How long do you have to wait between pet feedings?

generally speaking, pet hunger and happiness decrease by about one point per hour, but it's not always consistent for some reason, and there have been a lot of reports of issues with hunger going down. also if your pet has eaten a lot of different foods and you view their 'food eaten' page their hunger should decrease at a slightly slower rate.
