My poor cat Sunshine was hit by a car yesterday. I was leaving my house to go school and saw him at the end of the street. It was so tragic and unexpected to see. No pet owner wants to find their pet that way. I had been looking for him before leaving home and just thought I'd see him later like I always do. I now feel so guilty for letting my cats go outside. I've lived in a pretty quiet neighborhood with low traffic for years and never thought this would happen. :( Sunshine had turned a year old in April. I miss him so much. My other cat is really missing him too. They were absolute best friends and played, snuggled, and ate together daily.

Wow. That's absolutely my worst fear. Seeing my pets getting hit by a car/the after math. I can't even begin to describe what you must be feeling. It must have been so tragic. Ugh, my heart goes out for you.

I lost both my dogs last year within 1-1.5 months apart. They were with me for around 14 years of my life. It was the worst pain I EVER felt in my life. Worst than a breakup, and dare I say it - worse than a relative passing away. I could actually feel my heart hurt and I cried so hard.

I also just lost my outdoor cat this past March. He never returned home :/ We don't know what happened. We're hoping for the best.

My advice is, the pain never really goes away. You just get better with dealing with it. I suggest seeking therapy for what you saw because it seems that would be a traumatic image. Next, bury you beloved cat somewhere you can always visit. Plant some flowers and get a little memorial stone(s) and place them around. It'll be a nice place to dedicate to your fury baby.

I wish the best for you ❤️

Ugh. That hurts. I am so sorry you had to see your little love like that.

My heart goes out to you. I lost a pet recently as well. I agree with what said, a nice tribute to her might help you feel a little better and get some closure.

Try to concentrate on the love she got and the good times and the great life she had while she was with you. That is what counts the most.

Take care. <3
