The Sensory Espers Sight: Example, scrying – the ability to use an item to view future events

Touch: Example, psychometry – the ability to obtain information about a person or object by touching the subject or a related subject

The Aura Espers: Healing: Example, energy medicine – healing by channelling a form of energy created by the user.

Reading: Example, Empathy - the ability to feel others' emotional or physical feelings.

Mind: Example, Telepathy - transfer of thoughts, words or emotions in either direction

The Manipulation Espers: Elemental: Example, pyrokinesis – the ability to manipulate fire.

Mental: Example, automatic writing – the ability to produce writing without conscious thought.

Physical: Example, Levitation – Bodily levitation and flying

Occasionally, Espers whose powers do not fit into the above category appear. These Espers are known as Null Espers as they have no defined place.

Each Esper’s power is measured and assigned a number to indicate their strength. The levels are as so:

Appearance: Charlotte is a tall, slim blonde-haired girl with sparkling blue eyes. She has tanned skin with freckles dotting her shoulders, suggesting that she spends a lot of time outdoors. She’s not athletic but she is toned, with her stomach and legs being the most muscular. Her curly blonde hair has dark streaks of brown, especially at the roots, implying she’s a bottle-blonde. Her usually wardrobe consists of trendy, and surprisingly practical, skirts, t-shirts and heels and she wears her hair loose mostly, though she’s known to tie it up when nervous.

Personality: Charlotte is your stereotypical queen bee. Cruel and bitchy, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if devil himself called her scum. Surprisingly, Charlotte isn’t all bad. To the people she cares about – current count 1 – she can be very motherly (though she tries to hide it), constantly worrying and spoiling them. Charlotte loves her little brother, Matthew, greatly and protects him with all her might. In fact, the reason why she hates bullying (and refuses to do so) is because of Matthew’s treatment when he last used his powers. Charlotte is still an alpha bitch though so she tends only to rile up, or irritate people instead of outright bad-mouthing them. Making friends with Charlotte is difficult not only because of her unpleasant personality but because she doesn’t trust easily. Of course once you have her trust (good luck) she’s surprisingly loyal and will defend you till her last breath.

History: Charlotte grew up in a nice suburban area with her little brother Matthew. Her parents spoiled her and brother rotten and Charlotte was never without anything she wanted. Her parents only spoiled her because their were always constant fighting about something making Charlotte’s home a very uncomfortable place to be. At this time Charlotte wasn’t yet an alpha bitch, though she snubbed anyone who didn’t met her standards, indeed she only became a full-blown witch when Matthew got bullied at school for accusing Todd Grants of stealing the school’s football cup. With her parents breaking up, and her brother coming home with cuts and bruises, Charlotte started to take out her negative feelings on those around her, becoming the bitch she is today. After their parents divorced, Charlotte and Matthew were taken by Esper Academy to hone their psychic abilities.

Esper type & Powers: Charlotte’s a mind Esper. Her powers are psychic waves – the ability to enhance the power of a feeling or emotion and project it to another person. These waves are supposed to be used for communicating but Charlotte’s strong emotions make them more akin to a weapon.

How did they discover their abilities? : Little while after Charlotte began her reign of terror, people started to target Matthew to get back at her. Once she found out, she flipped out and used her powers for the first time.

Other: Charlotte will do almost anything Matthew asks, including joining the sprint team, the pole-vault team, the swim team etc.

Appearance: Matthew looks eerily similar to his sister. He has the same curly hair has her (though his is dark brown), has the same sparkling eyes and tanned skin (complete with freckles). Matthew has a similar build to his sister’s but is much taller and muscular. His usually wardrobe consists of sporty, well-worn clothing which he usually pairs with tattered sneakers. Matthew’s hair is short and he usually doesn’t style it, somehow giving him an elegant bedhead.

Personality: Matthew is the exact opposite of his sister. Friendly, kind and cheerful, Matthew is outgoing sportsman with a heart of gold and a witty tongue. Matthew loves making bad jokes and puns, and has a witty resort for almost every situation. Unfortunately, Matthew has picked up a few traits from his sister. Matthew can be unbelievably selfish and cruel when it suits and because of his sister’s constant mollycoddling, Matthew is unused to not getting his way and can be very childish.

History: Matthew had the same upbringing as Charlotte and attended the same school as her. Ever since he was a child, Matthew has always been an exceptionally strong psychic and when he entered high-school, his abilities only grew. In fact, it was his ability that caused Matthew to accuse Todd Grants, a notorious bully, of stealing the school’s Football trophy. Unfortunately for Matt, the nature of his powers meant the event hadn’t happened yet, so when the school’s administration investigated, Todd was found to be innocent and Matt was punished accordingly. Todd took the opportunity to add Matt to his list of victims. For a while Matthew suffered at the hands of his tormentors (which included people who hated his sister) before Charlotte blew up and discovered her abilities. After that, both Matthew and Charlotte were taken to the academy.

Esper type & Powers: Matthew is a level-2 Scryer (details in the Esper types under sensory, sight).

How did they discover their abilities? : Matthew discovered his powers when he was 11. He’d been playing with friends when he saw a vision of a friend scoring a goal. Moments later the friend kicked the ball in the same way he’d seen and scored a goal.

Other: Matthew loves sports and is always dragging his friends into joining sports clubs. Also, ever since his bullying, Matthew lost his ability to use his powers as well as he once could.
