Hey guys!

While talking with some fiends and enjoying the awesome mood that I'm in, I got to thinking... Wouldn't it be great if we knew who had a birthday so we could show those people some love? Think about it! You use a search function, like how you can search for people wanting certain items through Wishlist search, but instead it shows you people who currently are celebrating their cake day. You could impart on them some kindness and show them some birthday love! Or even perhaps when you go to the gift center, with random gifting, there can be an option to gift to someone celebrating their birthday that day. Many people don't even celebrate unless it's with friends here. I know our community is full of many kind individuals who love to gift of themselves to others and I think this would be a great option to have!

The gift option might gift inactive users, that idea needs to be tweaked a little bit.

But a little place where birthday people are displayed (if they choose to) would be nice!

Every general forum I visited had an online list where the birthday people are on top of the list below the staff or just had a seperate place.

Here you can only know someone is celebrating their birthday if they were the last to post on a topic. That kinda sucks, Subeta is really lacking when it comes to birthdays.

Yeah, I don't know about this one. It sounds nice in theory, and I know you have good intentions, but I just feel like too many people would be uncomfortable receiving gifts from strangers. I'm fine with having the birthday cake showing up next to our usernames so people can see if we post on the forums and stuff, but I believe that's an optional thing.

The only way I would be okay with something like this would be if there was a way to opt out of having your username show up in the birthday database or whatever.

I think as long as the list was opt-in instead of mandatory it would be a great idea. I love giving out birthday gifts and a way to find out who to gift at a glance would be wonderful.

I actually like this specific part of the idea, so if that came to fruition I'd think it was cool (so long as everything was anonymous), but overall, myself and a lot of other people like to keep our birthdays a secret for privacy/security reasons, and I know I would not want that info revealed on some sort of mass listing. :(

I like this idea. But only in a search option like a drop down or something? That would have to be tweaked. But I don't see anything wrong with the idea overall. It would just have to be that if you didn't want to search it then don't search it no big deal. That doesn't mean others wouldn't like the option to. But honestly if I'm randomly sending someone something I just search all Wishlists and sometimes I will see a birthday cake next to their name and choose them for that reason. So in a way we kind of already have this available? If it's a birthday database, as someone stated, then there should be an opt out button just like if you want to be infected (i.e.). Personally I love the idea of being able to send someone anything if its their birthday. And I think that most people state in their profile if they're not okay with it. Lol I don't know if I just talked myself into or out of the idea now :) I like where your heart/thought is though.

I would only support this as something you would have to opt-in to. Some cults have their own birthday groups or topics as an alternative. There's a general forum group here - Introducing: The Birthday Group!

This would absolutely have to be something that individuals can opt out of if they don't want to be included on the list, but as long as that's the case I think this is a cute idea. :P

I'm for this, as long as there is an option to not be displayed. It's fun to give people gifts on their birthday.

Only if it's opt-in. That would exclude a lot of inactive accounts. Also, maybe the feature can be disabled on accounts that have not logged in for X months? That way presents won't be wasted on anyone who goes inactive later

Support. With opt-in option. It was a feature on most forums/communities I've been on and rather liked one.
