I just wanted to make a quick announcement! In an effort to mix things up this term, we have decided that instead of our usual ball, we will be holding a Spring Festival! There will be games, rides, prizes, and more! So I hope you're all ready to have some fun.

This, like our previous balls, will mostly be a roleplaying event, however there will be games and contests as well. The catch: it will be held outside of the cult in the [size=12pt]Roleplaying forums! This means you will be able to bring friends who are not part of the cult to play, enjoy good company, and partake in the general merriment. Please take some time before the Spring Festival starts to read the rules for the Roleplaying forums.

There will also be an HA contest held in the Avatar Contests & Games forums!

Unlike the balls, however, the Spring Festival will not have a theme. (Unless, of course, you count the implied theme of spring time.)

The Spring Festival is set to start Sunday, May 15th. Please note that this date is tentative and is subject to change.

Now that you've been brought up to speed, it's time to talk about the live entertainment!

This time, we are expanding our search to bring some great acts to our event! While we would love to have a few musicians, we are also looking for other forms of entertainment as well. The acts could range anywhere from circus acts to mimes to something along the lines of firebreathers! The possibilities are limitless.

Contest rules: 1.) No school uniforms! 2.) You must give your character a name. It should be a different character from your student character. 3.) Please let us know what your character's act is. If they are a musician, you must tell us what instrument your character plays (even if it is displayed in your avatar). 4.) Please do NOT give your HA a background! The Vanishing Cream and Whiteout items are fine, since these create a white background only. 5.) No "Muggle magician" acts, please! Other Muggle acts are fine, however we do not feel that "magicians" would be very fitting.

(Your character should be able to work well with others!)

Each member may only submit one avatar, and each avatar to successfully adhere to the contest rules and theme shall be awarded 10 House Points! 5-10 Human Avatars will then be chosen to be part of our entertainment. The creators of the chosen HAs will receive an extra 20 House Points each!

This is Desdemona Blaze. She is a half-centaur and she juggles fire and does all sorts of fantastic tricks with flaming hoops and cords.

Morgana Nightfury, Dragon Tamer. She is a half blood who trains dragons to preform tricks

This is Theo Durnforth. He is a Ventriloquist - no magic is used in his act because he is a Squib.

Erin Farrell is a falconer. She performs tricks, maneuvers, and formations with her flock of falcons, kestrels, and owls.

Poppy, Slytherin

Keahi, the human torch. She is able to walk through flames and remain untouched ... and as she passes those who watch, she always asks "do you dare to "Fire Walk with Me"?"

Nikkolaira "Nikki" Wyatt

head of the Cattail Tumblers, a troupe of acrobats and gymnasts. Cat ears and cat tails are a costume standard, enchanted so they can be moved as if they're real. The group has some aerial routines, but ground level is where they really shine. Nikki herself is actually an animagus who can take the form of a calico housecat.

EDIT: used puush, but the image might not be the right size, and certainly doesn't have a transparent bg. It's my HA, though, so you can grab it from there if you like. As a note, if it would be setting appropriate, might it be possible to have Nikki's "extras" be a partial animagus shift? I don't know if that's too much of a stretch. ^.^ The others' would be enchanted props, of course.

Celeste Nightshade is a contortionist who has pioneered the Ossio Dispersimus incantation so that she can contort herself without pesky bones getting in her way. She can basically become entirely bendable in almost any direction.

Arkha Solarys is a half-phoenix fire breather. She has been known across the Wizarding World as a fierce creature who entertains while being mesmerizing in her acts.

House Slytherin

Nova the Escape Artist. Known to get through and out of, so far, everything. Including magical items.

Fiona, the Fae Fiddler will play sprightly reels, jigs and a variety of trowie tunes to enchant you.

Addison has created a career for himself as an entertainer. He works for Muggle parties as a "snake charmer", claiming his snake-like skin is just a costume, but prefers working for Wizarding events. There, he can admit his snake skin was the result of a backfiring curse when he was a teenager, and can demonstrates an awe-inspiring Parseltongue-filled act, ably assisted by his perfect trained snake called Boris.

Paddy - Gryffindor

Ringmaster Addison will tame even the most ferocious beasts!
