Subeta while making money out of it (other than art bought onsite), it would cause a lot of issues copyright wise. I agree with about the whole jewel and gem thing. It's rather expensive and I cannot see myself buying a "Emeral carved Kumos" at $50 just for Subeta. I'd rather buy csc. In my eyes, Subeta is not big enough to do anything with such expand yet. I really liked the keychains, but it was probably much more expensive to produce and ship than anything else.

If you want to expand your business, open a shop here in the Art Market.

I'd rather have notebooks, or keychains. You know, things with the site art on it.

I think key chains, and charms would be pretty neat.

I'd buy a plastic kumos necklace-maybe.

Yeah, no offense, but I don't think Subeta's hiring you. I looked through your FA page, and you... just resell gems/jewelry you buy. You often don't know what your gems are and on a few of the rings you're selling, you don't even have any idea what you're selling or what material was used. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16364097/ 'Previously listed there. Again, 99% certain its just silver plated. The stones must be Cubic Zirconia. Cheap, but beautiful. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16362486/ 'Part of the seven rings found here. I am certain it is silver or nickel plated at best. Adorable and creative ring, but I cannot promise that it is solid sterling silver. I am also pretty damned certain the stones are Cubic Zirconia as well.'

If you made this, you'd know what the stones AND the ring were made out of. Alllso in some of your posts advertising what you have for sale, you mention not even making them.

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16362583/ 'As seen before, I found this CZ splendor to be the most attractive of the rings I managed to trade for. Silver or nickel plated, it still packs a massive wallop in visual display despite being cheaply made.'

So your gallery of things you've 'crafted' isn't even full of stuff you made. Nearly all the rings I've looked at on your page have clearly been traded to you. All four of your pages are filled with solo gems or jewelry that may or may not have been made by you, and no clear indication of what you actually made. And on none of the posts of actual crafts (jewelry or rings) do you mention actually MAKING them. On a few, you clearly have no idea what the carvings represent.

I don't understand why you'd want Subeta to hire you to sell jewelry? We don't know how many of your rings were even made by you.

Things I definitely can see myself doing: ~ Buying Subeta-themed toys for my young daughter (I don't so much play with toys myself anymore, after all) ~ Buy stickers, notepads, maybe even notebooks with Subeta-themed images ~ Purchase CSC in a real-world retailer, should Subeta reach a sufficient level to do a game-specific, Neocash-style card (especially if it also has that "Here's a special item" thing) ~ Buy ALL THE COLORING BOOKS both for myself and/or my daughter, depending on theme and content ~ Buy t-shirts, messenger bags, etc. that are attractive and cleverly branded (more like these two shirts than really any of this nonsense)

Things I definitely don't see myself doing: ~ Responding to "Nice necklace/ring/earrings/etc." with "Thanks, let me tell you about this cool pet site"

Plus all the stuff said. Brutal, but pertinent.

Alas, amazed to see so much negativity and criticism. Everyone starts somewhere as nothing is handed to them, and true entrepreneurs will go out of their way and to any lengths to get a solid start, a steady climb, and a successful, lasting finish. I believe you are taking some things far out of context, as yes, regarding those cheap end rings, I did NOT make those, nor would I be proud of them. I am currently in the process of moving, as well as setting up shop. This includes a work shop to produce custom works of jewelry, in all silver, gold, and whatever one can imagine.

Point is, I'm looking to float some ideas around, and I am rather pleased to see some folks already state their opinion on what they want to see in Subeta, rather than casting their judgement.

Perhaps it was a mistake to stick my neck out in the community, but hey, here I am, despite some of the criticism I am seeing.

For now, I'll continue amazing and wowing a vast majority of the folks that visit my gallery. Business will flow and grow as usual. ^^

Then why not link to a shop that only has examples of your work instead of a shop that sells cut gems and things you haven't even made? This is like going to a job interview with someone else's resume.

Because I figure if they were interested, they'd request examples themselves, and by the time I'd actually be ready and willing, and once full deals, regulations, and fine details would be discussed, I would have examples of hand crafted work ready to go.

Are you for real? When this website hires people, they always ask for examples beforehand. You don't go looking for a job selling arts and crafts without a single example of things you've done beforehand.

Like, I get little odjobs from my mom's school, making stencils for kids or drawing large pieces for them to colour because I had examples of my personal work. Her boss saw what I did, liked it, and kept sending me things to do because she saw what I was capable of.

You can't just go to someone, ask for a job and have no examples of your own work and expect your potential employer to ask and wait for you to make examples.

You need a portfolio if you want to work doing things related to art bro. I'm not trying to be mean, but jobs seriously don't work that way.

Hires. Hires. Hires.

I'm looking to discuss first before I dare offer myself for anything that will enlist a good 4-10 hours a day of my time for Subeta, if not more.

I think you're taking this far too over zealously in my opinion.

And I think you're counting your chickens before you even built the henhouse, let alone hatched any eggs.

If you really want Subeta to hire you to produce jewelry under their brand, you need examples of your work, not just the gems you have and the things you've traded for. Why make this thread if you're not even producing things on your own? What is there to discuss? What are you even going to say if Keith discusses things with you?

You have no products, no nothing to show for yourself when you bring yourself to the table.

This website has hired artists before, and it has always asked for examples before discussing anything with people. I'm not bashing your creations because I have seen nothing that you have created. I'm telling you that this is a bad way to conduct business, period.

Cannot dip my toes in the water to see in full what they'd wish from me myself, hm? I appreciate the concern, at least. And being a place that has ran for many years, I would not even dare assume they'd not take all manners quite seriously.

For now, I need to divide my attention to other stuffs. Perhaps we'll debate further in the future. :3
