I'm sure this has been answered before but what special characters were allowed in pet names in the past that aren't now? And is this pet's name special at all or should I just change it?

If you go to "create new pet" it actually tells you what is allowed in a name, provided you have a free pet slot.

That pets name is only as special as you make it to be in all honesty. Some people have high value on Real Word names, whearas I, for one, have no value on real world names such as "Infuriate".

Some people also find value in low id numbers, whearas I also do not find value in that. It really is up to personal preference and taste on whether the name should be considered valuable or special.

Hello again Slowerthanzero. waves Ah I see. I was personally wondering what type of symbols are retired, including the ones in the pet above. I was just gonna change it to something I really want but I thought it might be a shame to rename a pet that "rare". And while I do care a lot about names and IDs, I do see your point. I have a fair share of sentimental pets like Alesia, Tayden, CamoRon and Chatham. ^^'

Oh hey, I actually didn't even realize it was you there lol. But yeah, I wish I could help you on which symbols are retired and which are still allowed, but since I have all my slots filled I can't actually go in like I would to make a pet and tell you what it says.

I see your point of definitely wanting to not "ruin" something that could easily be considered rare by those who like those sort of things.

If rare symbols, Ids and such is your thing, then by all means, I say keep it. Myself, my only concern on pets is a cool sounding name I can get inspiration for cool characters for, so a pet like this would not be appreciate as much as with someone like yourself who does enjoy those things. ^-^

I want to say that only spaces and underscores are allowed currently (and maybe dashes) but I'm not 100% sure on that. I know there were problems awhile back and some things were disabled while that was fixed. If I had to guess I'd say spaces, underscores, and dashes are allowed; the only one I know for sure is spaces. /is not helpful

I love that pet name tbh, I got a good giggle out of it. But if you don't want to keep it, there's no harm in renaming the pet (although it would be a lot cheaper to adopt this one out and create another Arid Sheeta with a new name instead, unless you want that particular pet for another reason)

So I found this as I went to make another pet as Slowerthanzero suggested. "The following characters are allowed when naming your new pet: alphanumeric characters (abc123), periods(.), spaces( ), dashes(-), and underscores (_)!"

Welp. I feel a little silly for not noticing that. Looks like @#$%&! is staying @#$%&! xD Will make for a good zap pet.

So I wonder when those characters stopped being allowed.

Ahh yeah I thought it was something like those, but I wasn't exactly sure which ones. Anywho, glad to know you've decided what you want to do with the pet and goodluck with your plans for it. ^-^
