Account clearing usually happens at 3AM for me. I never really tried to grab a pet name that was about to be cleared before, so I placed it in my planner, and even made an alarm.

I was awake at 3 AM and even on Subeta, but I still missed out on the name. I only realised today that it's possible for accounts to clear a day earlier than listed.

Let this be a lesson to me (and others) to try checking for the name you want a day early. ;)

sorry that it happened to you that was my biggest nightmare when I still bothered to try in clearings. o_o;;; Luckily it never happened to me, I only had to try THREE times to snag a very important name because the account the pet was on got stuck in the system for days. I still see it as a miracle that I at the end got it. That was my last clearing as well and I'm not sure if I ever will try again.

Welp, it seems I'll also have to try a few days after from now on, and not just before! Congratulations on getting the name in the end -- I hope that made the struggle worth it! Clearings were just too daunting for me to deal with when my sleep schedule was more conducive for them; I'll probably refrain from participating in them after I try for the last name I'm eye-ing for.

I don't have an issue so much with the time zone, it is that I am always at work those times and the only times I have absolute free-time to do name clearings is weekends for the most part. To even attempt it I need to ask if I can change my break time since I live close to work, but I don't like doing that. Q__Q b>6pmest clearings haha.

Also damn I thought that bug where they cleared early randomly was fixed? I'll need to keep that in mind..

Same here! I can only actively stalk clearings on Sunday mornings. Q__Q I feel like 6PM EST might sit well with more people (even in the Americas,) though it'd be harder for the Europeans.

I hear yah. I'm in the same timezone as you, but like most of the time i'll sleep through the alarms XD or i'm doing a nightshift.

Yeah unless it's a name I've been after for years I just go for weekend names as well. Yeah it was mostly wishful thinking LOL it's too bad there isnt really a time that works for everyone qq (though I don't need a reaso to spend more time at a pc as I am all day with work haha)

I'm lucky to work an office job and spend my whole day on a computer so I'm almost always there at 3pm for the clearings, but god I can't imagine how it must be for you with it being 3AM... I used to always miss clearings too when I has a retail job :c

(I mean, even if I am on, I've been super unlucky in the past 3 clearings I tried and only got the names I wanted cause my friends caught them for me but still..)

I do wish clearings were at like ... 6-7 pm it would work much better imo since this is when most people are on? Hell even midnight would work better (it'll be between 9-12 for most of America and like 5-6 isn am for Europe, 12pm for Australia etc.)

I always check the account the day before when it's a 'big' name since clearing a day before is more common than expected... I'm sorry you missed that name, but at least you have a good attitude about it c: I wish you luck in the next clearings ❤

Sometimes I think of at least three names for a pet so that I won't be so disappointed if I miss out on them! From my own experience, I'd end up not needing the name I thought I must have after around 2 years, because I would have been too comfortable with the one I settled for (especially if it's the character's surname or something closely related to them.)

I still check on some of the names I once wanted in case they might be available. This was one of those cases. :o

Thank you, I do feel bad for people in the Americas/Canada who miss out due to work too. I used to wake up at 3 AM everyday, but I can't handle that anymore unless I sleep at 7 or 8 PM. :c

The best bet is to get friends to help claim a name, from what I've seen. Congratulations on still getting the names you wanted! c: I don't understand/know who thought of making the clearings at 3PM, unless it's because there are less people and it puts strain to the servers to clear accounts. :o

Most people who beat me to a name do pamper that pet a lot and make very beautiful stories/characters! But even if someone doesn't seem to do anything with it, they got the name first so they can do what they want with it, imo. shrug

I'm from Australia, so we're probably around the same in terms of time zones. Time zones are a real pain and I've always despised them. I've never bothered with things like clearings on Subeta, just because I know that I'd never be able to get a good name. That, and the rubbish Australian internet. It's so damn slow.
