This says to me: "We're willing to do anything - even throw children under the bus - in order to make our hateful, transphobic point."
That law is no way to ensure the safety of children, or anyone else for that matter. Its all about hate and nothing else.

While I agree that this law was blatantly instituted to further make a point of embarrassing and demeaning transgendered people; I do think that there are some benefits.
Many high school students walk to/from school or the bus and have plenty of distance and time between their home and school. There are many, many creeps that love to assault and harass under-aged people during this time, as I have experienced this harassment personally during my high school years. If a minor is going to school whilst carrying their pepper spray (which is non-lethal by itself), where are they supposed to put it once on campus?
My argument being, positive results can come from legislation that was passed with an amoral/ulterior undertone.
